Tegan and JOy

Victory

Sabretooth had reluctantly left Victory to go on a job for Glory. He couldn't say no while he was working for her. Unfortunately, this left Victory to her own devices. Not a wise descion, considering who her mother was.

Victory padded through the halls of Glory's complex, regally ignoring anyone that looked at her. She was out to track something down that had been bothering her. She'd smelt something that was trapped, and heard whispers through the other levels of what was considered consciousness. She found a room and slipped inside. She eyed the elderly man on the bed, then leapt up onto it.

Charles Xavier opened his eyes to be met by curious green ones.

"Mrrrooowwrrr?"

"Hello..." He couldn't quite shake the idea that an intelligence equal to his own shone out of those green eyes. He dragged himself back onto his elbows slightly, feeling more alert then he had in days.

Victory shifted, and tilted her head slightly. "Hello." She sniffed carefully. "You're sick. Or they're putting something in you," she said, twisting a strand of ash blond hair around a finger.

"Something like that, yes," Xavier agreed. "My name is Charles Xavier, and yours is?"

"Victory Creed." Victory studied her nails for a moment, before nipping at them sharply. "I'm here with my daddy."

"Ah." Xavier regarded her more warily. "Sabretooth?"

"That's what Kanny's dad called him."

"And you're here because?"

"Because the mean mean lady came and killed Nana and Mama had to run, so we all had to go to out dads, and the mean nasty lady smells like dead flowers, and I *don't* like her at all but Daddy said he had to stay here for now, and sometimes the best place to hide is somewhere in plain sight, and did you know my mama?" Victory wound down.

"What was her name?"

"Nyx!"

"I knew Nyx..." The two chatted for a bit and Victory unobtrusively ridding Xavier's system of drugs.

"So...you are the youngest of five?" Xavier asked curiuosly.

"Yep. There's Kanny, Fao, Saku, 'Fina and me. Five." Victory held up a hand. "Kanika, Faolan, Saku, Serafina and Victory. Black, Wolf, Righteuosness in the Lord, Winged Angel and well, Victory's obvious, isn't it?" Victory sprawled across the bed next to his legs, biting on a tendril of hair, green eyes glowing with interest.

"Quite."

"Mama said she wanted us to remember who we are. Who we come from. It's in the blood, you see."

"Nyx was always quite vehement about the value of family," Xavier murmured.

"Blood calls to blood, like to like, fang to fang, claw to claw, I'll guard your back and you'll guard mine," Victory chanted, kicking her legs in the air.

"Is that how it goes?"

"Well, it sounds more impressive in Egyptian." Victory grinned at him, then the door opened. Victory regarded Magneto curiously, then turned her attention back to Xavier. "Tell me about things. I haven't been out of here since me and Daddy went to the city. We meet Kanny and her daddy too."

"Did you now?" Xavier said carefully, not wanting to alert Magneto to any infomation Glory could use.

Victory straightened slightly to look at Magneto. "I know you. Daddy said I shouldn't talk to you or believe anything you said." Xavier chuckled faintly at Magneto's expression.

"Your daddy is probably right. I'm not a very nice man."

"Oh, he's not either. But then again, neither am I." A small ball of fire formed in her palm as she smiled serenly at Magneto. "I'm a bit wicked."

John

St. John came in, looking contrite.

"Hello Professor," he said, looking at his feet. "You know, I didn't want to do this."

"I know, John. I know. Erik can be. . .very persuasive."

"He said he'd put me back on the streets where he found me."

"John, know that as long as I'm living, I won't let that happen." John suddenly noticed the little girl.

"Oh, hello. Viccy, isn't it?" he greeted her, kneeling down to be at eye-level.

Victory

"Yep!" Victory nodded, but scooted back a little so that she was closer to the professor. "So bright, the fire in your eyes." She bit her fingernails, green eyes watchful. "Fire's so pretty. Saku has fire too. And me. But that's just cos I'm chaotic, mama says."

John

St. John smiled at the little girl. He took his Zippo out of his pocket and made a little fireball. He then shaped it into a kitten, and made it dance.

Victory

"Watch!" Victory held out her hands and fire flickered, grew. It shifted colour from living flame into darkest jet, her eyes slowly darkening from leaf green to an almost black shade of emerald. "Shhhh..." The flames flickered as they danced around her skin. She hissed slightly, tongue darting out in concentration. A lizard appeared in her hands. "Ah. Hello."

It hissed back at her, red scaly skin gleaming in the light of the reflected black flames. "Child, you called."

"I did."

"Why?"

"Just showing off."

Dry hissing laughter echoed from the salamnder's mouth. "Indeed. And what humans are you playing with?"

"Dr Charles Xavier, and, and a boy. Saint-John."

"Ah, saints. So troublesome. Exorcisms itch my scales."

Victory giggled.

John

JOhn smiled. "Not actually a saint. Just named after one. My mother was a good Catholic, when she wasn't busy being a drunk," he said.

Victory

The salamander glacned at him before crawling up Victory's shoulder. "You know, you really shouldn't call me here. Glorificus is insane."

"Well, we all know that!" Victory said in derision. "Bad nasty lady, stinking of dead flowers and sickness! Yuck!"

John

John shuddered. "Don't care for her much myself. She's really frightening. And other than bad tricks who try to strangle you, I'm not afraid of muchy."

Victory

"She killed my nana," Victory said solemnly. The salamender curled around her face in sympathy. "I'm not scared of her though. Cos one day, we're gonna get her." She bared her fangs.

John

Charles chuckled. "Well, when you think we're all ready to take her on, you let the X-men know, and we'll help."

"I'll help too," John said, smiling at the girl, playing with a fireball subconsciously.

Victory

"Rawr!" Victory shifted and the salamnder scrabbled for a moment in midair before disappearing with a hmph.

"Kittens..."

Victory waved her tail, then pounced at Saint-John's feet. Shoelaces! Feetfeetfeetfeet!
