19 September 2003 - Chris finds out about Chris

Michelle and AiMsTeR

Tanya

Tanya arrived back home from her meeting with Wayne. She unlocked the door, stepped inside and sighed.

She had tried to do the right thing and it had blown up in her face.

She headed for the kitchen and made herself a cup of tea.

Christian

Christian heard her come home and head straight for the kitchen.

She was rather quiet... no hello or anything.

He got up from the bed and made his way toward the kitchen.

"Tanya?" he waited until he had her attention as he stood in the doorway.

"Are you ok?"

Tanya

Tanya looked up slowly.

"Hey, Christian," then she sighed. "I may as well tell you..."

She paused for a moment.

"Something went wrong with your friend Spook. The command I put in her mind... for some reason it's not working. She just murdered over fifty good YIRAAS agents."

Christian

If Christian had been holding anything, he would have dropped it.

He froze for a moment, his mind racing.

"Are... are they sure, sure it was her?" he frowned slightly.

Tanya

"Secruity cameras," Tanya replied by way of explanation. "The odd thing though, is that none of the agents used their powers against her."

She sighed.

"I'm sorry Christian. But she has a death warrant on her again, and there's no way even I can get around it this time."

Christian

"Fifty," Christian squinted at the floor.

He made his way to a chair in a corner and sat abruptly, putting his head in his hands.

"I thought..." he gulped for a moment, "I thought she'd gotten over it. I don't know why..."

He looked up for a moment, then to the door.

"I should have done something when she was here."

Tanya

Tanya sighed.

"I thought she had too. That's why I did it instead of kill her outright."

She shook her head.

"I've never had Wayne come down on me so hard in years."

Christian

"But fifty," Christian shook his head, still frowning.

"I can't believe that she'd..."

He shook his head again and ran his fingers through his hair.

"I should have taken her in when I had the chance. I am so sorry."

He hid his face in his hands again.

Tanya

"Christian, I'm not blaming you," Tanya replied softly. "I haven't seen you that happy in a long time. I didn't want to spoil that for you. And besides, you're not YIRAAS at all. You have no obligation."

Christian

Christian looked up at a cupboard, then leant his chin in his hand.

"I just can't help it, I mean, I had a chance... I had the perfect chance."

He shook his head.

"And for once I kinda thought things might have been straightening out. But no... Every day I just screw my life up a little more."

He chuckled a little.

Tanya

Tanya put a hand on his shoulder.

"The yoyo has to go back up sometime," she said. "You'll find your way."

Christian

"I'm beginning to think it never started up and it's never actually been up," he raised his eyebrows.

"I mean I thought my childhood was fine, and my early teens... that kinda went down the drain recently."

He shook some hair out his eyes, then hesitated thoughtfully.

"Maybe I should do something..." he gnawed his bottom lip for a moment, "dye my hair black or something. Just for a change. Then at least I wouldn't just be looked at as the clone of a wuss."

Tanya

Tanya grinned.

"Go on," she said. "Dye your hair, get tattooed, maybe a few piercings... whatever you want to do that might change your outlook on life. Or at least what you feel may give you some sort of fresh start."

She sighed.

"Sometimes it's good just to start all over again."

Christian

Christian grinned.

"I might just do that. Get some piercings I mean."

Then he chuckled.

"I know that Taylor has an earring, but... yeah. Maybe an eyebrow ring or something. Could be cool."

He scratched his head.

"I'll have to think about that though... starting 'afresh'. Sorta have to work out in what direction."

Tanya

Tanya nodded.

"It'll all work out," she assured him. "You'll see."

CHristian

"Yeah, yeah..."

Christian just shook his head, then got up to leave the room.

It was always 'going to get better'.
