Gambit
Gambit watched the markets. He always did. Best way to find out what was selling.
"Well, well, an alien," he whistled. "I'd make a comment about human rights, but it seems dat's da point. Not human. What's next? Mutants?"
He sat back and considered.
"Dey're forking over a lot of dough."
He sat up, stretched and wondered if there would be a reward for her return. Hmm...
He decided to look into it. But this would require him to leave New York, so he ought to say goodbye to a certain girl before he left.
"Don' worry Red," Gambit said. "We'll come back again."
Gambit and Rogue
Rogue was waiting for Gambit when he showed up that night.
"Remy! Ah have great news!" She exclaimed happily.
"And what be dat, Cheri?"
Rogue held out the box.
"Liberty had babies."
Gambit peered into the box. Red bounded in and started meeting his kids.
"Well, well... who be da pa?" Gambit asked.
"Who do you think?" Rogue replied.
"Hmm..." he shook his head. "Hope it doesn' inconvience yo, Cheri."
"No, not at all. They're so cute!"
"Dat they are, Cheri," Gambit laughed. "Names yet?"
"No. Ah don't know what to name them. Ah don't even know what ones are boys or girls."
"Oh? Well, lemme see... I'm perdy good at dis. The darker red ones be boys... and so be the magenta one. The rest be girls."
"Three boys, and three girls," Rogue smiled.
Gambit nodded.
"And I've got some news on my own, Cheri. Not so good, I'm sorry. Someone has come ta my attention that I have ta deal with. I have to go."
"Go? Go where?"
"Out o' New York. Sorry Cheri, but I'll come back."
Rogue nodded sadly.
"Okay," she said quietly.
"I'd best be off. Come Red."
Red reluctantly left Liberty and the babies.
"Lemme know what yo name them."
And on that, Gambit left.
