10 September 2003 - A False Revelation

Nessa

Chrissy and Madison

Chrissy followed Madison from the living room into the kitchen.

"So, come on, how was it?" Chrissy asked.

"How was what?" Madison replied.

"Ike."

Madison paused, before pulling out a chopping board and a knife. "What about Ike?" she asked casually, opening the fridge door and retrieving some apples, hiding her face from Chrissy.

"How was he?"

"He was... he was ok."

"Just ok? I mean, you've barely said two words about the concert."

"Oh, it was good. Um, they played really well, and I think Paige was more excited than I was." Madison concentrated intently on cutting the apples into even pieces.

"Did you see Ike after it, like we'd planned?" Chrissy inquired, leaning against the kitchen bench.

"Yeah... yeah we did," Madison bent down to get a plate from the cupboard below her.

"How was he then?"

"Oh, tired, from the show. So we didn't talk for long. And we mainly talked about the weather, because we... uh... we didn't have a long time."

Chrissy gave Madison a curious look. "Are you hiding something from me?"

"No, never. Apple?" Madison said perkily, holding out a piece of apple.

"Mad?"

"Yeah, Chrissy?" Madison said, looking innocent.

"Are you... is there something you want to tell me?"

"Uh... no, don't think so, you know everything about me, I'm like an open book. You know me, I never hide anything, heh..." Madison babbled.

"So... there's nothing you wanna tell me... nothing... so there's no reason why you've been acting weird everytime I say Ike's name?"

"Uh... I haven't been acting weird. You can say Ike's name whenever you want and I won't act weird, because he is your boyfriend, and you like him a lot, and he likes you."

"Oh my god!" Chrissy yelped.

"What?" Madison jumped.

"I've figured it out!"

"Uh... figured what out?" Madison asked, biting her lip.

"Why you're so weird about Ike!"

"Um... why?"

"Because..."

"Hmm?" Madison fidgeted nervously. "Oh my god, she knows!"

"Because you don't like him!"

Madison let out a sigh of relief. "Yep, that's it. You've caught me out."

"Yeah, well it was kinda obvious."

"Yeah, I guess it was..." Madison let out a nervous giggle.

"Maddy, can you please make an effort to like him? Or at least pretend?"

"Um, yeah, sure I can try. Hey, what do you say, let's go watch a movie!" Madison exclaimed, trying to change the subject.

"Yeah, cool."
