Isaac and Miette

It was after the Minnaepolis concert that Isaac got a knock on his hotel door.

"Zac if you've forgotten," Isaac began opening the door. "Miette?"

He stared at her.

"Hi Ike," Miette smiled at him.

"Mi! What... how... where..."

She waved a finger at him.

"So many questions, and we have so little time."

"What do you - ahh!"

Zac

Sometime later, Zac unlocked the hotel room and stepped inside.

"Ike?"

There was no response.

"Huh. Must have gone out."

He had a shower and got ready for bed. Then he realised that Isaac still wasn't there. He opened up his bedroom door.

"Ike? Yoo hoo!"

Zac was about to close the door when he noticed a scrap of paper on his bed. He picked it up. There were only three words:

MIETTE WAS HERE!

"Why do I suddenly have a bad feeling about this?" Zac asked.

Zac put on a dressing gown and left the hotel room, paper in hand. He knocked on his parents door.

Walker

Walker groaned as Diana rolled over in bed.

Finally, he threw the sheets off himself and stood.

"Yes?" he asked as he opened the door.

"Oh, Zac. Is everything alright?"

Zac

Zac shook his head.

"I can't find Ike anywhere. And I found this in his bedroom."

Zac handed his father the note.

"That is not Ike's writing Dad. I can only assume it's Miette's, and she went missing!"

Walker

Walker's eyes darted over the note, a frown crossing his face.

"Ok, get dressed. Find Taylor and the others and see if they've seen him. If Avie can scan the minds of people in the lobby to see if they've seen him, get her to."

He folded the note and put it in his pocket.

"I'll get dressed and come to help."

Zac

"Okay."

Zac went back to his room, got dressed and then knocked on the door of the hotel room Taylor was sharing with Mouse.

"Tayles!" he sang gleefully. "I hope I'm not interupting any hanky panky, but I need to talk to you!"

Taylor

Taylor groaned and rubbed his eyes.

He rolled over to kiss Mouse, then got up and went to the door.

"Don't call me Tayles," he frowned as he opened the door.

"What do you want?"

Zac

"Our dear older brother has disappeare'e edge of the desk, making sure d. And I think it has something to do with Miette. I found a note that said 'Miette was here'," Zac reported. "C'mon, we have to see if we can find him! I'm gonna get Avery."

Taylor

"Miette?" Taylor looked confused.

He noticed Fafnir and Bets awake, and motioned for them to keep quiet.

"Ok..." he nodded softly, "I'll be out in a moment. I'll send the word out to the nightlife."

Zac

Zac nodded.

"Okay cool."

Then he walked down the hallway and knocked on Avery's door.

Avery

Avery opened the door, rubbing the sleep from her eyes to see Zac.

"You better have a good reason for waking me up, or you're a dead man."

Taylor and Walker

Taylor got dressed carefully so as not to wake Mouse up, then went to kiss her forehead.

"Back soon," he whispered in mix.

He made his way to the door, and slipped through quietly.

"Ok," he began.

"Taylor? Have you seen Isaac?" came Walker's voice.

He turned to his father.

"No, I haven't. Zac said he was missing, so I'm going to..."

"Tell the animals?"

"Yeah."

"Good. Let me know as soon as you hear anything."

"I will, Dad."

He watched his father head for the elevators, then sighed. He headed for the stairs, figuring it'd be easier to find animals through the door at the bottom.

Zac

"Ike's disappeared," Zac replied. "There was a note 'Miette was here', that for some strange reason or another makes me think Miette has something to do with it. Dad wants to you do some mind scanning, see if anyone's seen him."

Avery

Avery grabbed her sweater from the back of a chair and shrugged it on.

"Oh no..."

She rubbed the sleep compltely from the eyes and left her room, closing the door again.

"Sure, I think I can do that."

Zac

Zac nodded.

"Good," he said. "I'm going down to the lobby, see if I can see anything."

And on that he turned and headed down to the lobby.

Taylor

Taylor pulled the arms of his jacket over his hands and folded his arms as he made his way down the stairs.

He finally reached the bottom and opened the door to the outside.

A bang from a nearby trash can and the shadow of something running away told him there were more animals here than probably normal.

"Hello?" he called in mix.

"Who's that?"

"My name's Taylor. I need some help."

"You human? Human talking. Who you?"

"Where are you?" Taylor squinted.

A dark shape came towards him, and as it stepped into the light he saw it was a rat. A rather big one at that...

"Who you?"

"My name's Taylor," he said in rat, crouching down, "and I'm not human. I'm an alien, a Dathrian. I have the power to speak in any language, including rat."

"Oh. Need help?"

"Yeah, my brother's gone missing, I need to send the word out."

He looked around.

"No problem," the rat insisted.

Avery

Avery rubbed her arms slowly and went to her parents room.

"Dad? Mom? What did you need me to do?"

Diana

"Avie?" Diana looked up from putting her dressing gown on.

"Your father's down in the lobby. I think he just needs you to look around and see if anyone has seen your brother."

Avery

Avie nodded and headed down to the lobby and saw her dad.

"Hi Dad... I'll get started if you want?"

She started to reach her mind out into the stragglings of people
