Natalia
Natalia huddled in a corner of the cell, too terrified to move. They would come back again. She knew it. She wanted her knight! But he'd fought and fallen and been taken to be buried, deep deep in the earth.
The claustrophobia and the pressing in of the dark. The quickening pants for breath as the mind convinced itself that the ceiling was moving down on you. The sheer mind numbing terror of being buried alive.
What if they forgot you?
What if this was the time you died?
Alone and lonely in the dark...
She shuddered and pressed herself further into the wall as Blakesley entered again, with two soldiers.
"Ewan needs to learn that there is nothing he can do to protect you, and that he would be better off learning to protect himself," Blakesley said. He nodded at the soldiers. "Bring her." One of them clipped a lead to Natalia's collar and the four of them left.
They entered another room, and Blakesley walked over to some complicated equipment. There was a chair with straps in the middled of it. Natalia's breath started coming in pants, as the soldiers led her over to it. She sat down in it and they strapped her wrists and ankles down, before putting a forehead strap and a chinstrap on, holding her head immobile.
"What..." She was slapped vicously across the face and shut up. Then they did something to her eyelids so that her eyes would stay open. She whimpered in fear as Blakesley swung a scitific instrument up and trained it on her face. A brilliant light switched on, shining into her face.
"I wonder how long it will take for you to go blind," Blakesley mused.
The soldiers and Blakesley left, leaving Natalia to stare helplessly into the bright light.
All she could see was white as her eyes dried out...
