28 June 2003 - Visiting Family

Dru

Dru looked back at her childer as she hung on Sabre's arm. "Remember, my babies, no eating the people here, no matter how delicious they seem. But you may toy with their minds all you like," she said, seeing the disappointed looks on the twins' faces.

"And remember to keep your rings on snug, or else bad things could happen."

Sabre

Sabre kissed Drusilla's forehead fondly and slapped Rosemary's ass with an open palm. "Be good, otherwise I'll let Nyx get you. She's very protective of her little students." Rosemary purred and rubbed her hip sensously along Sabre's. His eyes glowed.

"Oh, I want to play."

"Later, lovely. Let's go in then." The group entered the school. Spike nodded at them and kept walking. "Hey, Spike."

"'Lo all. Sorry, have to go." He disappeared into a room and closed the door behind him.

"Let's go have some fun," Sabre purred.

Dawn

Dawn and Spike had been waiting to greet their family, and Dawn practically flew into Sabre's arms.

"Sabby!" she squealed. "How are you?!"

Sabre

"I be good, lovely." Sabre grinned at her and kissed her forehead before spinning her around in a circle. The vampies cleared out hurriedly as the cat then dipped Dawn back into a graceful ballroom move. "How are you, me darling girl?" He drew her back up.

"Get your hands off my bit, you lecherous tom," Spike growled.

"Oh, do go and play with Vortigern, there's a good vampire," Sabre purred. "And isn't he the ray of sunshoine, Dru my lovely one?"

DRu and Dawn

"Oh, my beautiful boy," Dru purred. "Do stop acting like Daddy with his nasty filthy soul," she said, nipping on his ear. Dawn squealed as Sabre swung her around.

"Oh, silly Daddy mine, do leave him be, he is my big brother," Dawn reminded him, then she paused. "Is it just me, or do I have the weirdest family in the world?" Nobody even noticed when Stephen and Samantha slipped away to go exploring.

Sabre

"I'd say you have the oddest, my darling ray of sunshine," Sabre said laughing as he set her back on her feet. "And aren't you the lucky one to have it? And when did you start talking like me beautiful princess?" Without letting go of Dawn, his other hand snaked out to bring Dru's hand to his lips. Spike rolled his eyes. "Oh, I can smell him all over you, Spike. Don't roll your eyes at me."

"He's not any of your sodding business, and so help me god if you go near him-"

"Relax, vampire. I happen to like the lasses much more then the lads." Sabre grinned.

Dru

Dru sniffed. "William!" she said, shocked. "You reek of humanity," she pouted. Rosemary looked at Sabre.

"Papa, can I show Luka around? I don't think he's been here before," she asked him.

Sabre

"Sure, but no biting and please, don't shock the kiddies," Sabre told the two of them. "Your clothes stay on, and the hands do not go under the clothes!" They flashed him a grin and sauntered off. "Monsters." Spike was staring at Dru defiantly.

"I do not, as you so charmingly put it, reek of humanity."

"Wash lately, William?" Sabre asked.

"Oh, sod off!" Spike snarled.

Dru

"You do!" Dru insisted. "I smell people all over you! And not dying people, but happy, living people!" Dru shuddered. She couldn't imagine having a soul. Lily leaned against Sabre.

"Daddy, will you show me around?"

Sabre

"Course, lovely," Sabre said agreeably. "C'mon, Dru love, let's go have a bit of a look see, hey?"

"And living happy people is a problem?" Spike shrugged. "For you, I s'pose it is." The groups started walking.

Lilly

Lilly skipped as she held Sabre's hand. "Can I cause mischief, Daddy?" She asked, sneakilly.

Sabre

"No trouble," Sabre said sternly. "Behave!"

Lilly

Lilly pouted, but behaved. Sammy and Stevie, on the other hand, had snuch off and were exploring. The found the lrec room where several people were hanging out.

Nathan, Chelsea and the Mavericks

Nathan glared at the two vampires but refrained from comment. Chelsea looked around for whatever had gained such a response from Nathan and soon was also sending glares of hatred at the vampires. The two left by another door.

The Mavericks looked up briefly, then turned back to a discussion of how they were going to answer a class task. Vortigern wondered where Spike was.

Sammy and Stevie

Sammy and Stevie pretended not to be vampires at all and approached a group of older teenagers.

"Hello," Samantha said sweetly. "Who are you>"

The Mavericks

"Hey kids." Mordred looked up. "I'm Mordred, that's Vortigern," Vortigern raised a hand, "Demetria," Demetria nodded, "and Octavian." Octavian smiled. "Who do you two belong to?"

Vortigern rubbed Spike's bitemark on his neck, suddenly feeling uneasy but unable to pinpoint it.

Sammy and Stevie

Stevie went up to Vort and sniffed his neck. "You belong to Uncle," he decided.

"We belong to Mama Rosie and Granny Dru." Sammy told them. "We're visiting today. Look, I got a new ring!" the six-year-old said elightedly, showing off her Ring of Amarra.

The Mavericks

Vortigern backed away from the child vampire, that he fell off the chair, bringing all his books down with him in a crash.

"Graceful, Vort, truly graceful," Demetria said snidely, before turning to Sammy. "It's a beautiful ring, sweetie."

Mordred leant over and helped his twin up off the floor. "You know, you really got to get over that."

"Shut up. The weird vampire infant sniffed my neck. It was a bad thing." Vortigern styarted to gather his books.

Sammy and Stevie

Sammy touched Dem's hair. "You're pretty," she said smiling. "I used to think I'd be pretty when I grew up, but now I don't have to grow up or get old," she said, skipping from foot to foot. Stevie looked at Vort.

"But you smell good! And why don't you like me, if you like Uncle?" he asked.

Vortigern

"First of all, Spike has a soul," Vortigern said crossly. "Second, don't sniff my neck. It's...icky."

Sammy

"Souls are slippery little slimey things, they get away easily," Samantha said. "And I'll just smell you, you smell intoxicating!" She said to Dem. "Like power and strength and love," she grinned.

The Mavericks

"Thank you...I think..." Demetria said slowly. Octavian and Mordred snickered, and she glared at them.

Sammy and Stevie

Sammy pouted. "Granny made me promise not to hurt anybody, but if I was allowed, I'd turn you, then we could be friends forever!" she said, in what she thought was a compliment. Stevie meanwhile climbed onto Vort's lap.

"You smell good," he declared, curling up in Vort's lap contentedly.

The Mavericks

"You seem to have made some friends, Dem, Vort," Modred snickered. They both fixed furious glares on him.

"I'm flattered, sweetie," Demetria told Sammy. "But I think I like being alive."

"Ok. Really wanting Spike right about now," Vortigern mumured under his breath. "So. You're Stevie, right?"

Sammy and Stevie

"Yep, that's me! I'm the baby of the Master's Clan. Spike's my uncle. Rosie's my Mommy and Dru's my Granny," he said.

"He's my twin, but I woke up first," Sammy explained. "Granny made us promise not to eat you." she pouted.

The Mavericks

"And for small mercies, let us be truly thankful," Octavian sighed before standing up. "Anyway. I'm off. I'll see you people around." Octavian left. Demetria looked at Sammy, smile never wavering.

"So you woke up before your brother? I was born before Octavian as well. Do you think it's just because boys are slow?" Vortigern hissed through his teeth at her in censure but she ignored him.

Sammy

"Oh yes," Sammy replied. "Plus they're really dumb sometimes. I don't see how anybody could willingly kiss a boy," she made a face.

Demetria

"I don't know, it can be pretty nice," Demetria said, thinking about Orlando. "You know what's cool? My boyfriend's a merman. Well, halfmerman, half mutant. He can make it so I breathe under water. Now, that is pretty cool."

Sammy and Stevie

Sammy's eyes got wide. "Like in 'The Little Mermaid'?" she asked. "With Ariel and King Triton and Sebastian?" She asked excitedly.

"That's her favorite movie," Stevie explained.

Demetria

"I think it's something like that. But I don't know if they actually talk to the fish and so forth," Demetria said carefully. "They do have a city though. I haven't been there, but you know Nyx, Sabre's sister? She sunk Atlantis, and a lot of them live there now, in the ruins."

Sammy and Stevie

Sammy giggled. "I wanna go there!" she declared. Then she looked at Stevie. "I guess you can come too." She really did love her twin, even though he annoyed the heck out of her. She returend to playing with Demetria's hair.

Demetria

"Maybe you can sometime," Demetria said diplomatically. She wasn't sure how the merpeople would take having two child vampires running around their city... She leant around Sammy and started doing her homework.

Sammy

"Whatcha doin'?" Sammy asked.

Jean

Jean gasped. "Hank! Look at this, this Dr. Danjermond, he's the same man that was experimenting on Vulpe and Jane!" she said, beginning to feel sick to her stomach. "Have you found anything about Legacy yet?"

Demetria and Octavian

"Oh, an essay on the English occupation of India. On the East India Trading Company trading practices to be precise. It's also a bit personal for me, because one of my ancetors was a company director. A large portion of my family's wealth was really started here," Demetria replied absently. "Octavian inherited the family nose for business though. He trades shares and stocks and bonds and so forth. Apparently, he's quite good. He isn't broke yet anyway."

"I'm quite far ahead, thank you," Octavian said. "Several millions ahead, in fact."

"Good for you."

"Indeed."

Sammy

"Grandaddy Sabre has a lot of money, you know. He's been investing for thousands of years, did you know that?" Sammy asked, trying to read Demetria's essay. "I can't read very well yet, only a little," she pouted.

Demetria and Octavian

"Well, when you have eternity, it really does make a difference," Demetria said as her pen skittered over the paper. Octavian looked up for a moment.

"Imagine what you could do with compound interest...although, making sure you did recieve the money with a minimum amount of fuss could become a problem. Unless, perhaps, you used banks that were used to different clientele."

Stevie and Sammy

Sammy appeared to ponder this for a while, and then she spoke up. "You know what, Auntie Dem? I have no clue what you just said."

Stevie, in the meantime, had wandered off of Vortigerns lap, adn was walking around the library, just looking at everyone.

The Mavericks

Vortigern sighed in relief as the child vampire left. Honestly, they really gave him the shivers. They looked like they should be so innocent...but they weren't. He sketched in his artbook, still wanting to work on some of the details he'd put into his term piece. He had handed it in and all...but he wasn't completley happy with it.

Demetria laughed. "That's ok, sweetling. You don't have to."

Mordred put his book away and then flipped open his car magazine.
