23 June 2003 - Faith and Xander chat online

Faith and Xander

Faith checked her watch. 2am. There was too much weighing on her mind, and she was driving herself crazy with thoughts. Diana was never going to accept her, and that bothered her more than she'd like to admit. It was just... she'd never been in love with someone before and now that she was, it was kinda not good that his mother didn't particularly approve of her. Faith sighed and sat up in bed. She grabbed a sweater off the ground, looking at it for a second. It was Zac's. Smiling a little, she put it on and padded softly out of the room, closing the door behind her. She went into the living room where her lap top was sitting. She turned it on and connected to the Net. Xander was online.

RedeemedSoul: Hey, you're up late
DemonMagnet: Can't sleep... guessing you're the same?
RedeemedSoul: Yep, but what's your deal?
RedeemedSoul: Why aren't you sleeping?
DemonMagnet: Eh, I don't know... had a few coffees, that could be why
RedeemedSoul: Pheebs back home?
DemonMagnet: Yeah, she left earlier... or yesterday
RedeemedSoul: Depending on how I wanna see it?
DemonMagnet: Mmmhmm, what about you?
RedeemedSoul: What about me?
DemonMagnet: Why aren't you sleeping? Anything the Watcher needs to know?
RedeemedSoul: Not really... just not tired
DemonMagnet: Do you need... I don't know, to see a doctor?
RedeemedSoul: And ask what? Why I can't sleep sometimes?
DemonMagnet: Good point
RedeemedSoul: Not just a pretty face
DemonMagnet: How's Zac?
RedeemedSoul: He's alright...
DemonMagnet: Leaving or staying?
RedeemedSoul: Me?
DemonMagnet: No, him
RedeemedSoul: Oh... the home thing. I don't know... I guess if he works things out with his mom then he'll go back
DemonMagnet: And then...
RedeemedSoul: Then it'll be business as usual?
DemonMagnet: Do you want him to go?
RedeemedSoul: Nah, I like having him here... it's weird though, living with someone. Not used to it
DemonMagnet: You lived with the Halliwells though
RedeemedSoul: That was different, that was a coming and going thing. Plus, I wasn't sleeping with any of them
DemonMagnet: That's a good point, also
RedeemedSoul: Yup, again, not just a pretty face
DemonMagnet: You up for some training tomorrow? I mean today
RedeemedSoul: Yeah sure... if I'm awake
DemonMagnet: You will be, you Slayer types can survive on a minimal amount of sleep
RedeemedSoul: Jealous much?
DemonMagnet: Yeah, dying of jealousy...
RedeemedSoul: Mmmhmmm, it's something to be jealous of. Spending all my time, fighting for my life... you know, it's wonderful
DemonMagnet: You love it though
RedeemedSoul: Well... yeah, duh
DemonMagnet: Burden though, now that Buffy's gone, you dealing?
RedeemedSoul: It's funny how alone I do feel
DemonMagnet: Alone?
RedeemedSoul: Yeah, I get what B used to say though, when she said she was lonely. Never used to get it, but I do, now
DemonMagnet: What do you mean?
RedeemedSoul: Well, I always thought I was the lonely one... the one without family, no friends, nothing... but then, now that I have those things, being the Slayer, it keeps me different, alone, apart...
DemonMagnet: Not completely
RedeemedSoul: That's true, I don't know. I've been having dismal type thoughts lately about the Slayer gig
DemonMagnet: Buffy did all the time
RedeemedSoul: ...
DemonMagnet: She wanted to give up a whole bunch of times, but she didn't... and you won't either, I know you have it in you to keep fighting the good fight
RedeemedSoul: I guess
DemonMagnet: Burden?
RedeemedSoul: Yup. But thank God I'm a hot chick with super powers
DemonMagnet: Perks
RedeemedSoul: Indeed
DemonMagnet: Anyhow, I'm sorta tired, I guess the coffee is wearing off
RedeemedSoul: Yeah, I'll go too... snuggle with my baby
DemonMagnet: Have fun
RedeemedSoul: You too
DemonMagnet: Night Faith
RedeemedSoul: Night Xand

Faith logged off and looked towards her room. She sighed. She wasn't going to sleep tonight, but there was no point in keeping Zac awake. She stood and stretched for a few minutes then went and retrieved a blanket. She brought it back to the living room and switched the tv on, turning the volume down all the way. Laying on the couch, she adjusted her weight so that she was comfortable.

Before long, she had fallen asleep, the light from the TV dancing across her face. And that's how she stayed until morning.
