Tegan and Joy

Nyx

Nyx had given birth to her children a few weeks ago, Egyptian time. It flowed differently here on the Western bank, so that only a few weeks had passed in the real world. Well, what people liked to classify as the real world.

Kanika, named for the hair as black as Nyx's and Wolverine's own.

Faolan, named for his father's other name of Wolf.

Serafina, named as another Angel. Brown eyes sometimes flickering into gold like her father's.

Saku, his name having the same meaning as his father, Zachary.

And Victory, named for her father, Victor Creed. Also known as Sabretooth.

Nyx ran through the halls of Bastet's temple, cursing her mother's antisocial tendecies that meant this temple was so far away from all the other temples. It had meant Glorificus had attacked there first. She skidded into the nursery and called her children to her with an imperative meow. The crackle of flames grew louder, and she could hear deathcries in the corridors. They all ran to her, in their feline forms for the moment, as she was.

Kanika, black fur outlining the perfect white stripes that looked like six slashmarks across her chest jumped into her mother's embrace as Nyx shifted upwards into human to carry them all out. Faolon's blue and green eyes glinted up at her from his own black fur. Serafina's brown and cream tabby markings outlined her perfect golden eyes as she wound her way around her mother's feet. Saku's fur was mottled like an Egyptian Mau's, dark and light browns swirling all over each other with hints of creams and dark brown outlines around his dark brown, almost black eyes. Victory was a white tabby with light tan markings and green eyes like her mother.

"We need to go. Now."

Kanika shufted into human, physically looking about two years old due to a cat's faster growing rate. "Where's Nan?"

"She...can't make it right now." Nyx was worried for her mother. Bastet had decided to look for Glory and take her on herself. "Be kitty shaped now, baby girl."

"Ok, mum," Kanika said agreeably, and shifted back. Nyx scooped them all into her arms and looped a fold of her plain white shift around so she could cradle them all safely. Ignoring the fact it meant the top half of her was bare. Nyx slipped to the door and started running for the perimeter. If Glory had attacked here...she had to get her babies out. Nyx's lips curled back from her teeth. And then she saw Glory at the end of the corridor that led straight to the outside. Re give me strength, Horus guide my arm, Sakhmet fill me with righteous fury, Mother bless me.

Nyx coiled herself to spring, when a blast of her mother's magick knocked Glory over and out of the way. A snarling black cat followed up, springing on Glory and starting to claw and bite.

"Mother!"

RUN! Bastet lodged her claws in Glory's dress, and ripped.

Nyx took her mother's advice and ran for it, her kittens mewing in distress.

Glory

Glory picked Bastet up and grinned.

"There's more than one way to skin a cat. ANd I happen to know that's physiologically true," Glory declard, as she punched her hand into Bastet's stomach and pulled out the babies, one by one, dropping them on the floor, not caring if they were alive or not.

"How pretty your insides are, Bastet," Glory replied, as she pulled more of them out. Stomach, liver, kidneys.

Bastet's children and Mouse

Bastet screamed in agony, magic flickering vainly and her paws batting weakly at Glory's hand. Nyx wailed, then darted back, snatched up a kitten that was moving slightly and fled.

You will fail, Glory.

Nyx opened a portal and jumped through it, tears falling down her face.

Sooner or later, you will fail. I curse you with my dying breath. Ill luck follow you, misfortune dog you. Die screaming. Bastet's golden eyes lost their light and her head fell forward limply.

~*~*~*~

Sabre howled as he felt his mother die. "MOTHER!"

~*~*~*~

Priss screamed as she felt Bastet flicker out of existence. "MOTHER! NO!"

~*~*~*~

Nyx stumbled out of the portal, stinking of blood, sweat, smoke and fear. The temple had been burning as she'd left it, and one of Glory's minions had caught her over the head with a sword. She felt her mother die, and then the glory of Egypt flared into life around her, inheriting her mother's goddess hood. "Mom..." Nyx didn't know it yet, but her eyes had become green straight across, looking like cut stones of jade or maybe emerald, with slitted black candleflames for pupils. Dark lines ran under her eyes, then extended outwards towards the edges of her face. She felt the last kitten of Bastet moving, and portal jumped again. "Priss!" She handed the kitten to her wailing sister. "Take him."

"Oh, Nyx!"

"Heal him! I have my own children to think of." Nyx disappeared and Priss set to work, still weeping.

~*~*~*~

Mouse cried out, hand flying to her arm as her Claim mark burned. She crumpled to her knees, white and shaking. "Oh god..."

~*~*~*~

Nyx stepped out of the portal and looked at Zac, eyes glowing. "Hello, sweetie." She swayed slightly, blood still coursing down her temple. "Not much time to explain. I have to run again. Saku." Saku crawled onto her hand and she purred at him. The kitten purred back and licked her fingers. "Love you too, baby boy." She looked up at Zac. "Take it that time runs differently in other dimensions. You need to look after Saku. He's your son."

Taylor

"Jane?!" Taylor exclaimed, collapsing at her side.

"What happened?! What's wrong?"

Mouse

Mouse shook hard, the babies screaming inside her, making it harder to think through the fog of fear and pain she was recieving from Bastet and her children. Well, not from Bastet anymore. "She's dead..."

Taylor

Taylor looked her up and down for a moment, before falling forward onto his knees and enveloping her in a hug.

"Who?" he asked softly, eyes searching the wall.

Mouse

"She's dead, she's dead, she's dead and the world is screaming. Can't you hear the cats?" Mouse could. All the cats screaming their loss, wailing and shrieking. "Bastet is dead."

Taylor

Taylor hesitated, listening. He could hear faint screams, only through his connection with Mouse.

"Oh God, I'm sorry," he shook his head.

Mouse

Mouse tried to decipher what had happened, eyes gleaming with tears. "I can't find the name. Her babies are dead too. All except one. Nyx saved it. Nyx is...Nyx is here. Somewhere. Priss and Sabre are screaming. Nyx is running. Hiding. With her kittens." She folded in around her own babies. "I won't let her get you, I won't. Nyx, run. Run faster," she pleaded brokenly. "Save your kittens. Don't stop running. She'll catch you."

Zac

"M-m-mine?" Zac repeated, shocked.

Okay Faith was going to kill him. Not to mention his mother. Oh man... wait! If this was his - and Nyx's that meant -

"W-what what powers? Nyx! Do you know what powers?"

Nyx

Nyx shifted Saku around to her hip and he shifted into his human form, looking to be about one or two years old and utterly adorable. "Fire magic and he's a hydrokinetic. And he has atom manipulation. Smile, sweetie." Saku obediently smiled, displaying little fangs. "Be good for your daddy, ok, sweetie?" She pressed a kiss to his forehead and swayed slightly.

"Mama?" Saku looked at her, confused.

"I'm so sorry, baby. So very, very sorry. Be a brave little kitten for me." She hugged him tighter for a moment, then put him down on the floor. Nyx had fixed it so her children were clothed when they shifted, taking whatever they had been wearing last with them.

Saku's hair was swept up into a topknot on the side of his head, and his eyes were outlined with kohl. He was wearing a little white cotton kilt and a wadjet eye made of turqoise on a leather thong for protection. Saku stuck his thumb in his mouth and looked up with tears starting to glimmer in his brown eyes.

"Glory killed my mother. She may came after me as well. I have to scatter my kittens everywhere, and hope that most of them survive," Nyx told Zac frankly. The other kittens she cradled mewed and moved. "Be good, Saku." She pressed another kiss to his forehead. "Get Mouse to call Sabre and Priss for help. I have to go." Nyx turned and stepped through another portal.

Saku's eyes overflowed. "MAMA!" He started sobbing noisily.

~*~*~*~

Nyx's heart was torn. She couldn't stay. She stepped out of the portal to her next destination. LA. "ANGEL!"

Taylor

Taylor gulped and let go of her, sitting back onto his legs just watching.

"She'll make it," his eyes darted between hers reassuringly, "and then we'll find out what happened."

Mouse

"Zac...she's gone to Zac." Mouse got up. "Don't know why, but that's where she went." Her head tilted slightly. "No, she's gone again. But someone is *very* upset about it." She frowned. "We better go find out what's going on."

Nyx

Wesley looked up, startled as he heard a woman scream. He got up quickly and went to the lobby from the office. His expression went dark as he saw it was Nyx. Albeit a very bloody and battered Nyx who...good Lord, was her bosom moving? He took his glasses off and cleaned them.

Nyx's gaze landed on him. "Serafina, your turn now. Where's Angel?" She walked over quickly to Wesley.

"Angel is no longer with us," he said disapprovingly as she took a kitten out of her bodice and then blinked as it shifted into a little girl with brown hair, wearing a little white, simply cut dress.

"This is Serafina. Hey, crossbow boy, you got a little sister now!" Nyx said to Connor snarkily as he appeared at the railing, crossbow as ever in his hand. Serafina looked at Wesley with wide brown eyes, then hid her face in Nyx's shoulder. "Long story short. Glory killed Bastet. I'm on the run, because she might want to kill me next due to the fact that I inherited my mother's goddess hood. Serafina is Angel's daugher." She detached Serafina from her body and handed her into Wesley's startled arms. "Be good, baby girl. Be brave for me, ok, kitten?"

Serafina's lip quivered.

Wesley eyed both her and Nyx with some alarm. "I say, you can't just..."

"Do you want her to die? If I can't leave her here, it means she will almost certainly die," Nyx said bleakly. "You think this isn't tearing me up inside? Be good for your Uncle Wesley, sweetie." She pressed a last kiss to Serafina's forehead, and then whirled on her heel and nearly dove into the portal. Serafina started screaming and kicking.

"MAMAMAMAMAMAMA!" Her eyes flashed gold as Welsey tried to soothe her.

Gunn and Connor

Gunn casually walked out of the office.

"What's all the - what the hell is that?"

Connor crossed his arms. "Appears Dad has been busy. New kid."

"Ah, not the one and only anymore, hey, Connor?" Gunn remarked snidely as he went to inspect the baby in Wesley's arms. "Rightm well this calls for a new game plan. We need the curse to be done. The Halliwell sisters could probably do it."

Taylor

"Good idea," Taylor agreed, getting up as well.

"Any idea where he is?"

Serafina

Serafina stopped crying and was hiccuping quietly into Wesley's shoulder as he petted her. She looked up with big brown eyes. "Want my mama," she told them all tearfully. She saw Gunn, and immediately hid her face back into Wesley's shoulder. "Want da," the little voice came out muffled. "Where da?"

"He's not here right now, but we'll make him come back." Wesley had a slightly frightened expression on his face as Serafina seemed to have adopted him for the moment. "I can call them. Gunn, if you would..."

"NO!" Serafina said firmly. Wesley looked at Gunn helplessly.

"I was an only child. My parents were only children. What does one do with children?"

Serafina blinked up at Wesley, then reached up and planted a kiss on his cheek, to his immense surprise. "Unka Wes."

Gunn

Gunn shrugged.

"Just do what yo doing. I'm gonna look for Angelus. Bye."

And with that, he was gone.

Mouse

"That way," Mouse said distractedly as she walked off. Taylor followed her.

Zac

Zac chewed his lip, holding Saku in his arms.

"Umm... yeah... don't, don't worry Saku. I'm sure your mama is gonna be okay."

Argh, he didn't think he was going to have to deal with this until Dez's baby. Oh man...

"Don't, don't cry... I'm your dad. I'm going to look after you for a while."

Mouse

Saku clung to Zac and cried. "Want my mama!"

Mouse opened the door as Saku's crying went higher. She saw Zac standing there with a little boy clinging to him and sobbing.

"Hey, sweetie, what's wrong?" She asked gently as she walked over, brown eyes looking at Zac in question. Her only reply was a choked whimper.

Zac

"It umm... it would seem that this is my son. By Nyx," Zac gulped. "Bastet... Bastet is dead and Nyx gave Saku to me in the hopes that he will live. She thinks Glory's going to come after her next."

Zac wasn't entirely sure what to do. You would have thought looking after younger siblings would have helped perpare him.

"It's okay dude," he said to Saku.

Taylor

"Hey..." Taylor began in both English and cat, not sure which would work better at the time.

He reached out to Saku's head and let his fingers run through his hair.

"Mom's gonna kill us. It'll be like 'he followed me home, can I keep him'?"

Nyx and Mordred

Nyx stepped out of the portal into Mordred's room. It stank of despair and sickness. She felt so guilty right then, she almost cried. She'd ruined things for him and Gwen. Mordred sat up in bed, dark hollows under his eyes and face gaunt and wan.

"Nyx. Get the hell out." His voice was dead.

"Will do, Wolf. Got someone for you to meet first. Faolan. Your son." Nyx fished for Faolan in her bodice. His eyes went wide, and he straigtened up more as she placed Faolon on the bed.

"What?!" He yelped.

"Be human," she told Faolon distractedly and he obediently shifted. He looked at Mordred thoughtfully, his blue and green eyes gleaming.

"Da?"

"Yes. This is your dad. Be good for him, ok darling boy?"

Faolon nodded solemnly. "Yes, mama. I'll be good."

"I love you," she whispered to him as she bent down to hug him again.

"Luff you!" He wrapped his arms around her neck for a moment, then she disentangled herself.

"He can shift into three forms, wolf cat and human," she told Mordred, who still couldn't believe his senses. "He's telepathic and empathic, not so good at magick. He'll be good." She ruffled Faolan's black hair, then turned and stepped back through a portal.

Father and son eyed each other thoughtfully. Mordred sighed, then held out his arms. "Come here then."

Faolon crawled over the bed into Mordred's arms and settled down happily. Mordred stroked his hair as the little boy curled up trustingly in his arms, thinking. But very carefully behind a telepathic shield. He fell asleep soon after Faolon, exhausted by thoughts of how he was going to tell Gwen.

Mouse

"I think the answer is yes, we're keeping him," Mouse said as Saku stopped crying so hard. "Hello, Saku. My name is Mouse."

"Mouse?" Saku lisped, brown eyes darting to look at her.

"Yep."

He stuck his thumb in his mouth and eyed both her and Taylor as he wrapped the other arm around Zac's neck. "Mama had to go," he said waveringly.

"Yeah." Mouse could feel his fear beating through the room. "Don't be so scared, ok?"

"I'm *not* scawed," he said haughtily.

"Yep. He's yours alright."

Zac and Isaac

Zac grinned and poked his tongue out at her.

"There you are," came Isaac's voice. "We have to... what's going on?"

Zac filled Isaac in, and when he was done, Isaac shook his head.

"I warned you about Nyx."

"Now, now," Zac said nervously. "Don't bad mouth Saku's mother."

"I wasn't going to. I was going to bad mouth you," Isaac teased.

"Funny."

"At any rate, I hope you have a really good explanation for Mom and Dad. We have to get going."

MOuse

"But look at him. He's so cute." Mouse stroked Saku's hair, soothing him empathically. A throbbing purr started to reverbrate through his chest as he closed his eyes drowsily and sucked on his thumb, leaning his head against Zac's shoulder. "And it's not like he has anywhere else to go anyway."

Taylor

"Go?" Taylor looked confused for a moment.

"Oh, right. Show to do. Umm..."

He looked Saku over.

"I guess all we can do is tell the truth," he shrugged, "mom will look after him no, doubt."

Isaac and Zac

"Of course we'll tell the truth," Isaac replied. "I'm referring to his conception."

"Oh," Zac breathed. "Yeah, that kinda crossed my mind too..."

"Mom is not gonna be happy to know you're sleeping around. Even if this time Nyx was in heat."

"Now, that's a good question. How do you tell your mother that her grandson is a cat?"

"Bestiality gone too far?" Isaac suggested.

"Funny."

"I thought so," and with a grin he started walking towards the tour bus.

Serafina

"Gunn!" Wesley called after him vainly, then sighed as he looked back down at Serafina. She looked at him with woebegone eyes. "Well, why don't we see if we can clean you up a bit." She nodded solemnly, and Wesley walked over to the kitchen. He sat her down on a chair and she kicked her legs slightly as he went and wet a cloth to wipe her tear stained face.

"Wes, Gunn went out to..." Cordelia walked in and then eyed Wesley oddly as he knelt by Serafina to wipe her face. "Who's kid is she?"

"Angel's," Wesley said calmly. "Hold your head up a little bit, dear." Serafina obediently tilted her face for Wesley as Cordelia gaped, for once lost for words.

"Yep, I'm not the only miracle child anymore," Connor said acidly as he made his way to the fridge and bent down to get something out of it.

"Nyx's?" Cordelia said faintly.

"Seeing as how Nyx appeared and dropped her off here for safekeeping, it would appear so." Wesley wiped Serafina's face, thinking how much she did look like Angel. Although he was pretty sure Angel had never had such an cute pout.

"I knew that cat was evil!" Cordelia declared loudly. Serafina's eyes flashed gold.

"Oh, Cordelia..." Wesley said desperatly, trying to draw Cordelia's attention to the minor volcano in the kitchen chair.

"My mama is not evil! You're a bad bad lady, and I HATE YOU!" Serafina flew off the chair and shifted into cat form halfway. She hit Cordelia's legs, and hissing, scrambled upwards clawing as she went.

"Serafina! Stop that at once." The kitten turned its head, and made the saddest face Wesley had ever seen on a cat, before dropping to th ground, turning back into the little girl and hurtling to grab onto his legs.

"I'm sorry! Please don't hate me!" Wesley shifted her slightly so he could pick her up again.

"I don't hate you, Serafina," he said gently.

"Really?" Big brown eyes stared at him soulfully.

"Not even a little bit. But you can't attack Cordelia like that. She's...an auntie."

"Auntie?" Cordelia raised her eyebrow. Wesley gave her a look, and she sighed. "Fine. Yes, Serafina, I'm your auntie Cordelia."

Serafina eyed her suspiciously. "Don't believe you."

"Would you believe me?" Wesley said wearily.

Serafina nibbled her bottom lip with tiny little fangs. "Ok. I'm hungry," she informed them.

"Cordelia, I think you're going to need to go shopping," Wesley informed her as he put Serafina back down on the floor. She pouted at being unattached to Wesley, then walked unsteadily to Connor. They eyed each other. "Connor..."

"*He's* Connor?" Serafina pointed at him. "Mama said I had to be nice to you 'cos you're," she paused to think, tongue poking out the side of her mouth, "my brother and you're...mentally disturbed and far too fond of pointy sticks." Welsey and Cordelia wiped their faces clean of amusement as Connor glared at them. Serafina beamed, then burrowed into the fridge. "Blood! Nummy!" The member of AI shared a glance as Serafina emerged, clutching a bloodbag in one hand. "Heat it up, please?" She padded over to Welsey and held it up. He took it from her.

"Sit down on the chair and I'll bring it to you in a moment. Cordelia, why don't you go clothes shopping for Serafina? And she'll need a bed, and a lot of those type of things too." Wesley put the bloodbag in the microwave and started it on the cycle Angel normally used.

"I think we have some of Connor's old stuff still," Cordelia said. Then got an evil look. "Can I use Angel's card?"

"I think that would be proper punishment." Wesley smiled slightly as he poured the now warm blood into a mug and gave it to Serafina. Her eyes glowed golden and he could see her fangs drop as she sipped contentedly.

Cordelia grinned. "Right. I'll go then." She left, and Wesley was left with a glowering teenager and a innocently smiling little girl. He didn't know which one terrified him more.

MOuse

"That's not a nice thing to say at all. You're lucky he's basically asleep, Ike!" Mouse hissed at Ike.

"What's beastiality?" A little sleep fuzzed voice piped up, and Mouse sent a deadly glare after one Isaac Hanson.

"You're a bad, nasty man, Ike."

Zac and Isaac

"I'll explain it when you're older," Zac told Saku, trying really hard to wipe the grin off his face.

"Sorry Mouse," Isaac replied, walking backwards so he could see her face. "Didn't mean to offend. But Nyx is technically a cat."

Mouse

"Technically, yes. But I'm thinking she was human shaped at the time." Mouse swung the deadly glare on Zac. "I would hope she was. I don't think even Zac is that nasty. And it's Saku I'm worried about."

"Me?" Saku's lip looked set to quiver again. Mouse sighed.

"I'm not mad at you, sweetie."

"Pwomise?"

"Yes, I promise. This time, I'm not mad at you." Saku flashed her a smile, then buried his face in Zac's shoulder again.

Zac and Isaac

"She was human at the time," Zac grinned. "Oh yes indeedy she was."

"Zac?"

"Yes, Ike?"

"Stop right there."

"Hee hee."

"Oh dear... Mouse? I understand why you're worried for Saku. Poor kid... corrupted from day of comnception just from half his genes being from Zac."

Mouse

"Nothing whatsoever to do with Nyx. I'm pretty sure he gets that pout from her," Mouse said thoughtfully. "Genetic. Like the charm. He's gonna be a heartbreaker."

Taylor

"Let's hope most of those genes come from Nyx's side of the family," Taylor grinned.

"As I said before, we don't need a younger version of this Zac Hanson running around. But as Ike said, we should probably get going."

He turned toward the bus, and began to follow Ike.

Zac and Isaac

"I think he's going to be a chip off -" Zac began.

"Oh there you are!" Diana said. "We've been wondering where you all are. Zac, who's this?"

Zac gulped.

"This is Nyx's son, Saku," Isaac cut in. "There's a bit of trouble in the heavenly regions and she wants us to look after him."

Nyx and Logan

Next stop. Nyx stepped out in Japan. Logan was meditating in a park. She headed over to him, Kanika on her hip. Solemn blue eyes regarded Logan carefully. Logan's eyes opened as he sensed Nyx's approach. His face was cold, then he smelt the child she was holding onto, and the general scent of Nyx. Fear, pain, smoke, grief and blood. He stood, face showing a little bit of concern.

"Hey, sexy." She gave him a tired grin. Kanika just looked at Logan with those big round eyes. "This is Kanika. She's yours...as you can probably smell from there."

"Nyx...what happened?" He asked carefully.

"Long story short? I was on heat, I got knocked up by different guys, I went to the Western Bank, Glory showed up, my mother's dead, I'm a goddess and on the run, and I have to leave my children and run so they have a hope of surviving," she finished in a tired whisper. Logan came over and put his hand on her shoulder.

"I'll take her." He took Kanika carefully from Nyx, something once more teasing at the edges of his memory as she clung to his neck. Black hair...he shook his head.

"Be good for your daddy, sweetie." Nyx's eyes glimmered with tears. "Give me a kiss, darling girl." Kanika lifted her head and Nyx kissed her cheeks. "Oh, this is getting harder each time..." Nyx blinked back the tears. "I love you, sweetie. Be good for daddy."

"Yes, mama."

"Ok. I'm going then." Nyx stepped back, eyes devouring the sight of Logan holding onto Kanika, tears slowly rolling down the little girl's cheeks. "Definetily going now." She turned on her heel before she stopped going and stepped through the portal.

Kanika looked up at Logan.

"I'll look after ya, darlin'. Don't you worry." Logan cradled her in his arms, then headed back to the hotel.

Mouse

"Isn't he sweet?" Mouse cooed. Saku yawned, displaying needlesharp little fangs, before dropping his head down on Zac's shoulder again. One eye sleepily watched Diana from under halfclosed eyelids as the little boy steadily purred. "He's adorable."

Isaac and Zac

"He certainly is," Diana agreed. "So, why did Nyx put him with us?"

Isaac was about to reply, but Zac shook his head.

"Because Saku is my son."

Diana clenched her jaw.

"Nyx was in heat at the time," he hurried on. "You know, cats... they get in heat and they just have to mate..."

"I'll vouch for him," Isaac put in. "I was there when Nyx made her advances. She was very -"

"Isaac I don't need to hear it," Diana said coldly. "It's quite obvious to me that nothing we are going to do is stop Zac from reproducing before marriage, unless it's carstration."

Zac winced visably.

"Don't expect any help from me, Zachary Walker Hanson. I may have wanted grandchildren one way, but this is..." she shook her head. "I could have waited a few more years."

She turned her back and headed to the bus.

"Well... that went better than I expected..." Zac said nervously.

MOuse

Saku made the saddest face Mouse had ever seen, and her mouth tightened with anger as the tears started again. Then a fireball leapt from Saku's fingers to Diana's feet. Mouse started to giggle as Saku put his head back down again and gave her an innocent look.

"Oops?"

"That was pure Nyx however."

Saku wriggled his fingers and the fire leapt back to them, before disappearing. "Fwire...pwetty." He beamed around at everyone except Diana, who was not looking impressed.

Nyx and Sabretooth

Nyx stepped back out into a room that stank of Glory. She almost turned around right then and left, and then she saw Sabretooth. Victory was in her arms, and the little girl sighed sadly.

"I'll miss you, mama."

"Miss you too, my littlest one." Nyx hugged her tight, both pairs of green eyes fixed on the surprised Sabretooth.

"What are you doing here...and how did you get here?" Sabretooth growled, protective instincts he thought were long dead kicking in over the little girl in Nyx's arms.

"This is your daughter, Victory. Keep her safe from Glory, or I'll hunt you down and kill you." Nyx put Victory down and small blonde headed girl walked over to Sabretooth carefully. "You already know what was happening today."

"Yeah..." Sabretooth watched the tiny scrap of being walk over to him without the slightest scent of fear. She then crawled onto his unmade bed, rolled over into a little ball and seemed to go straight to sleep. He looked back up at Nyx. "I'll watch her."

"Good boy." Nyx came over and kissed him, before wiggling her fingers in farewell. "Tell Glory that cats never forget. And even more rarely forgive." She disappeared into another portal. Sabretooth watched his daughter...his *daughter* sleep peacefully, and smiled slightly, before lying back down himself. She mumured in her sleep and cuddled up.

Zac and Isaac

"Saku," Zac said warningly, unable to look at his mother.

Oh please, let Saku not cause trouble. Okay, he was his son, so that was probably asking a bit too much, but still. May Saku's obvious charming side appeal to Diana! It would make things so much easier...

"C'mon," Isaac said. "Onto the bus we go."

Mouse

Saku made a pout face at Zac, then huffed as it had no effect. The kitten yawned wildly then lay his head against Zac's shoulder, falling asleep.

"Let's get on the bus while he's asleep," Mouse suggested softly. Fafnir, Bets. You two ready?

Steps ahead of you. Fafnir and Bets got onto the bus and lay down in their places as Mouse smiled.

"He really is sweet. To people who are nice to him first. Very cat- like." With that comment said, Mouse headed towards the bus.

Zac and Isaac

"Well, the only one Mom wasn't being nice to was me," Zac pointed out, following Isaac onto the bus. "And I deserved it."

"Oooh, look an admission," Isaac grinned.

"Oh shush."

Isaac chuckled and Zac prepared to deal with the response from the rest of his family.

Fred

Fred walked over wide-eyed. Angel had done it again? Crazy vampire, even crazier than her.

"HI sweetie," she said gently, "I'm Fred. Are you sleepy? I can take you up to a room, if you like," she asked Sarafina, not exactly sure what to make of the little girl.

Glory, Giles and Dru

Glory grinned evilly as she felt Bastet's life force drain away, and her power shift nto her body. THey, following the rituals, she ate Bastet, and swollowed the dead kittens whole. But one still had a heartbeat, though it was not moving. Glory had an idea. She could take her, and raise her as her own daughter. Then turn her against her sisters and brother. Glory smiled wickedly, and scooped the infant into her atms, before teleporting back to her penthouse.

"Clean this kitten up and heal her," Glory instructed one of her minions. "She is mine now, my daughter." she laughed evilly, and went off to take a bubble bath.

~*~*~

Giles came home from dropping Amanda off at school, and went inside. He saw Priss concentrating very hard, her hands hovering over a tiny kitten.

"Priss?" he asked, concerned. "What;s happened?"

~*~*~

Dru rocked Sabre in her arms. It was her turn to be the strong one. He needed her support. SHe hadn't seen this one coming, and that disturbed her. They had their own kittens to worry about, and Dru was afraid that Sabre would leave her. When bad things hapopened, people always left.

"Shh, shh, my Dark Prince. Just mourn your loss, and know that all will be well." She took Sabre's hand and placed it on her distended belly, so that he could feel his children.

Priss and Sabre

"Mother is dead," Priss said numbly as she worked quickly to save the kitten. One eye was ruined...she couldn't regenerate it. She let skin grow over the empty socket, and then went on to heal the broken bonmes the kitten had recieved in the fall to the floor. "Nyx is running. She managed to save this one..." Her voice choked, and then she threw her head back and howled her grief, retreating back behind her human facade for a moment. The pain too great to handle. "SHE'S DEAD!"

Sabre wailed, tears pouring down his face. "MAY THE EARTH CURSE YE, GLORY! MAY THE SUN HIDE ITS FACE FROM YE! MAY MISLUCK DOG YOU! MAY ALL YOUR PLANS COME TO NAUGHT! MAY YOU DIE SCREAMING AND BLEEDING!" He raked his free hand down his face, barely registering the pain as blood flowed. "MOTHER!" He tore at his hair, great clumps of the silky fine threads falling to the bedspread as he cried out.
