Faith
Faith left her house heading for the shops. She wanted to buy something for Zac, because he'd been so good to her... well, always. It was almost unbelievable that he was willing to stick around, even after the 'Faith went evil and started killing and then tried to kill Zac' fiasco. She didn't deserve him.
She was almost there when she felt someone following her. She turned around to see more cops. They dragged her into an alley.
"Oh, hey boys," Faith said playfully, but somewhat nervous.
"We've been sent to ask you a few questions."
Faith nodded and folded her arms as two of the cops grabbed her and held her down while the other began to hit her with their batons. She struggled with all her strength and managed to throw one off her, but he came right back, and held on more tightly onto her. She was starting to lose consciousness when she heard the safety latch of a gun being clicked. She looked up with blurry eyes to see a barrel pointed at her face.
Zac
Zac had been driving to Faith's house, and on the way decided to stop at the shops and buy her something. Maybe some chocolate. Chocolate was always good. And maybe this time they'd eat it the conventional way.
He got out of the van and heard some commotion not far off, and so decide to check it out.
It was Faith. And two cops were beating her up. One had a gun.
"Nooooo!" He exclaimed.
He flung himself inbetween Faith and the gun, just as it went off, despite his last minute attempt to freeze the cops. He felt a sharp pain, he fell back, blood immediately beginning to emerge.
Faith
The cops backed off and one of them signalled for them to leave, and Faith was dropped. Through her tears, she watched as Zac fell to the ground, and red hot anger surged coursed through her body. She stood up, forgetting about bruises and broken ribs and grabbed the cop who had been holding the gun and snapped his neck. The others ran and she fell to the ground, lifting Zac's head into her lap.
"No, Zac!" she screamed.
Zac
The bullet had pierced his chest, making it difficult for him to breath. He sought out Faith's eyes.
"Faith..." he gapsed, his voice fading with every word. "I... I... love... you..."
He closed his eyes.
Faith, Piper and Paige
Faith's tears fell onto Zac's face.
"No, oh god no." She leant down and kissed him softly, still crying. "Zac, oh god, no... please, don't... PAIGE!"
Paige orbed in and saw the two of them, took their hands and orbed them back to the Manor. Faith lifted Zac onto the couch.
"Heal him, do it now."
Paige lifted her hands above Zac's chest and tried to heal him. Nothing.
Faith looked at Paige through tear filled eyes. "Heal him."
"I can't."
"Try again."
Paige tried again. Still nothing. "Faith, I think... I can't heal him because he's - "
"Don't you dare say it!" Faith cried, as Piper appeared in the room carrying a towel and a bowl of water.
"Here, open his shirt."
Faith unbuttoned his shirt and gasped at the bulletwound. Piper motioned to her. "Faith, you have blood all over you, go get some of my stuff, and I'll clean this up."
"No... I'm not leaving him until he is healed. Paige, try again!"
"I can't."
"Do it, just do it! I am not losing him..."
Paige shook her head sadly, but tried again. "Faith, it's not going to work."
"It has to, Paige, it just has to... oh God, I can't lose him, please, no, Zac..." Faith begged, weeping desperately as Piper started to clean his wound.
Zac
Zac had the vague impression of people around him. There was a sensation of pain, but it was distant, as if he and his body were in seperate rooms.
"Faith..." he whispered... blinking his eyes briefly.
He fell back into unconsciousness.
Faith, Piper and Paige
Faith caressed Zac's face gently. "Please don't die on me, I love you."
Paige tried healing again. "It's not working."
"Make it work." Faith barely lifted her eyes from Zac's face. "I'm not losing him..."
"But Faith - "
"MAKE IT WORK!" Faith cried out.
"I may have an idea... I'll be back." Piper ran upstairs.
Zac
It was hard to breathe... just so hard...
But Faith was there... he had to...
Just had to.
Faith, Piper and Paige
Piper came running back down the stairs holding a piece of paper.
"I've got it!" she called.
Faith looked away from Zac for a split second. "A piece of paper? Please tell me that paper is magic and it's going to help."
"Kinda. Here." Piper handed it to Faith and she looked at it.
"Wow... a poem. Piper, my lover is dying in front of me and you've given me a poem."
Piper shook her head. "Paige, stand in front of Faith. Faith say it. You'll swap powers with Paige, and maybe then... maybe you can heal him."
"At this point, anything looks good, ok."
Paige moved in front of Faith. "Will it hurt?" Paige asked.
"It shouldn't." Piper shrugged.
"What's mine is yours, what's yours is mine, let our powers cross the line, I offer up this gift to share, switch our powers through the air," Faith said and watched as an orb floated from Paige's body to hers.
"Did it work?" Paige asked.
"Try healing Zac," Piper suggested to Faith.
Faith lifted her hands above Zac's wound and concentrated. "Come on, heal, dammit."
Nothing happened and Faith looked desperately up at Piper. "It's still not working."
"You have to find the trigger. What makes Paige's power work."
"Well, what is it?"
"I can't tell you, coz I'm not even sure," Paige said.
Faith looked at them angrily. "So, you swap our powers and then tell me that there is a trigger for a power? And now... now Zac is going to die because I don't know if I can work it out in time!" Faith's eyes went back to Zac and she let out a choked sob. "I'm sorry, baby... I don't know what to do... but thank you for saving me, over and over... I love you, and I can't live without you."
Faith's hands began to glow and Zac's wound slowly healed. She looked up.
"Zac?" she asked hopefully.
Zac
Zac blinked.
"Faith?"
He frowned.
"What happened? I was..." his hand flew to his chest. "I... I... was it a dream? I was sure..."
Faith
Faith smiled through her tears.
"Oh my god, you're ok... it worked. I healed you... whoa." She kissed Zac's head. "You are ok, right?"
Zac
"Umm... yeah... I think so..." Zac replied. "Just... confused."
He reach up and touched Faith's face.
"You healed me? So... so I was shot? It's all a blur..."
Faith
Faith took the wet cloth from Piper and wiped the blood from Zac's arms and neck.
"Yeah, you were shot. But you're ok... and oh God, please don't scare me like that again." Faith ran her hand through Zac's hair.
Zac
"I'll try," Zac smiled. "Wow... that cloth is getting red. Just how much blood - actually, don't answer that. I don't want to know. Hey, I knew you healed quicker, I didn't know that you could heal other people?"
Faith
Faith bit her lip.
"See... well, normally I can't. But Paige wasn't able to heal you, she tried over and over and then Piper found this spell sorta thing, and I swapped powers with Paige... and then I was able to heal you. I'm not sure why I could and Paige couldn't, but I'm extremely grateful that I could."
Zac
"Hmmm... I'm grateful too," Zac grinned.
He attempted to sit up.
"Whoa... dizzy..."
And laid back down again.
Faith, Paige and Piper
Faith kissed his head.
"Just lay down. I'll get a new cloth." And on that, a new one appeared in her hand.
"Uh... huh?"
Paige smiled. "You've still got my power. That's why."
"Oh this means I'm all... orby and stuff." Faith grinned. "But we should probably swap back."
"Probably. We'll do it later, first I wanna go test out my newly acquired strength." Paige stuck her tongue out and ran off to the basement with Piper chasing after her.
Faith looked at Zac again. "Well, you can stay here, or, I can orb you home. Maybe. Depending on if I can work out how to orb."
Zac
"Umm... I should probably get cleaned up before I go home. Mom'll never accept you if I come home covered in blood," Zac said ironically.
Faith
Faith nodded. "A good point there. Come on, you can get cleaned at my house."
She closed her eyes and concentrated on her house and managed to orb them there.
"I could get used to this." She helped Zac to his feet and into the bathroom.
"Can you... stand, or do you want a chair or something?"
Zac
Zac frowned.
"No, I think I can manage..." he said. "I'll just umm, I'm sure I can brace myself against the wall if I have a problem."
Faith
"Ok... well, scream if you need a hand."
Faith gave a little smile and put some of his clothes in the bathroom near the shower. She closed the door and went and sat on her bed.
Zac
Zac somehow managed to get himself washed.
When he was done, he took a deep breath and stepped out of the shower. He dried himself and spotted his clothes, which he put on.
Fortunately, the dizziness and all had subsided. He was just a little tired. He left the bathroom.
Faith
Faith walked over to Zac as he came out of the bathroom. She kissed his head.
"I'll take you home?" she asked. "Thank you, by the way, for coming to the rescue, again."
Zac
Zac smiled and kissed her back.
"Aww, anything for you," he said. "But right now I could use some sleep."
Faith
Faith nodded and orbed them into Zac's room. She helped him over to his bed and lay him on top then kissed his head.
"Sleep now, love. I'll see you later."
She kissed him again and then orbed out.
Zac
Zac smiled faintly, before closing his eyes and going to sleep.
