Jean-Luc
Jean-Luc clenched his fist in triumph. He'd found her. He looked up at the thief who had brought him the news. "Merci, Michel."
"It was nuthin', m'sieur Lebeau." The thief bowed slightly.
"You'll be properly rewarded for this."
"Merci." The thief slipped out the door, smiling slightly. Jean-Luc was known to be generous when you pleased him.
Jean-Luc dialled Remy's number and left a message that he had some vital infomation. And then he sat back and waited.
Gambit
"Red, I know dat yo' miss dem, but dat's... oh look at dis," Gambit said. "I have mail."
He listened to the message from Jean-Luc, and then rang him back.
Jean-Luc
"Allo?" Jean-Luc answered the phone, making notes on the Quantico labs, frowning slightly. "Dat you, mon fils?"
Gambit
"It be Remy," Gambit confirmed. "Yo' had some news fo' me?"
Jean-Luc
"We found her. Connards!" Jean-Luc hissed as he read some of the labratory reports Michel had been able to get. "Remy, dey hurt dis petite fille real' bad. Dey haven't touched Vulpe yet, but the alien...she be in bad shape. I'll send the maps and patrol schedules over, ouiai?" Jean-Luc started to scan the documents in preperation.
Gambit
"Great!" Gambit replied enthusiatically. "I've only been uncoverin' loose ends ov'r 'ere."
Jean-Luc
"Ok, dey comin' now, cher." Jean-Luc clicked the button to send the scanned documents to Gambit. "What really makes me sick to my stomach is dat more den likely some of my money went to pay for this...abomination. Testing to see how aliens react to extremes of temp'ture? I call dat torture, not research. Culs!" Jean-Luc was truly outraged. "To do dat to une bebe..." He shook his head in disgust.
Gambit
"We can' always pre'ict wha's going ta happen," Gambit replied. "But we can try ta make amen's. As soon as I git it, I'll be on my way."
Jean-Luc
"Vulpe knows some of the N'Awlins regogntion codes...her father will have made sure of that." Jean-Luc smiled as he thought about his old friend. "But I'm sure she'll recognise you...you're very distinctive, mon fils."
Gambit
"Fo' once dat shoul' work in my favour," Gambit observed. "Okay, I've go' da pages. Whoa... dis is hot stuff. Dere holding dem 'ere? Poor kids. Well, if yo' have nothing more ta add I shoul' be on my way..."
Jean-Luc
"C'est tout. Bon chance, Remy. May de bon Dieu watch over yo." Jean- Luc sighed. "Au revoir, mon fils."
Gambit
"Au revior," Gambit replied.
He hung up and began studing the files.
Jean-Luc and Stefano
Jean-Luc put down the phone and called Stefano. "Stefano, mon ami? They've found her."
"Ringraziare Dio," Stefano sighed. "Is she...is she alright?"
"Ouiai, for now. I sent Remy to get her."
"Thank you, my old friend."
"It was a pleasure, mon ami. P'raps we work together to close this side of the midnight market down?"
"Si!" Stefano agreed emphaptically. The two Patriachs made plans, then said their goodbyes and hung up.
