17 August 2003 - Going home to rest

Tegan

Nyx

Nyx sat up on the hotel bed she was napping on and felt the last traces of that indescriable heat drain away. It had been fading over the last day or so, and now...it was all gone and she could think to focus again on something *other* then sex. And how many different times and ways she could do it with different guys. Which reminded her. Oh goddess, she'd done that to Logan? Yes, yes she had. Idiot cat.

And then something in her stomach moved.

Nyx put her hands flat over her stomach, and nearly stopped breathing as she felt the something execute a long slow somersault. Tears started to drip from her eyes. Kittens. She was going to have kittens. She'd wanted them for so long...and while she knew all the intellectual reasons for why she couldn't have any, she had still longed for them.

Bastet appeared on the bedspread and Nyx looked at her, too happy to throw things at her mother.

"You did this."

Well, yes. Bastet licked a paw delicately.

"Why?"

I thought you'd all grown up enough. And there is need for more kittens. Dangerous times.

"Glory, you mean?"

Yes. There is an increasingly high possibilty that she might devour some of the gods. In which case, we'll need replacements. Bastet looked at her daughter with glowing golden eyes. And I wanted you to be a mother. And since I can't do it to you without also involving your siblings...even if I think their choice of prtners are somewhat weak, you have made me proud.

"Wait, you were *watching*? Ew!"

Bastet looked amused. No. I wasn't watching. Shall we go home?

"Yes...I think I need to give birth there. Surrounded by the magic of Egypt..."

Good girl. You've always been more in tune then Priss and Sabre.

"In tune?"

You don't always use those almost human parts of your mind to think. You are my most loved and eldest daughter.

"Really?"

Really. Shall we go?

"Yes." Nyx stood, and the two of them disappeared from this plane.
