Zac
Diana answered the door to see Randy standing there.
"Yes? Is this about the flu?"
Randy nodded.
"May I come in?"
"Of course," and Diana showed him in.
"Your son, Zac, he was the first reported case."
Diana nodded.
"I... I'm not asking this... I hope I don't seem out of line here, but Zac... Zac has a son to uhh," Randy checked his notes "a 'Nyx'?"
"Yes. Saku."
"And Nyx is a cat, isn't she?"
"I believe so. A werehuman, she's generally refered to."
Randy took a breath.
"The human flu, is generally accepted to have come from... bestiality. The running theory is that -"
"Oh my gosh!" Diana's eyes went wide.
"If... if that particular... union is the cause."
"Oh my gosh!"
"Would you mind if I saw Zac?"
"No... no..." Diana swallowed. "This way."
She lead him down the stairs to Zac's room, knocked, and opened the door slowly.
"Zac, honey? Randy wants to talk to you."
Zac didn't reply.
"Zac," Randy said. "This is important."
He explained to him the theroy he had told Diana a moment before. When he was done, Zac stared at Randy, and smiled weakly.
"So, you're saying... I brought this... on myself?"
"Well..."
"And I've infected... our entire... population? Go me. Genocidal... and sucidal... mania all... in one... go."
"Zac, we're not blaming you. You couldn't have known. It not like she was in cat form at the time - or was she?"
Zac sniffed.
"No... she wasn't..."
"Hmm. Look, I just want to runs some tests."
"Don't they all?"
"If the theory is correct, these test might help us fix this."
Zac closed his eyes.
"So long... as I can... sleep... through them."
Randy smiled.
"We can do that."
