9 June 2003 - The Search Begins

Taylor, Christian, Kirk and Chloe

Taylor had packed a bag the night before... he didn't know how long he'd be gone.

No one knew he was planning to leave. Apart from Ike, Fafnir, and the fuzzles of course... most of which were going with him.

He grabbed a backpack he'd packed, the fuzzle-carrier, his wallet, cell, and sunglasses. Then he grabbed the keys for his bike and headed outside, Fafnir right behind.

He stopped short at the sight of visitors in his driveway.

"Hey Taylor," Kirk looked up tiredly as Christian turned around.

"What the...?!" Taylor quickly turned and shut the door before anyone else saw Christian there.

Then he ran down to the driveway, where Kirk had hold of two identical bikes.

"Heard about your dilemma," Kirk grinned, as Taylor noticed him shaking a little.

"From who? What are you doing with my bike? What... What are you doing here?!"

Taylor grabbed his bike away from Kirk as Christian snorted.

"Believe it or not, we're here to help," Kirk dusted his hands off, "where your keys?"

Taylor frowned for a moment, realizing the bike Kirk had had hold of was a duplicate of his own.

Grudgingly, Taylor held out his keys for Kirk to clone. He tapped them, caught the duplicate, then started the bike. He grinned as he revved it.

"What the hell are you two doing?" Taylor frowned.

"We're following you. We know Mouse is in trouble, and if it's the hunter that was after her before we're not letting you go on your own," Kirk explained.

"Oh really? What if I don't want your help?"

Kirk cocked his head at him.

"Please don't tell me Christian's bad attitude actually came from you."

"Hey man! If I had that much of an attitude I wouldn't be here," Christian spoke up.

Taylor watched as Kirk crouched down beside the bike and began to make another duplicate. He shook his head.

"You guys are crazy."

"Yep," came a female voice, as a gothic girl sidled up to them, "and that's why we're going with you."

Taylor squinted through his sunglasses.

"And who are you?"

"Chloe."

"Right..."

"She's a friend," Kirk explained, a little out of breath.

Taylor just shook his head and started his bike as Christian eyed Fafnir warily. He knew either Taylor ro Mouse had forbidden him to attack, otherwise he would have done so already.

Fafnir

Fafnir eyed Christian with the greatest possible disdain, and growled, flashing his fangs menacingly. Watch your step, or I'll bite off your foot. I *don't* like you in the slightest as it is. And I'm not overly impressed about you either. Fafnir swung his deadly glare on Steel. The girl I don't know about yet. He cocked his head to the side and considered Chloe. Let's go. He padded to Taylor's side.

Taylor, Christian and Kirk

Taylor helped Fafnir onto the bike again. He knew the wolf hated it, but he didn't know how far he was going to travel.

Once Christian's bike was completed, Kirk threw him another set of keys. Christian got on, Chloe got on with Kirk, and once Taylor left they began to follow him down the street.
