Astrid and Nathan
Astrid wheeled in over the school grounds, black feathered wings cupping the afternoon breezes that rose from the hot asphalt of the basketball courts. She heard some exclaimations of amazement as she came in gracefully for a landing by the side of the person she'd come to see. The insane mutant Seer.
Nathan had been relaxing, crutches on the ground beside him as he shuffled a pack of cards. He stared up at Astrid in horror. The black crawled over her like a swarm of bees, the darkness humming in pleasure. The black spilled out of her gut and slithered all over her. Lke a taint. She was tainted.
"Hello, little Seer," Astrid said pleasantly. Nathan wondered what his chances were of running. Not high. "Now, you said that what you are, is your seeing..."
"I see, it is what I am. And now all I can see in you is darkness, morrigu," Nathan spat. Astrid laughed, and Nathan shivered cowering back into the grass as the pleasant day was overcome by her new evil.
"You're a brave little thing. So fragile, yet so brave..." Her hand stroked the curve of his cheek, tracing his scars, Long fingernails scraped along his stubbled chin, the colour of old blood. "So very, very weak..."
Nathan hadn't stopped carrying weapons just because he was in a safe place. His bandaged hand whipped up carrying a stake and he tried to drive it into her gut. She caught his hand and tsktsked at him as her grip tightened, grinding the already aching bones together. He cried out in pain.
"That wasn't very nice..." She scolded him as the bones of his wrist cracked under the pressure she exerted. Nathan's face was white with agony, especially when she put her weight on his broken ankle. "What do you call a Seer who can't see?" She raised her free hand and waggled her fingers. The talonlike nails glinted and Nathan moaned with fear.
"Nooooo..."
"Yeeeeesssss," Astrid mocked him, then raised her hands to his face. She pressed inwards with her thumbs. Nathan screamed. He collapsed sobbing and she licked her fingers. His ruined eyesockets wept blood as she got to her feet. Nyux barreled into her and Astrod leapt backwards as Mordred 'ported Nathan out of there. "Bybye kitty!" Astrid reached out and *twisted*. Nyx dropped to the ground long enough for Astrid to escape.
Nathan sobbed harshly as he writhed with pain, sparks of light cascading through his mind. Now, he couldn;t seem to shut it off. Eventually, Hank sedated him and Nathan subsided into quiet so Hank could badage his eyes and other injuries.
