Faith
Faith opened one eye sleepily and glared at her phone. There was no way someone was ringing at this hour. She glanced at the clock. It was 8am.
"Ugh, too early."
Faith grabbed her phone and looked at the screen. Hmm, the Hanson home. She picked it up.
"Hello?"
"Hello Faith?"
Faith bit her lip and rubbed her eyes. "Diana, hi."
"I didn't wake you, did I?"
"Uh, no. How can I help you?"
"Well, I was just wondering if you and I could meet for a coffee?"
"Yeah, sure. Same place?"
"Yes, I'll see you there in an hour."
"Bye."
Faith hung up and groaned. She went and showered, then selected some baggy dirty denim jeans and a black singlet. She dressed and looked at the clock and sighed.
Grabbing her phone and her wallet, she locked the house and headed out to meet Diana.
"Morning Faith," Diana said pleasantly when she saw Faith.
Faith smiled nervously and sat down at the table with her. "Morning."
The conversation was delayed by the waitress taking their orders then returning minutes later with the coffees.
"Faith?" Diana said.
Faith looked up from her coffee. "Yes?"
"Do you know why I've asked to see you?"
"If we're going by our previous topics of conversation, I'd say that Zac was the reason again, for this visit."
"As you know, they're going on tour soon."
"Yes."
"Well, I was just wondering, do you think you'll be going along with them?" Diana asked, straining to keep her tone casual.
Faith shrugged. "Zac and I really haven't discussed it."
"Do you believe it would be a wise idea?"
Faith blew gently on her coffee. "Diana, if you don't want me to go, you can just say it outright, I won't be offended."
"Well, I don't think it would be a good idea. After all, Zac needs to focus on his music, and the tour."
"I - "
"Please," Diana held up her hand. "I really do believe it would be better for you to stay here."
Faith sighed. "Look, whatever is decided, it will be because Zac and I want that to happen. But I assure you, that I will let you know. Now, if you don't mind, I have quite a busy day today. So... thanks for the talk."
Faith stood up and placed some money on the table then headed back home.
