Aaralyn and Thackery

Weeks have passed, and Aaralyn's house had turned in from new looking to a comfortable roomy atmosphere. She gave a sigh.

" I can't believe it. I'm finally getting my life back together." She replied quietly turning away from the window she had been looking out at. She sat down on the couch and stared straight ahead in her thought.

" Maybe I need a pet, I haven't met anyone yet, except Thackery and he hasn't been around in the past couple of days." Aaralyn said thoughtfully to herself. She saw a shadow in the doorway of the screen and squinted against the shadow. She saw it was Thackery. She gave a small smile.

" It's open Thackery. No need to peek in to see if I'm around. Come in." Aaralyn said, some amusment in her voice.

Thackery nodded and opened the door. His smile brightening up her day. " How are you today Aaralyn? Getting overloaded with bills?"

Aaralyn scoffed, but then smiled." Na, I have money. I've saved up to be on my own for years...unfortunatly sooner then I have expected...but their was a reason." She paused a moment getting the dreamy look out of her eyes and looked at Thackery. Then shook her head." Of course nothing I need to explain...I can't, not while the memories are so fresh in my mind. I know you've been wondering, but I'm not ready to tell you...or anybody. At least not yet. I will be soon though. I just have to get over it first."

Thackery nodded." I'm not pressuring Aara, whenever you want to tell me, I'm here to listen." He paused then looked around." This is starting to look like a home. No doubt a roomy one I'd imagine. You spend enough time in it. Why not join me one night out on the town. My treat of course."

Aaralyn shook her head." Thacks as much as I would like to. I'm also not ready to go out. I know you wouldn't understand why but...I'm in fear. I'm hiding, but trust me when I get out on the town you'll wanna bring me home the minuet you do." She paused with a laugh.

Thackery smiled." No doubt I'd wanna take you home, but not till the night is over, of course only if you can. The only excuse I'll take is if your gonna turn into a pumpkin by midnight." Thackery smiled, his eyes lighting in delight.

Aaralyn gave him a strange look." Thackery? Are you ok? Because you've been acting weird around me for the past two weeks and even more so when I first met you so what is it?"

Thackery laughed." I haven't gone out with someone in a long time and wanted to get together with a beautiful girl for a night out on the town. Is that so much to ask of a beautiful woman?"

Aaralyn snorted and rolled her eyes." Oh please Thackery that line has been made a million times, think of something unique to say for once, and my offer still stands. No I'm not going out and if I have to turn myself into an inanimate object and hide I will." She paused and smiled at how stupid that sounded. Then she cleared her throat.

" Guess I'm not ready for alot of things." She stated watching Thackery walk towards the door. " Tomorrow. I'll pick you up around 9. Be ready or I'll be spending time with an inanimate object, or with you. This can be fun or boring. No is simply not an answer I will except."

With that he walked out leaving Aaralyn to stare after him in shocked silence.

She threw her hands up with a huff." Oh I give up with guys!" She exclaimed taking the remote that was on the coffee table and turned on the TV.
