Mouse

Mouse woke up with a strangled yelp and looked around wildly, panting. It was dark. Dark was bad. Fafnir nosed her side sleepily.

I can't do this. I can't cope with this.

Yes you can. Bets said firmly. You can, you know. The malamute got up from her place on the floor and walked over to the door. She leaned back on her hindlegs and then flipped the lightswitch with her nose. The room flooded with light.

Am I? I don't feel real. I feel like nothing./ Mouse drew her knees up to her chest and the two powerful canines huddled in close to her as tears started to fall. I'm so sick of this. "So sick of it," her voice whispered into the room.

We love you. Fafnir said in worried tones.

I know, I just... Soon she fell back alseep again, nestled in a warm heap of fur and muscle. Fafnir and Bets shared a glance, then settled to standing gaurd.
