Friday
Friday bitterly got off the plane and started looking for her father who was supposed to be waiting for her. It was late and she was tired and extremely annoyed about all this.
Plus the only photos she had of her father were super old. Who knew what he looked like now.
Then she saw something that could only be meant for her. A sign saying "Friday", being held by a man, with a younger girl next to him. How corny. But the man looked enough like the guy in her few photos to be her father.
"Mr Black?" Friday asked, walking over.
He nodded.
"Friday?"
"That's what the sign says, ain't it? Why else would I come over?"
"You never know," he smiled. "This is your half sister Kat."
"Kat?" Friday repeated. "I suppose that's short for Katherine or something."
"Katarina, actually," Kat replied.
"Cute. It's almost as bad as my name."
Kat looked a little confused.
"Come on," said Mr Black. "Let's go get your luggage."
"There are only two bags. Mum's planning on sending everything else later," Friday said bitterly.
"Okay."
There was silence as they walked over to the baggage conveyer belt.
"I suppose this is all a bit of a shock for you," Mr Black started.'
"No kidding, sherlock."
"I expect your mother was very -"
"Look. I don't want to be here. But it looks like I'm not welcome at home any more either. I don't want your sympathy. I don't want anything from you. I don't even freaking know you. If this hadn't happened, I would never have known you. So don't trying to cheer me up because I'm not in the flipping mood."
From then on she said nothing unless she had to and all attempts at conversation were met with silence.
Upon arrival at her new home, she met Mrs Black and two other half siblings, Jack and Holly. Other than an annoyed 'hi' and a couple of dismissing 'yeah, whatever's, she was shown her room, which she was thankfully not sharing.
"Sorry about the mess," said Mrs Black. "We didn't have much time to -"
"It doesn't matter," and Friday shut the door.
She waited until it sounded like she was gone, then she flung herself on the bed and cried.
