Nessa and Michelle

Bobby

Bobby searched the school grounds frantically for Rogue, until he had a brain wave and decided to actually go to her room to see if she was there.

He knocked on the door and waited patiently for her to open it, even though he really wanted to talk to her and was getting so desperate he was considering kicking the door down.

"Rogue, you in?"

Rogue

Bobby's call made Rogue jump out of her seat.

"Umm, yeah, yeah, come in," was Rogue's flustered reply.

Bobby

Bobby opened the door and stepped into the room, closing the door behind him.

"Hey, I didn't interrupt anything, did I?"

Rogue

"Just homework," Rogue answered.

She gave the books a dirty look and then turned to Bobby.

"You startled me that's all. What can I do for you?"

Bobby

"I have a problem," Bobby said.

He fidgeted awkwardly.

"I kinda... kinda like Julie."

Rogue

Rogue raised an eyebrow.

"Ooooh... really?" she asked, her eyes glittering. "Now, if that your heart talking or your... head."

BObby

"A little of both," Bobby grinned.

He shook his head. The uh... top one.

"But yeah, I don't know... she has kids and she's not interested in me... so it's weird."

Rogue

"So her being a teenage mother bothers you huh?" Rogue asked. "And how do you know she's not interested? Has she told you that?"

Bobby

"It doesn't bother me."

Bobby thought for a second.

"It's... it's new. Well to her as well, I guess. And, well, no, she hasn't told me, but I doubt she likes me."

Rogue

Rogue shrugged.

"Maybe she wants to get a handle on being a mom first before she starts dating again."

Bobby

Bobby nodded.

"Yeah... yeah that's probably it."

He grinned.

"You're so smart, Rogue. But then, can't say I'm surprised, you must've gotten that from me, when you absorbed me."

Rogue

Rogue shook her head.

"You are so full of yourself, you know that? If it turns out Julie can't stand you, that's why."

Bobby

Bobby pouted.

"But I'm so lovable."

He grinned.

"Ok, in all seriousness now... um... see when I have to be serious it all falls apart."

Rogue

"That's because you need more practice," Rogue informed him.

She readjusted herself on her seat.

"So... what exactly do you want? For me to talk to Julie and ask her if she likes you, or something?"

Bobby

"Could you? That would be awesome, Rogue!"

Bobby grinned.

"I guess it kinda goes without saying that we've broken up, right?"

Rogue

Rogue laughed.

"I think we've been unoffically broken up for some months now. Oh and even if I do get a confession of love out of Julie, if she asks me not to tell you, I won't."

Bobby

"But Rogue! How will I know then?"

Bobby pouted at her, his bottom lip quivering.

"Right, well that works both ways. You can't tell her I like her. And so if we like each other, the other will never know, so it's all going well, isn't it? What do you say, we run away and get married Rogue... we know we're not in love, but at least we know how we feel about each other."

He grinned.

Rogue

Rogue laughed.

"And then you'd cheat on me when I don't put out and I'd file for divorce soon thereafter... That would be a rather exciting six months of my life."

She raised an eyebrow.

Bobby

Bobby grinned.

"See, let's do it! We can brighten up six months of our lives."

He chuckled.

Rogue

"Bobby? No," Rogue replied. "I have enough problems in that area of my life without making it worse by marrying someone I know loves someone else."

Bobby

Bobby turned serious.

"I did love you, you know."

He smiled sadly.

"But I guess we weren't meant to be."

Rogue

"Guess not," Rogue agreed.

Silence.

"I have a suggestion for you. Why don't you go ask Julie out, since you're so keen on her."

Bobby

Bobby nodded.

"I might."

He sighed.

"I'm glad that we're still friends. If nothing else, I'm glad you're still in my life in some way."

Rogue

Rogue smiled.

"Same. Even if you are a sex-crazed egomaniac."

Bobby

"Yeah... yeah."

Bobby walked over and kissed the top of Rogue's head, making sure he didn't touch her skin.

"Thanks for the talk."

He left the room, and smiled at her as he closed the door.

Rogue

Rogue sighed as Bobby left the room and turned back to her homework. She picked up her pen.

"Take that evil calculas," she muttered.
