Isaac
Isaac picked up the phone and dialed Taylor's mobile phone number. He had to tell him about Spook.
"C'mon, c'mon, pick up..." he muttered.
Taylor, Christian and Kirk
Taylor felt his phone vibrating in his pocket.
He gave a quick signal for the bikes to pull over, then did so. Kirk and Christian pulled up close behind.
Taylor took the phone out of his jacket as he shut the bike off.
"Home?"
He answered the call, putting the phone to his ear.
"Hello?" he began, curiously.
Isaac
"Tay? It's me Ike. I've just had an interesting phone call from some woman calling herself 'Spook'. She said she's the one who kidnapped Mouse, and she's planning on selling her. Reckons she has a buyer for two and a half million. I don't know if I bought you time or anything but telling her I think she was being ripped off," Isaac told him quickly.
Taylor, Kirk and Christian
Taylor dropped the phone.
"Hey!" Kirk exclaimed, jumping off his bike to go and grab it.
Christian darted from his toward Taylor.
"Hello?" Kirk's eyes narrowed as he spoke into the phone.
"Tay? Taylor? What is it?" Christian put a hand on his shoulder.
Taylor was just staring ahead in shock.
"Oh my God... no," he began to shake his head.
"What?" Christian tried again.
Isaac
Isaac heard a thump.
"Hello? Hello? Taylor?"
And unfamilar voice picked up.
"Hello! This is Isaac... where's Tay?"
Kirk, Christian, Taylor and Chloe
"Hey Isaac," Kirk smiled a little, "Steel here. We met up with your bro just before he left, so we're kinda on a little road trip at the moment after his girl. Well, you prolly knew about the girl part..."
He leant against 'his' bike, watching Christian and Taylor together. Chloe stared at him intently, wondering what was going on.
"Tay is kinda flipped out at the moment from whatever you said, so... mind repeatin' it?"
Isaac
"I don't blame him," Isaac replied.
He took a breath and continued.
"I just got a phone call from a woman, named Spook, who claimed to have kidnapped Mouse. She told me she had a buyer for her, for 2.5 million bucks. I don't know if it worked, but I told her she had been ripped off, so she might waste time trying to up that price. Whoever she is, she's really dangerous. SHe even bragged about how many aliens she killed, and..." Isaac hesitated. "Look, you probably shouldn't mention this to Tay, but she played me a tape of Mouse. I... Mouse isn't handling isolation very well, being an empath. And this Spook person isn't helping the matters. From what I heard, it may as well be torture. The sooner you find her, the better."
Kirk, Christian, Taylor and Chloe
Kirk nodded.
"Spook, huh? What the hell is with all these crap names late..."
He cut himself off when Chloe hit him.
"Yeow! Anyway. Uh... thanks for lettin' me know. Now we gotta get the bugger back on his bike and riding again. I think you scared him a bit much."
He couldn't help but chuckle.
"Christian's kinda helpin him right now."
Isaac
"Christian?" Isaac repeated in surprise. "Huh. Oh, by the way, she mentioned that her buyer was the US govt. She also tried to ransom her off to us, but I don't know about you, but I'm certainly not going to trust her to keep up her end of the bargain."
Kirk
"Nah, I wouldn't trust these damn hunters as far as I could kick 'em with me little toe."
He scratched his nose.
"Uh... would you mind helpin' us with some-o-this crap here? Like, find out as much as you can about the government thingy in case we don't get there in time?"
Isaac
"Umm, well, I'm not sure where I would start, but I'll certainly give it a try," Isaac replied. "Would you like me to call Tanya and let her know what's going on?"
Kirk
"Nah, don't worry yourself. I'm sure Tay has the number, we'll call her."
He noticed that Christian seemed to be getting somewhere with consoling the kid.
"We'd better go. Got alot of travelling to do. Catch you later, Isaac."
Isaac
"Okay," Isaac replied. "Take care of yourselves. Bye."
He hung up.
