Mouse
Mouse made her way out of the Hanson house quietly. It was so hard for her to even gt outside Taylor's room, when all she wanted to do was cry. And they didn't want her going anywhere in case Blakesley came after her. But she knew, somehow, that she wasn't part of his plans for now.
She raised her head and whistled, and the crow from the day before sprialled down to her. Let's go find him. The bird flew back into the sky again, and Mouse followed him to where Kirk was.
She spotted the duplicator and walked over. "Steel?" Fafnir and Bets flanked her.
Kirk
Kirk's head shot up and he backed off a little, reaching into his trench coat.
When he realized who it was, he sighed.
"Don't sneak up on a guy like that," he shook his head.
"But anyway, kid, what can I do for ya?"
Mouse
"Survival tactic, most of the time. Christian was looking for you..." Mouse hesitated, unsure of how to say this. "He kinda got kidnapped."
Kirk
Kirk hesitated for a moment with a frown, then broke out laughing.
"Yeah, yeah... that's a good one. No one in their right mind would even try that on my Christian."
Mouse
"Laughing, not so good. Doesn't change what happened though. Christina Terry, also known as Spook, kidnapped one Christian Thomas yesterday." Mouse sighed. "And I know you'll go, no, she couldn'tve, she doesn't have any powers, yada yada yada. But she does now. Don't ask me how, but she's got them now. She's got one called Null. Send me into screaming hysterics because the world suddenly went silent..." Mouse shuddered visibly. "He couldn't use his telekinises..."
Kirk
Kirk's smile faded.
"Spook," he frowned, putting his hands on his hips.
"Spook's the one... oh great. That bitch. I'm gonna kill her my freaking self when I get my hands on her..."
Mouse
"I don't think she's quite what we would call sane anymore. She went to Smallville, Kansas." Mouse bit her lip. "She said all she wanted was to talk to him. I don't think she'd hurt him...or she wouldn'tve. Before. But I still don't think she'll hurt him."
Kirk
"I don't care," Kirk growled, pulling a gun from his trench coat.
He opened the barrel and removed a bullet, holding in the palm of his hand - the other in a pocket as many duplicates clattered together, falling in.
"No one," he raised his eyebrows, "no one, messes with my boys like that. Taylor was enough. I'm kinda lucky she got Null."
He put the gun back together.
"I don't exactly use my powers in an attack. I'll have to go without Chloe."
Mouse
"And yeah. That was why Christian was down here..." Mouse blinked back tears. "Blakesley took Taylor again. He was looking for you to get help, I think."
Kirk
"You're not $#!+ing joking?" Kirk's eyebrows twisted.
"Not the both of them... not..."
He hesitated for a moment, then scratched his head.
"I can find Taylor. The government wouldn't know how to cover their tracks if they had control of a freaking illusionist. But I'll leave Blakesley for Christian."
He put the gun away and cracked his knuckles.
"Last I heard he was waiting to have some fun with him. Damn this woman. Shoulda killed the bitch when I had the chance... when we went after yourself."
Mouse
"Yeah...didn't really get a chance to say thanks for that. So, thanks. Same to Chloe. You'll probably get a chance to say it to her before I do." Mouse patted Fafnir's head, ducking his gaze. "I would ask that you don't kill her. But I can understand why you want to."
Kirk
"My oath," Kirk frowned.
"And sorry love, but there's a death warrant out for her now. If I find her and get the chance to kill her, I won't hold back."
He leant over to grab the backpack he'd had his nose in when Mouse had jumped him.
"And as for going after you..." he shrugged, "just going with the flow. Had to do it for Taylor. Not that I wouldn't have done it if I'd known they had an alien."
Mouse
"Yeah...there's two people with Taylor. A mutant and a human." Mouse looked at him seriously. "They might not be alien, but no one deserves to stay with Blakesley. If you can get them out...will you? A blonde haired girl with purple eyes, her name's Natalia. And Ewan's tallish, with red hair. He's Scottish. Blakesley doesn't care about consequences anymore."
Kirk
"Blakesley doesn't care about anyone or anything but himself, and anyone who doesn't know that should stay out of his way," Kirk raised an eyebrow.
"And I'm not normally one to... get involved with other species. But if I find them and have time, I'll set loose everything they bloody have. Mainly to teach 'em a lesson."
He pulled out a cell phone and speed-dialled, putting it to his ear.
"Steel... Blakesley, scientist. Has Taylor Hanson. Thanks."
He hung up.
"My boys are onto it. Easy as that."
He put the phone away.
Mouse
"Maybe you should look at interacting with other species more often," Mouse said softly. "I better get going before the Hansons think I've been taken again as well. Thanks...for doing what you can."
Kirk
"Don't thank me," Kirk shook his head.
"I'm only doing it for my boys. Tay and Chris. I have to look out for them."
His eyes hit the entrance of the alley they were in.
"Unfortunately, Chris is gonna be the hardest to find. But I'll work on it."
He slung the backpack over his shoulder and leant forward to shake her hand.
"Congrats on the engagement, and I'll see ya around."
Mouse
"Thanks. Please...find him for me. I don't want to lose him," Mouse said, then left before she broke down in front of him. She made it to the Hanson house before she started bawling like a child. Running up the stairs and darting into Taylor's room to surround herself in his things and crying, just crying her heart out into his pillow.
