Rogue
Rogue woke up eariler than usual that Monday. She twisted around in her bed and looked into Liberty's box - the fuzzle had been awfully -
"Liberty!" Rogue gasped.
For Liberty wasn't alone in her box. With her were six little fuzzles. Three were slightly different shades of red, one was magenta, one was a hot pink and the sixth was white.
"You... you we're getting fat and lazy after all... you were pregnant!" Rogue breathed. "Who... oh of course! Red! Oh wait until Gambit hears about this!"
Rogue smiled down at the fuzzles, wondering if it were okay to touch any of them. She knew some animals got very protective about their young.
"Kitty! Kitty, wake up!" Rogue called, not able to tear her eyes from the fuzzles.
Kitty
Kitty sat up, still bleary eyed from sleep. "Huh? What's going on?"
Rogue
"Kitty! Look! Liberty's had babies!" Rogue replied.
Rogue smiled at Liberty.
Kitty
Kitty jumped out of bed, and shook Theresa and Jubilee.
"Hey girls, come look! Liberty's had babies!' Kitty sat down next Rogue.
"Oh, they're so cute!"
Rogue
Rogue nodded.
"Yes, they are. Just so cute!" she shook her head. "I can't believe it. I had no idea."
Jubilee
Jubliee yawned and wriggled out of bed.
"Babies?" she repeated sleepily.
Theresa
Theresa giggled. "They are so adorable!" she said. "Can I touch hem?" she asked.
Rogue
"I don't know," Rogue admitted. "I don't know if fuzzles get protective about their young or not."
Rogue reached her hand tentatively out to Liberty.
"Is it okay if we hold your babies?" she asked.
Theresa
Theresa yawned and stretched. "Let's go down to breakfast."
"Yeah," Jubilee said. "Rogue, why don't you put the fuzzles in a shoe box and we can go downstairs and you can show them off," the Chinese girl grinned.
Rogue
"Okay," Rogue agreed.
She got dressed, picked up the fuzzles, still in their box, and carried them downstairs with her friends to the cafeteria.
Rogeu and Buzza
"Whatcha got dere Roguey?" Buzza asked.
"Liberty and her baby fuzzles," Rogue replied.
"Oooh! Babiezzz! Me and Moonie are gonna have lotzzza thozzze," Buzza said, flying to the top of the box.
He peered inside.
"Zzzix wittle fuzzlies!"
OCtavian and Demetria
Octavian and Demetria were sitting together in the cafeteria, Octavian readingt The London Times and Demetria chattering to him as they ate their breakfasts. "Morning, ladies!" Demetria waved. Octavian looked up, hair still a little sleepmussed.
"Good morning." He turned his eyes back to his newspaper, making notes on the stockmarket prices.
Jesse, Becky, Martha and Theresa
Theresa yawned, still not entirely awake, and talked to herself in Gaelic. THe Will O' the Wisps came down and flitted around her face, greeting her. Becky and MArtha had been up with the dawn, making all sorts of goodies for breakfast. They carried in trays of sausages and bacon and eggs.
"Eat up, everybody," Martha said, smiling. Jesse Tuck also awoke with the dawn, and it gave him warm feeling to watch the Amish interract. They reminded him so much of his own family, almost 200 years ago.
The Mavericks
Vortigern and Spike came in, arms wrapped around each other's waists. "Morning all," Vortigern said cheerfully. Spike rolled his eyes at his lover's enthuasism this early in the morning.
"Mornin'."
"Morning, Vort, Spike," Demetria giggled. Octavian waved at them absentmindedly. He really needed to move some of his stocks...damn broker. You could never find good help these days.
Dawn
Dawn walked downstairs, still bleary-eyed, but cheerful, and snagged a sausage link with her fingers.
"Mmmm, sausage. Morning Spike," she said, kissing him on the cheek. SHe had fallen into calling him ';Daddy' when they were alojne, but she didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable.
"Oh, Rogue, what do you have there?" she asked, looking at the little blobs of fuzz.
Rogue
"Look!" Rogue said delightedly. "Liberty had six baby fuzzles last night!"
"And they're so cute," Jubilee added, grinning.
Dawn
"Oh! how sweet!" Dawn exclaimed. She reached out a finger to stroke the beautiful white fuzzle. "Can I touch her?" she asked.
Rogue
"Ah think so," Rogue replied uncertainly. "Liberty hasn't objected to us patting them so far."
Then she giggled.
"Ah can't wait to tell Remy and Red."
Nyx and The Mavericks
Nyx stalked in, eyes hard as they always were these days since Mouse went missing. Spike nodded to her. "Cat."
"Vampire." She went to the coffee and poured herself a cup. She wasn't sleeping lately and she needed it if she was to stay awake at all.
"They're very sweet looking," Vortigern said, peering into the box. He stroked one of them with a finger and the baby squeaked happily. Demetria walked over and cooed at the babies.
"They're absolutely beautiful, darrrrrrling. And aren't you the proud mama, hmmm?" She asked Liberty.
Nyx watched them with almost dead eyes, sipping quietly from her coffee. "Danger Room sessions, people. Don't forget, Vortigern, Octavian. 10 o'clock."
"Yes, Nyx." Octavian didn't look up.
Dawn
"Oh! Octavian," Dawn spoke up suddenly. "I'd almost forgot. Giles sent me a new sword, it's really cool, and I'd heard that you're a really good swordsman," she said. "Would you spar with me later?"
Rogue
"Ah wonder which ones are boys and which ones are girls," Rogue said. "Ah'd like to give them names, but there's no point in giving a boy a girls' name and vice versa. Apparently the girls are bigger, but Ah can't tell."
The Mavericks
"Sure, Dawn. But Jack's better then I am. And Nyx and Sabre have us both beat." Octavian made a note on his paper.
"So modest," Demetria said. "Maybe turning you into a girl was a good idea after all. Octavian looked up, eyes turning into ice.
"Demetria, may I suggest that you close your mouth before I close it for you? The two of you had no right to do that to me. I never took away your choices, and you locked me away into that with no chance at turning back." Angry now that he had shown his true feelings on the whole female experience, he closed his paper with a snap and strode out of the room. Demetria watched him go, mouth opne slightly in shock.
"Coulda told ya, Dem. You're his twin, and you didn't know how he felt on the whole having control issue?" Vortigern shook his head slightly. "That was a nasty thing to do. Wasn't fun, was...cruel."
Dawn
Dawn pondered this for a moment. "Willow taught me how to do a revealing speel, to show what's hidden, it won't hurt them, would you like me to try?" she offered.
Rogue
Rogue was about to reply when someone banged into her. The fuzzles flew up in the air and fell on the ground.
"No!" she gasped.
