15 August 2003 - Ten pin bowling

Michelle and Tegan

2:00 onwards

Hunter and Oliver

"Alrighty!" Oliver said gleefully, rubbing his hands together. "Who wants to be on my team?"

"I will," Hunter grinned. "I am so gonna kick you butt."

"Oh yeah?"

"Yeah!"

"We'll see about that."

Friday, Oliver and Hunter

Jack and Mackie eyed each other.

"I'm gonna get ten strikes!" Mackie declared.

"Me too," Jack agreed.

Friday rolled her eyes. Just her luck that her little half brother should become friends with the Hanson who was the same age.

The Blacks hadn't gone back to Australia straight away. They figured since they were in the states, they may as well hang around for a couple of weeks. School didn't matter as they homeschooled their kids.

"Hey, Day, isn't it?" Hunter called. "You wanna join our team?"

Friday hesitated for a moment.

"Sure," she replied at last and walked over.

"Great," Oliver said gleefully, tapping in his name into the computer. "Oli, Tate, Hunt and Day."

"And of course you go first," Hunter said.

"Yes. Because I rule."

"Uh huh, yeah sure."

Mouse

"Faf, find Mackie," Mouse ordered, looking around for the little boy. Fafnir sniffed the air, then headed off unerringly in his direction. "Mackie! Don't get lost on me, 'k?" She looked around at the people clustered around the bowling computer. "Hi, people. Nice to see you again." Fafnir snarled, and she patted his head absently. "Don't mind the wolf."

Mackie, Jack and Holly

"Hi Mouse!" Mackie said cheerfully. "This is Jack."

Certain people on tour had opted to go to the tournament instead of hanging around for the New York concert.

"Hi!" Jack said. "Hey Hole, you playing with us?"

Holly wrinkled up her little six year old nose.

"'Okay," she replied. "But only if Zoe will too..."

Zoe

Zoe looked up in hearing her name. She grinned broadly.

"Yeah, I'll play!"

Blacks and Mackie

"Okay," said Jennifer, putting their names into the computer. "Jack, Hole, Mack and Zoe. Jack you're first."

"Goody."

Troy put the bumpers down so that the bowling balls wouldn't go in the gutters. Jack lifted his lightweight bowling ball and pused it down the lane.

"Yay! Three!" He said delightedly.

And the game progressed. Meanwhile on another lane, Oliver was getting his butt kicked, not only by Hunter, but by Friday.

"This is not fair," Oliver complained.

"No, what's not fair is that you two are so competitive that Tate is forced to come last," Friday put in.

Mouse

Mouse sat on a chair and watched the kids play, smiling slightly as she rubbed Fafnir's head. She'd left Bets with Taylor. Her eyes were a bit sad though; she'd missed all this type of stuff thanks to th Spider. Or the Eye, as he was now known. She sighed softly to herself, then cheered as Mackie hit down some pins. "You guys are doing so great," she told the four of them. "You'll havta teach me to play some time."

Mackie

"Haven't you ever played bowling before?" Mackie asked, wide-eyed. "It's easy! You throw the bowling ball the at pins and try to knock them down. If you get them all down in one shot, that's a strike. If you get them all down in two shots then you have a spare. For each pin you knock down, you get a point and you have two shots a round unless you get a strike. And in the tenth round, if you... umm... well, if you get a strike you get a second shot. ANd if you get a strike on that shot you get another one."

He paused.

"And I think if you get a spare on the tenth round you can get an extra shot... I don't remember."

Mouse

"Sounds complicated. You sure you think I could learn to play?" Mouse smiled. Kids were so cute. "You guys must be really smart to be able to play a complicated game like this."

Pups.

Shut up, wolf.

Fafnir sighed in affront as he propped his head up on her shoes.

Mackie and Jack

"You can learn," Mackie nodded. But our game is already going so you can't going ours."

"I'm winning!" Jack said gleefully.

Mouse

"C'mon Hansons!" Mouse cheered. Hey, she had a vested interest in the Hansons. "You can teach me sometime, ok, Mack? Zoe?"
