Tegan and Joy

Sabretooth

Sabretooth studied the amber liquid in his glass, then drank it down, his metabolism neutralizing it almost before it made its way to his stomach. Well, last night had been fun. The fact that he had screwed the runt's former love through the mattress had made it sweeter. SO why was he feeling so down? No job, that was it. He really needed to get back onto the market and earn some more money. He growled at the bartender, flung some money down on the countertop and stalked out, hair making him look even more like an enraged lion then usual as he bristled with frustration and annoyance.

The people on the street got out of the way as he walked, hands shoved deep into pockets. A subverbal growl rumbled through his chest.

"Hello, Victor," a familair voice said. Sabretooth barely glanced at him, sensitive nose and hearing having picked up Magneto's approach.

"Piss off."

"Well, that response was not entirely unexpected," Magneto said dryly as he fell into step with Sabretooth. They continued on in silence for a bit. "I've come to offer you a job."

"Because that worked so well last time."

"Don't be so quick to turn me down. There is a new player involved..."

"Have a name?"

"Glory, or Glorificus."

"Never heard of them." But Sabretooth had, and he was getting interested despite himself. Glory was recruiting then...interesting. He'd heard things...but he hadn't thought Magneto was involved in that side of life. Having his extremely sensitive senses, he was aware of the magical flipside of the world. Hadn't thought Magneto did. "What's the pay like?"

"Very, very good."

"I want a contract." Sabretooth looked at Magneto fully for the first time. Didn't look that different. "In writing. Posted somewhere neutral to everyone."

"Fine." They walked on.

"So, when do I get to meet this Glory?"

"We can go now if you would like." Magneto smiled slightly as Sabretooth glanced at him. "Follow me then." The older man led the way to a alleyway, and Sabretooth followed suspiciosly. When a small bluefeathered demon popped up, its prismatic eyes whirling and beak clicking, he leapt backwards with a snarl. It hadn't been there when he walked into the alley.

"Miss Glory, is waiting," the demon informed them.

"We mustn't have that." Magneto smiled. "Let us go then."

"." The demon turned around and a whirling portal opened up. Magneto calmly walked through it, and Sabretooth hesitated for a moment, then followed him. He emerged in a lobby, and Magneto rearranged his clothes slightly.

"Come. She'll be waiting." Magneto started walking. Sabretooth slowly walked after him.

Glory

"Oh!" Glory cried, "This must be Viccy, can I call you Viccy?" she asked, not waiting to hear a response. "Anyway, I have a proposition for you. I'm taking over the world. Well, the heavens and the underworld, that is. And, if you join me, you'll have a coveted spot, and be revered as a god. Whaddya say?" she asked, cutting straight to the point.

Sabretooth

Sabretooth gave Magneto a 'you've got to be kidding me' look. "Is she for real?"

"Yes." Sabretooth's eyebrows went up slightly as Magneto's calm answer.

"Sounds like you've got yaself a mercenary. Who do ya want dead?" Sabretooth turned back to Glory.

"Splendid."

Glory

"Well, I've been devouring the Hindu gods, I've reached onehundred. And I have all their power in me now. But I want you to help me go after Loki. He's a nasty god, and I need back-up, if he's up to his old tricks," Glory said, spinning around in circles to show off her pretty red dress.

Sabretooth

"Pay me well, and I'm yours. Long as no one else offers me a better deal." Sabretooth shrugged. "Guessing you've got spellcasters already then. I'm just muscle."

"Don't put yourself down," Magneto said.

Sabretooth shot him an ugly grin. "But I'm damn good at what I do."

Glory

"Good, good. You can name your price, and I can acquire it, that's no problem. But first, I want you to do something for me, to prove that you'll be loyal. I need you to go to New York, and capture Charles Xavier and bring him to me. Next to that bitch Tanya, he's the strongest living telepath. You bring him to me, alive, and we will have a business relationship." Glory said, sitting leisurely on her couch, sipping her mimosa.

Sabretooth

"Hey, I don't have to work for you." Sabretooth growled. "Got one of those head thingies?" He turned to Magneto, his pride stung to the quick.

"I believe I could lend you something similair." Magneto didn't let his concern touch his voice. Charles had chosen his own path. Unfortunately, it meant they were on opposite sides.

"Good. And I'm only loyal to me." Sabretooth swung on his heel and left. Magneto bowed his head in respect to Glory.

"He is a little uncouth, but as he said, he's very good at what he does."

Glory

"I'm going to have to whip some manners into that boy," Glory said, sighing. "But I can do it. I'm a freaking god!"

Magneto

"You do, you'll lose him," Magento warned her in a quiet voice. "He won't stand for it. Believe me. You can't tame a cat."

A snarl resounded from behind the door. Magneto winced.

"I better get going. Until next you need me, illuminated Glorificus. And may I say that dress is very becoming." Magento dipped his head again, and touched his fingers to his forehead in a salute. "I will instruct Victor in the correct forms of address."

Glory

"PLease do. And if he mouths off like that again, he might find his tongue on a chain around his neck. Let him know that," she said. "Now, get out of her," she wved her had, and then called for one of her minions to draw her a bath.

Sabretooth

"Actually, he's talked more today then I've ever known him to do. Farewell, most beautiful Glorifius." Mageneto walked out of the room and went to find Sabretooth, who was stalking up and down the corridor snarling to himself. "Don't be stupid around her. I know you aren't."

"I'm not in the mood for you, Magneto. You left me to die."

"*I* was being taken to a holding facility. It is only thanks to Mystique that I escaped." Magneto started walking down the corridor. Sabretooth sullenly followed him. "I would suggest not opening your mouth around her at all. She's less forgiving then I, and assuredly more unbalanced." He opened the door to a room and went inside. "Wait here."

Sabretooth leaned against the wall and looked bored as he listened to Magneto move around.

"Here. Place this over your head, and Xavier won't be able to pick you up." Magneto placed a diadem in Sabretooth's waiting hand. The catlike mutant slipped it over the top of his head.

"See ya when I get back then." Sabretooth started to make his way back to the foyer area they had arrived in.

"Tell anyone here that you're on a mission for Glory, and they'll be more then glad to help." Magneto entered his room and closed the door behind him.

"Damn this...why am I working with him again?" Sabretooth wondered to himself as he set off to kidnap Xavier.

~*~*~*~

After a while, a few threats and a lot of growling, Sabretooth was 'ported to Charles's office. He simply stuck a needle in the older man's arm.

JEAN! Xavier called out as he started to slip into unconsciousness. It's Sabretooth... And then he was out. Sabretooth hefted the wheelchair and stepped back through the portal.

"Got him. Tell Glory," he said briefly to one of the odious little grey minions that scurried all over the place.

Glory

"Oh great shiny perfect one," the minion said to Glory.

"Yeah, what?" she asked.

"Mr. Creed has returned with his bounty."

"Oh yummy, let me inspect." she went over to Charles, and looked him over, then she waved her hand over his face, and knew that he could not get away.

"Oh, what a pretty little giftie!" she cried. She kissed Sabretooth on the cheek as a thank you.

Sabretooth

"I prefer brunettes." Sabretooth moved away, arms crossed and scowling darkly. If he wasn't working for her...

"Which would of course, fit in with the fact that he's no gentleman. As everyone knows gentlemen prefer blondes," Magneto inserted smoothly. Sabretooth's mouth twitched.

"Do I get paid now?"

"Victor, don't be so crass..."

"I work best when the money keeps coming."

Glory

Glory sighed, and waved her hand, a satchel of gold coins appearing on the table.

"Yeah yeah, now, get out of my sight."

Sabretooth

Sabretooth snatched it and left without another word.

Magneto looked at Charles and sighed slightly.

"Until you need me again, most glorious and beautiful one." He bent his head in Glory's direction.

Glory

Glory saw the look Magneto gave Charles.

"Wait," she said. Erik turned back to face her.

"Yes?"

"You loved him, didn't you?" she asked, pointing to Charles. Erik sighed.

"Yes, once. We were lovers for over a decade."

"I don't understand this human need for love. I mean, sex I understand, but how can people like having emotions?"

"Well, when I figure it out, I will let you know," he said, laughing roughly. Glory took pity on him.

"You can have Xavier, until I need him. You may keep him in your quarters for now."

Magneto

"Thank you, oh great Glorificus," Magento said as he took the handles of Xavier's wheelchair. "I'm sure he'll appreciate a familar face in strange surroundings...come on, *friend*." Magneto left, wheeling Xavier's wheelchair. The telepath's eyelids fluttered momentarily, then closed again.

Glory

Glory grinned. This was going to be fun. She was slowly decimating the heavenly bodies. SHe giggled and put on a dance club cd and started dancing, in her red dress.
