24 September 2003 - It's not paranoia if they really are after you

Tegan

Displaced

Sergei was definitely twitchy. He didn't know what the hell was going on, but he didn't like it. He was seeing things out of the corner of his eye everytime he left the mansion. Not even leaving the grounds. Just leaving the building.

He looked around, the other members of Displaced looking at him oddly. "None of you...have that odd itchy feeling you get when someone's watching you?" They were sitting out near the basketball courts in what sun there was, just talking.

"Not one of the girls, is it?" Octavian asked.

"No. I know that type of attention, believe me. I think this is the type of attention I don't want to attract."

"Scott?"

"No. Darker." Sergei frowned and ran his hand through his hair. "I wish Logan and Nyx were still on guard here."

"Well, you wouldn't be the only one." Angelo shrugged slightly. "I didn't really know them, but there was something about them..."

"A don't mess with me and mine attitude that the universe respected," Octavian said.

"I don't trust Loki," Sergei said flatly.

Who the hell does? I don't like him, and I don't like his charges.

"Who does?"

"No one, I think that's the point," Octavian sniffed.

"So...back to Sergei's paranoia..." Angelo redirected the conversation.

"It's *not* paranoia, if they really are out to get you!" Sergei defended himself.

You havta h'admit, Sergei, that paranoia is a Russian past time.

"I'm not imagining things!" Sergei said angrily. "I *know* someone is - BORZHEMOI!" A shot cracked, and he flung himself down. They all stared wide eyed at the dart quivering in the ground. "NOW do you believe me?!"

They quickly took the semi-band meeting indoors.

Sergei logged onto the YIRAAAS website and made a brief report. While there, he managed to find out abut Taylor and Natalia. Oh, almighty God. They really *were* after him. Sergei shuddered at the thought of returning to the labs. He'd die first.
