Hunter and Tanya
"Hunter!"
"Uh oh," Hunter thought.
"What is the meaning of this?" his stepfather bellowed.
The colour drained from Hunter's face. His YIRAAS things - which he thought he had kept so well hidden, were now in his stepfather's hands.
"I... I..." Hunter stammered.
There was no mistaking the fury in his eyes. Hunter knew he couldn't stay here any longer. He ran.
"Traitor!" his step father yelled, as her pursued Hunter outside.
Hunter leapt into the nearest car and started drving. He didn't have his licence yet, but he did have technokineis, so he didn't even need a key to start it. He drove out onto the street and zoomed down the road.
His step father got into his own car and followed. Hunter saw him in his rear view mirror and swore. He made for the main street.
"Oh no, a red light..." Hunter winced.
Then he paused.
"Hang on, whay am I complaining?"
He changed the light to green (and vice versa) hurried across the intersection and changed them back after her had gotten across. There were about five sets of light on the main street and Hunter made certain they changed to red when he passed.
On thing was for certain. He couldn't go home now. So he had to go somewhere else.
Something else was evident. His step father knew what car he was in. He would have to dump it somewhere and find another way to... whereever he was going to go.
Fortunately, his wallet was in his pocket. He didn't have much money though. Where did Tate say they were going? Texas? Hmm....
Hunter made a quick stop to his bank and withdrew all his money. He had to do it, and now, else he would be traced later. Then he got back into the car and headed for the train station. On his way to the car, he grabbed a mobile phone.
When he arrived at the station, he used his power to manipulate the computers and get a cheaper ticket to Texas, then he got on the train and waited.
A face suddenly appeared in the carriage. It was him. Hunter twisted in his seat, determined not to give his step father a good look at him. His heart was pounding and his mind racing. How could he get out of this one?
Fortunately, he didn't notice him and got off the train. Hunter sighed in relief. The last call was made for people to get on, and he felt he could relaxed.
Then his stepfather looked in at him through the window. Hunter nearly had a heart attack. Naturally, he tried to get back int he train, but this time Hunter used his power to close the doors just before he could even get a finger in. The train started moving, and Hunter sighed in relief as his step father's angry form glowered after him.
Hunter had Tanya's number. He pulled out the mobile phone (it was off, so he used his technokinesis, no problem) and called her. He told her what train he was on, and Tanya agreed to find out when it was due and to meet him there.
Now Hunter's only worry that his step father, or one of his friends might catch up with him at the next station. To avoid this, for the next couple of stations he hid in the bathroom. After that, he figured that a, they wouldn't catch up with him, and b, evenif they did, they would think he got off by then.
It was late by the time he arrived at his destination. As promised, Tanya was there to pick him up.
"Thanks a lot," he said.
"No problem," Tanya replied. "I'm here to help."
Hunter sat back and smiled. Everything should be okay now.
