Zac and Isaac
"Zac?"
"Yep?"
"What are you doing?"
"Going through Mom's baby name book."
"Why?"
"Well, see, Julie doesn't know what she's naming her baby. And then there's Dez's baby. I'm going to have to think of a name for him."
"Zac, she's not due for what? Another eight, seven months?"
Taylor
"Hey guys," Taylor said, entering the room.
He headed straight for the piano and dropped a book and pile of papers on the nearby desk.
Then he spotted the book on Zac's lap.
"What's up?" he asked curiously.
Isaac and Zac
"Zac appears to be deciding on baby names in advance," Isaac mused.
Zac glanced at Taylor and chewed his lip. Isaac noticed this and raised his eyebrow.
"You haven't told him?"
Zac shook his head.
Taylor
"Suddenly I'm worried," Taylor's eyes darted between them as he froze, one hand on the piano.
"Haven't told me what? Or... is this not a good time?"
Isaac and Zac
"Nope," Isaac replied, grinning, "now is a perfect time. Zac..."
Zac gave Taylor an embarrassed smile.
"Well... about a month ago, I got drunk, and slept with this girl, Desiree. She's a mutant, but the way. And umm, now she's... she's pregnant."
Taylor
Taylor hesitated as it sunk in. He opened his mouth to say something, but nothing came out.
He closed it again, scratched his head, then opened it again.
"Woah," he began, eyebrows up, "and... and everyone's ok with this? It's all sorted?"
Zac and Isaac
"Yeah, everything's been sorted," Zac nodded. "Dez didn't want to keep the baby, so she left it up to me what happened to it. I decided to keep it."
He looked down at the book.
"Faith was forgiving," Isaac grinned. "Dad's forgiving too. Mom is... another story."
"Mom is this far away," and Zac held his thumb and finger an inch apart, "from locking me in my room for the rest of my life."
Taylor
"Good," Taylor nodded, "good that it's sorted."
He grabbed a nearby stool and brought it over so he could sit in front of his brothers.
"And I don't blame mom," he grinned, "what wa sthat Mouse said? On permanent heat. That's it. Although I'm guessing that urge has kinda died down right now."
Zac and Isaac
"Well..." Zac said. "Faith got some magical birth control device thingy whatsit from Nyx. So... no."
Isaac groaned.
"I think the only thing he's learned is never get drunk again."
Taylor
Taylor laughed.
"Yeah well, I'm not surprised."
He leant forward a little to start reading the book upside down.
"Any names stand out inparticular?"
Zac and Isaac
"Hmm... no... not really..." Zac replied. "But then, I am seriously consideing naming him Zachary Walker Hanson the second."
"How come I am not surprised?" Isaac asked drolly. "And what if it's a girl?"
Zac stared.
"I didn't think of that..."
Taylor
"Oh no, we definately do not need a younger version of this Zac Hanson running around," Taylor shook his head, "this one's scary enough."
He leant back.
"Guess you'd better start looking at girls' names too. When's she due?"
Zac and Isaac
"Umm, well..." Zac thought. "I think it's a month and a half now... errr..."
"February," Isaac supplied.
"See? I am obviously not ready to be a dad. Ike should be the father."
"Ike is too sensible to get random girls pregnant."
"Ike is a boring person."
"Ike might be boring but at least he can add."
Taylor
"Ike is multi-talented," Taylor added with a grin.
"Speaking of which... Zac, how's that new solo you were working on?"
Isaac and Zac
"I finished it!" Zac said cheerfully. "Umm... now where did I put it? Ah ha!"
Isaac chuckled.
"Zac... there are words for people like you."
"Yeah. pity you don't know what they are."
Taylor
"Cool, I wanna hear it," Taylor grinned.
His eyes darted to Isaac.
"Do you know what they are?" he chuckled.
Isaac and Zac
Isaac counted them off on his fingers.
"Intolerable, mischeivous, absent-minded," he paused and a cheeky grin crossed his face, "fertile."
"Oooooh... low blow, low blow!" Zac hissed, but there was a smile on his face.
Taylor
Taylor grinned at Zac.
"And here we were thinking that Ike could add. He said two words."
He leant forward a little, then back again.
"I believe that was three, no, four," he quickly amended, "five if you wanna get technical."
Isaac and Zac
"Umm okay... Tay? I said there were 'words' for people like Zac. Not one word," Isaac pointed out.
Zac snickered.
"I think he was referring to you counting them off on your fingers."
"Hmm? Oh," Isaac laughed.
Taylor
"Ike? You did it again," Taylor chuckled.
"I said you said there were two words. Now you're saying that I said you said there was one."
He hesitated, a confused look crossing his face.
"And I just confused myself. Zac! Song! Where is it?"
Zac and Isaac
Zac waved a piece of paper in Taylor's face.
"Here!" he said.
"Then let's hear it," Isaac said.
"Okay!"
Zac sat down at the piano and played the song. When he finished, he turned to his brothers for their responce.
Taylor
Taylor nodded his approval.
"That's pretty cool. Too late to put it on Underneath, but... you know. Good enough for a record."
He leant back and stretched.
"How long did you work on that one?"
Zac and Isaac
Zac shrugged.
"A week all up? I kept getting interupted."
"I like it too," Isaac agreed. "Hey, seeing as we're all here, maybe we should have a practice?"
Taylor
"Yes!" Taylor exclaimed, clapping his hands together.
"I vote practice. We have our first tour coming up in..." he hesitated, closing one eye, "however many days."
He got off the stool and went to fetch his guitar.
"Let's get this show on the road," he grinned.
Isaac and Zac
Isaac and Zac fetched their own guitars.
"Tour starts next month," Zac said geelfully. "Y'know, if the world hasn't blow up before then."
Isaac snickered, and the three Hansons started practicing.
