Isaac
Isaac had to phone numbers in front of him. One from Chrissy, the other from Madison.
And he had no idea who to call first.
Fact is, he knew as much about Chrissy as he did Madsion. Zero. Zip, ziltch, nil, nada, nothing, nought. A grand total of diddly squat.
So... how could he choose?
Well... there was always eenie meenie minie mo... but Isaac knew that with only two options it would land on the second one. He could shuffle them around and pick one at random. Or maybe he should put one napkin in one half of the room, the other in the other half, spin himself around until he got really dizzy with his eyes closed and then call the one who's half of the room he was facing when he stopped.
At last, after much deliberation, he picked up Chrissy's.
First in first serve - she gave him her number first.
He picked up the phone and dialed.
Chrissy
Chrissy had just finished getting dressed when her phone started to ring. She walked over to it and answered.
"Hello?"
She sat down on her bed and tried to put her socks on with one hand then gave up.
Isaac
"Hi, Chrissy?" Isaac said. "This is Ike. From P3 last night."
What was he nervous? Argh. He was always nevrous calling girl he barely knew.
He wondered why that was.
Chrissy
Chrissy threw her sock down and stuck her tongue out at it.
"Oh hey Ike, how are you?"
Isaac
"I'm good," Isaac replied. "And yourself?"
He telekinetically pulled his char out and sat on it.
Chrissy
Chrissy grinned and worked an illusion that she was wearing socks.
"I'm pretty good, a bit tired from work, but hey. So, what've you been up to since we spoke last?"
Isaac
"Not much," Isaac replied, putting his feet up on the desk. "Got a practice in this morning, but that's about it."
"OKay, you can do this Ike. It's not that big a deal. Heck she probably even knows it's coming!"
"Okay, well, I was wondering if you'd like to hang out wiht me sometime?"
Chrissy
Chrissy's smile got a bit wider. She cast an illusion that she was sitting on the beach and lay down on the sand... which was actually her bed.
"Um, yeah sure. That'd be cool. Did you have anything in mind?"
Isaac
"I don't know, maybe a movie, if there's anything on," Isaac suggested. "Dinner, maybe?"
Why was it there were never any ideas better than 'dinner and a movie'?
Chrissy
Chrissy paused. She was supposed to work, but there were going to be four wait staff on. Piper would be ok with it.
"Yeah, sure, that'd be nice."
Chrissy grinned again and kicked her legs up in the air.
Isaac
"Cool. So umm... when would you like to go?" Isaac asked.
"Breathe you moron," he told himself. "Gee, it's not like you're asking her to marry you, for goodness sake."
But then, he supposed he hadn't had all that much luck with women, so maybe his nerves were justifed.
Chrissy
"Oh... well... that's up to you. I'm pretty much free whenever."
Chrissy mentally kicked herself. Wow, that didn't sound pathetic.
Isaac
"Umm, well, you have to work tonight don't you?" Isaac checked, remembering them talking about it the day before. "What about tomorrow?"
Chrissy
"Yep, working tonight... tomorrow, hmm."
Chrissy padded out of her room to the fridge and looked at the roster.
"Yep, tomorrow is good."
Isaac
"Okay, cool," Isaac said. "What time shall I pick you up? And more importantly, at what address am I picking you up from?"
Chrissy
"Um... six, seven?"
Chrissy laughed and gave him the address of her place.
Isaac
Isaac wrote it down (with a pen he was holding telekinetically).
"Okay, I'll meet you at 6:30, tomorrow night." he smiled.
That settled, they soon hung up.
