The Eye and Miette
The Eye stormed into the courtyard.
"You let him escape!" He shouted.
Miette casually looked up at him from gazing into the fountain.
"Let him? Why would I do that?"
"Why don't you tell me?"
Miette shook her head in disgust.
"He escaped on his own."
"Blind and powerless?"
"Blind, yes. Powerless, no. I'm not sure how he managed to use his powers without his sight, but he did," she giggled. "You should see that state of his cage!"
The Eye glowered at her. He had gone to visit the Hansons again, only to discover Isaac was there. Shielded people always irritated him. Walker was too, but at least he only had X-ray vision, harmless. Telekinesis was not. And neither was telepathy - Avery had presented the only real threat and now that she knew Isaac was alive all this efforts had gone to waste.
"Do you have any idea what you have done?"
"I haven't done a thing," Miette replied. "In fact I find it rather alluring that Ikey managed to escape. It should make -"
Furious, the Eye went into her mind to tweak a few things. Miette frowned, shook her head then then gave a yelp of pain. The Eye came out in surprise. That shouldn't have happened...
Miette turned on the Eye in a rage.
"How dare you! How dare you!" She shouted. "Dare to touch me again, telepath and I'll fry you to a crisp!"
Maybe that radiation had more effect on her than he realised. The heat emmitting off Miette grew stronger. And then the lasers came. They cut off his shirt, and there was a burning sensation. Then the heat died down, leaving the Eye thinking maybe he made a mistake turning Miette.
"You're mine now," she said calmly. "Now, begone before I decide to break my new toy."
The Eye's hand went to his chest. He looked. There was what looked like a tattoo in the shape of a 'M', rainbow coloured and in a fancy font.
"What have you done?"
"I've marked you. Now, leave."
"I could have your own servants kill you."
"With one laser I could blow your brain out."
Their eyes met for a long, silent moment. Then the Eye departed, pondering.
