Julie
"Honey," Mrs Williams began.
"I told you before," Julie cut in as she went about her packing. "I am going to this school, and you're not going to stop me."
"Now, sweetie, we know nothing about -"
"That's because you never bothered to listen. The Xavier Institute is a good school, Mom. I'll be able to continue my education and look after the twins."
"It's not even September yet. You only came out of the hospital recently."
"I know, Mom, but I want to have a chance to get myself settled."
"Honey -"
"Mom, please. Please don't make this harder than it is already."
"There is nothing wrong with the local school. I can look after the twins."
"That's not fair on you. Mom, you and Dad have been on my back about taking responsibility. And now that I am, you would try to prevent me?"
Mrs Williams sighed.
"I am going to this school, Mom. I turn eighteen next month, so you won't be able to stop me. Please... I don't want to leave with bad blood between us."
Her mother sighed again.
"Okay, Julie," she said reluctantly. "If it means that much to you."
"It does."
"Just promise me you'll come back during holidays and let us see the twins."
Julie smiled and nodded.
"I'll visit first chance I get," she assured her.
"Good."
