Chloe, Kirk and Christian
"How the heck did you get that number?" Chloe frowned, and whacked Kirk on the shoulder.
"Hey! Ix-nay, on the hurting-ay."
"Wuss."
Kirk dialled the number into his cell phone, and waited for an answer.
*****
Christian looked up as the phone rang and groaned.
"Now what?"
He grudgingly got up from the table and went to answer it.
"Hello? Tanya's phone."
"Hey Chris man! How ya doing?"
Christian hesitated, a frown spreading across his face.
"Steel?"
"You betcha. How are ya man?"
Christian groaned and ran his fingers through his hair.
"Ok, I'm ok. How the heck did you get this number?"
"Contacts."
"Yeah what contacts?"
"Wouldn't you like to know?"
"Yes, yes I would. Did you call for a reason?"
"Man I'm just checkin' up on ya, sheesh. Thought you would have liked to hear from me. I'm glad you set yourself up man."
"Set myself up?" Christian almost laughed, "I'm house-sitting for the strongest female telepath on Earth-"
"A mother figure."
"-who doesn't... So what?"
"So..."
"So what?"
"So it's like house-sitting for your mother. You're being a good little boy."
"You want me to hang up on you or what?"
Kirk grinned. That Christian attitude.
"Chill man. What have you been doing besides house-sitting?"
"Nothing. What have you been doing?"
"What I always do, of course. Hang out."
Chloe leant over Kirk's shoulder.
"Hi Christian," she called.
"Chloe?"
"Yeah, that's Chloe. She's been following me like a lost shadow."
She hit him again.
"Well say 'hi' to her for me."
"You didn't even say 'hi' to me."
Christian hesitated.
"I said 'hello'."
"Not once you knew who I was."
Christian hesitated again, grinding his teeth slightly.
"Ok, so 'hi'. Can I go now?"
Kirk rolled his eyes.
"I have your number man. You'll be hearing from me."
"Yeah sure."
And Christian hung up.
