Isaac
Isaac picked up his phone and dialed Chrissy's number. It had been awhile since they had last spoken. Partly because they both had been busy.
Partly because Isaac felt guilty about a certain crush of his.
He waited for her to pick up.
Chrissy
"Don't hang up!" Chrissy yelled as she ran from the bathroom to the bedroom for her phone.
She jumped on top of her bed and lifted the phone to hear ear.
"Hello?"
Isaac
"Hi Chrissy," Isaac replied. "It's Ike. How ya been?"
Hearing her voice made him feel so much better.
Chrissy
Chrissy's face broke out into a huge smile. She'd missed him so much, and she'd been worried that maybe he'd forgotten about her.
"Hey Ike... man, I've missed ya. I've been good, what about you?"
Isaac
"I've missed you too," Isaac replied. "You have no idea."
"I'm good. The tour has been very... interesting. But fun. And a little tiring at time, but when we actually play the concerts, it's all completely worth it."
Chrissy
Chrissy grinned, still happy at hearing Isaac's voice.
"Well that's cool then. About it being worth it. Which reminds me, I'm sorry I couldn't get out to your concert before! I was just so sick, and ugh, but Madison said it was good."
Isaac
Isaac had to bite his tongue. Why couldn't he talk to Chrissy without Madison coming up?
"Oh, that's okay," he replied carefully. "I hope you're feeling better now."
Chrissy
"Yeah, I think it was just stress from so much work, and then Faith went missing and ugh, it was just, ugh. Such a mess."
Chrissy shook her head.
"So... how long is the tour gonna go for?" she asked softly. "I miss you."
Isaac
"I miss you too," Isaac replied. "We have a few more dates for September, and then about three weeks between then and some dates in October."
Chrissy
"Oh well... maybe if all goes well, I can come out to see a show. And hopefully I won't get sick again."
Chrissy sighed.
"So, what else has been new?"
Isaac
"Oh, not much," Isaac replied. "Mostly it's same old, same old. Well, except we know have Zac's son tagging along. Now there's an interesting experience. Especially when tying shoelaces."
Chrissy
Chrissy's eyebrows crinkled in confusion.
"Because he can't tie his shoelaces? Or you can't? Or he undoes your shoeslaces again? And wait... Zac has a son?"
Isaac
"You didn't know? Damn... okay umm, I don't know if you knew, but Nyx went into heat and had some kids... well, Zac was the father of one of them - his name is Saku - and now Saku is living with us because Nyx is on the run at the moment. Saku is a cat. Well, he's a weredathrian, but whatever. And when he's in cat form he does cat like things. Like playing with your shoe laces when you try to tie them up."
Chrissy
"Ohhhh yeah."
Chrissy let out a deep breath.
"Madison mentioned there was a little kid around, but she didn't mention it was Zac's."
Isaac
There was Madison's name again.
"Maybe no one filled her in either. It gets like that sometimes. You get so busy and you know so many others know you don't realise people don't know," Isaac replied.
Chrissy
"Yeah, or she didn't pay attention. She gets like that sometimes, kinda off in her own world."
Chrissy paused. Ike seemed weird when she said Madison's name.
"She mentioned you guys talked after the show. How was that?"
Isaac
"Oh umm, yeah, it was good," Isaac replied. "We mainly talked about stupid stuff. Like weather."
"And ever that topic was dangerous."
Chrissy
Chrissy frowned.
"You seem weird when I bring up Madison."
Isaac
Isaac gulped.
"I... I do?"
"Oh yeah, that sounded convincing."
Chrissy
"Hmmm."
Chrissy frowned again.
"Wait, I think I know why."
Isaac
Isaac readjusted himself in his seat.
"You... you do?"
Chrissy
"You... you don't like her, do you?"
Chrissy raised an eyebrow, despite the fact that Ike couldn't see her.
Isaac
Isaac could have sighed with relief.
"Umm, yeah," he agreed readily. "I'm... I'm sorry Chrissy. I try to get along with her - for your sake, but you know how it is."
He felt bad decieving her, but the alternative was worse.
Chrissy
Chrissy shook her head.
"It's alright... I don't think she likes you either. I figured that out the other day."
Isaac
"Ahh," Isaac replied.
"Which make you think... if Chrissy thinks that I don't like Madison, but I do, and she thinks that Madison doesn't like me, does that mean that Madison really does? Don't think like that Ike, it'll only end in tears."
Chrissy
"Yeah, but she's agreed to make an effort as well."
Chrissy sighed.
"Why now, that I've found Ike, do Madison and him not like each other?"
Isaac
"Yeah... I'm, I'm sorry Chrissy," Isaac said. "I promise I'll make more of an effort not to let my ahh... friendship with Madsion get between us."
Chrissy
"Thanks... I know it might be hard sometimes, but I'm glad you'll try."
Chrissy let out a sigh of relief.
"Thank you."
Isaac
"No, thank you. For having the patience to put up with me," Isaac replied.
Chrissy
"Aww, Ike, I don't put up with you... it's a blessing to have you in my life."
Chrissy flopped onto her back and grinned.
Isaac
"Aww," Isaac replied, trying to swallow the guilty feeling. "I love having you in my life too."
"Gee it's not like you've done anything wrong. Can the guilt already!"
Chrissy
"Aww, sweet."
Chrissy giggled.
"I should come and see you soon, I miss you."
Isaac
"I miss you too. It would be great if you could visit."
They chatted a little longer before hanging up. Still, Isaac continued to have that guilty feeling about Madison. He wished he could shake it off.
