Diana
Diana had been greatly concerned, and otherwise worried sick. Thus she made an appointment with the (alien) doctor. She had just had some tests done and was now awaiting the results.
"Mrs Hanson?" said the doctor. "I'm afraid I have some bad news."
Diana looked up in alarm.
"It's Verizik disease."
"I'm not familar with that..." Diana trailed off.
"Basically, it only effects your powers. They start diminishing well beyond what is normal even for someone in old age, and they also have a tendancy to flicker between working and not working at all. I'm sorry to say that it looks like you've had this for a number of year, and in this stage, there is nothing we can do about it. I'm really sorry. If we has caught it eariler, no problem, but well..."
"I... I understand," Diana replied, trying not to cry.
