Faith
Faith stared at her phone. She dialled in Mouse's number after some hesitation and let it ring. If Mouse didn't forgive her, it was up to her, and in all fairness, Faith really didn't deserve forgiveness from anyone.
"Hey, um Mouse?" Faith said timidly.
MOuse
"Faith?" Wary suspicion couloured Mouse's tone. "If you're evil again, I will kill you this time. And I would keep this promise."
^Motherwhathappen?^ ^Lovereassurance.^ She ran a hand over her still flat stomach.
"Kinda freaked out by the whole gun thing, and the threats to take me back to the labs. Because I swear to God, Faith, if you *ever* try that again, I will kill myself before I go back."
Faith
Faith bit her lip.
"Yeah... um... I'm not evil anymore. At least I don't think I am. This is gonna sound so pitiful, but I'm sorry. I don't know what happened to me... something just clicked and I couldn't stop it. I never should've done anything I did... and I'm really sorry for doing that to you."
Mouse
"So...defintely not evil and the mind warpy thing is at least banished for the moment?" Mouse asked suspiciosly.
Faith
"Yeah. It feels gone. I'm really sorry, and I know that doesnt always solve everything, and I will understand if you don't want to talk to me again, hell, I hate being around myself at the moment. If you don't trust me... that's alright. Well, it's not alright, but I do understand."
Faith took a deep breath.
Mouse
"Trust is an issue with me with everybody at the moment. The only people I trust are Faf, Bets and Tay. So, don't feel alone. I'm being extremely paranoid lately." Mouse rubbed her forehead tiredly. "Very good reason to be, believe me. Oh, and guess what? I'm still a virgin, but I'm pregnant," she said in a falsely happy tone. "Don't you love the US government?"
Faith
Faith smiled. "Ah, the US government... everyone's best friend. How you feeling after that? Wait, that was a stupid question..."
She took a deep breath. "Look, when you're feeling up to it, we should catch up. In person, but yeah, I know it could be awhile."
MOuse
"I don't want to leave the house. Unless one of the babies decides to take me sleepwalking again. Waking up outside in a park when you feel asleep in a bed? Not fun." Mouse smiled slightly. "The Pack are finding it hard enough to let me out of my room, and most days I agree with them. And Diana hates me now too."
Faith
"Ah, welcome to the 'Diana - hates - me' club. It's fun, believe me. Sleepwalking? Never have had that happen to me, so I don't envy you really. I'd come over, but I think it's clear how Diana feels about me being around." Faith smiled.
MOuse
"Yeah, not an exactly comfortable place to be. I know she's sick, but this disease is seriously affecting her mind. She's all...very judgemental, and she didn't use to be." Mouse sighed.
Faith
"Maybe not on you." Faith moved some hair from her face. "But you're coping with the sickness and all? Coz I know it can be wicked gross. Well, I don't know from personal experience, but I've heard."
Mouse
"It's disgusting and horrible and I hate it," Mouse said flatly. "I am wishing so much vengeance on their labcoated behinds its not funny."
Faith
"Hey see if Anya's back into the business, she might punish them for you." Faith let out a little laugh. "Yeah, well, it'll be worth it in the end when you have babies, I guess. Well not worth it, but it'll dull the badness."
Mouse
"It sorta already is. Me and Tay can hear them...well, I can hear them and he can understand them when they shout." Mouse rubbed her tummy. "There's three of them."
Faith
"Oh that's pretty cool then. Which... three?" Faith blinked. "Whoa... good luck with that."
Mouse
"That's not what I'm gonna need good luck with. It's the what the hell did the labcoats decide to make is more the problem." Mouse felt the shiver of terror start up her spine again. "What the hell is with scientests?"
Faith
"Scientists suck. You should never experiment on... anything. I'm taking a stand and saying it's not good. Look, if you need help kicking the labcoats asses, I'm there," Faith offered.
MOuse
"I think Vulpe kind of decimated them...and destroyed their computers. I wonder where she is?" Mouse mused. "She was going to New Orleans, but I don't know if she actually got there."
Faith
"Ah, fair enough. But you're alright, aside from the pregnancy? Physically?" Faith asked, concern crawling into her tone.
Mouse
"Priss got rid of most of the scarring..." Mouse said quietly.
Faith
"Just emotionally, it can't be fixed easily, right?" Faith sighed. "Aw Mouse, I'm so sorry you went through that."
Mouse
"You didn't have anything to do with it, Faith. You weren't even in New York. And the cats weren't allowed to help. Apparently Bastet stripped Nyx of her magick to make sure she couldn't." Mouse shrugged slightly. "I'm alive, I have Tay, and Faf. All will be well, eventually. But it might take a while before I can sleep easy and not spook at corners."
Faith
"I know, I just feel bad for you, but you're a fighter, and I know you'll survive. Anyway," Faith paused. "I should let you go, you're probably sick of me. Give me a call when you're coming outside again, ok?"
Mouse
"Yeah. By the time the tour comes around, I'll be out. If for nothing else." Mouse sighed. "See you, Faith. Stay safe."
Faith
"You too, Mouse. See ya."
Faith hung up and let out a sigh.
