27 August 2003 - The Flaws Between The Lines

Nessa and Michelle

Faith and Paige

Faith watched Paige orb out. She stared at Zac's door for a long moment. She timidly raised her hand and went to knock on the door, then pulled her hand back.

"Come on, you can do it," Faith whispered to herself.

She took a deep breath and raised her hand and knocked on the door.

Isaac and Zac

Isaac opened the door.

"Hey, Faith," he said. "Come on in."

Then he turned to Zac who was lounging on the couch.

"Yo, Zac!" Isaac said. "Faith's here."

Zac looked up and smiled.

"Hi Faithy!"

"And on that note, I guess I'm going on another outing," Isaac grinned. "I'll be back in an hour or so."

Isaac grabbed his wallet and keys and left.

Faith

"Thanks Ike," Faith called after him with a little smile. She turned to Zac and moved closer to him.

"We should buy him a present."

Faith sighed and went over and bent down to kiss Zac.

"Hi."

Zac

Zac chuckled.

"Heh, yeah. He puts up with a lot of rot from me."

Zac put one hand behind Faith's head and the other around her waist. He kissed her in return gently.

"I hate it so much when we're apart like this," he said.

Faith

Faith nodded.

"Agreed."

She reached for Zac's hand after some hesitation.

"Well... I'd come along, but you know how that would be frowned upon by a certain member of your party."

Zac

Zac sighed.

"I wish it wasn't like that," he said. "Soooo... we have an hour..."

Faith

"Possibilities are endless," Faith said softly.

She leant over and kissed Zac passionately, wrapping her arms around his neck.

Zac

Zac gently lowered Faith backwards, kissing her passionately. His hands fiddled with her shirt.

It was ironic. He was feeling depressed enough about thinking Faith didn't love him any more to go get himself laid, and the person he was planning on having sex with was Faith.

"I love you."

Faith

Faith felt her heart race a little faster in alarm.

No, no, he didn't love her.

He wouldn't after he'd found out what she'd done.

Killed their baby.

"I love you too," she replied quietly. "But I know I'm going to lose you."

She gently caressed the side of Zac's face, smiling slightly as she looked at his arms around her waist. When she was in Zac's arms, it was one of the few times she could be happy again.

And yet she wasn't able to show him that.

Why?

Zac

Okay, let's put this into perspective:

Zac and Faith are alone in a hotel room.

What do you think they did?

Faith

Faith lay in Zac's arms, then leant over and kissed his cheek softly.

She gently disentangled herself from his arms and put her pants and shirt on again. She bent over, shivering and picked up one of Zac's jackets and shrugged it on, then headed into the bathroom and splashed cold water on her face.

She sighed as she looked at her haggard appearance in the mirror. She wiped her face and went back out to see Zac.

Zac

"Hey..." Zac breathed.

He got up then, slipped his arms around her waist and kissed her softly.

Faith

Faith kissed Zac, tears threatening to spill from her eyes.

"Hi," she said, her voice cracking with emotion slightly.

She brought her arms around his neck and hugged him close, leaning her head on his shoulder, feeling the depression hit her in waves.

Zac

Surprised, Zac held her closely.

"Hey, hey, it's okay," he said. "What is it?"

He rubbed her back gently.

Faith

"I killed our son..."

Faith burst into tears, unable to keep it in any longer.

"I..."

She knew she had to tell him, but she couldn't right now. He'd hate her, and she wasn't ready for that. She wasn't ever going to be ready for that.

"I love you, you know that, right?"

Zac

Zac kissed her cheek.

"Yes," he replied. "And I love you too. With all my heart and soul."

Faith

Faith hugged Zac tightly and buried her head onto his shoulder.

"But you won't soon... you won't, I know it. Because I hate myself for what I did, so I can't imagine how much you're going to hate me..."

"I... no one has ever loved me before. At all."

Zac

"Well, they didn't know what they were missing. They didn't get to see the amazing person you are."

Zac kissed her nose.

"And that's good for me because it means I have you all to myself," he grinned.

Faith

"Funny, I don't feel very amazing," Faith thought miserably.

She lifted her head from Zac's shoulder and kissed him again.

"I should probably get going soon, I don't want your mom to get mad at you."

Zac

Zac sighed and reluctantly let go.

"Okay. But I think you're being way too considerate," he replied. "I'd rather get in trouble for seeing you, than never seeing you."

Zac kissed her.

"And you are amazing. And incredible. And wonderful and fantastic and -"

Faith

"I... I could come on... the thirtieth. If you want me too, that is," Faith offered.

She kissed him back.

"No, you're all of those things and more."

She sighed.

"I don't want you getting in trouble because of me, I want you to have a real family."

"And we almost could've both had one... together."

Zac

"I always want you," Zac replied.

He stroked her face.

"I wish... I wish you and I could... I wouldn't mind havign a child with you, Faithy."

Faith and Paige

Faith pulled away suddenly from Zac.

"I... I gotta go."

She turned for the door.

"I'll come back on the thirtieth."

She opened the door and ran out, her heart pounding in her chest. "PAIGE!"

Paige orbed in and took her hand, and orbed them away.

Zac

Zac sat down slowly on the bad, wondering at Faith's abrupt departure. What did he say?
