Isaac
Isaac grabbed his travel bag and got into the line of people trying to get out of the plane. He was home.
On the one hand he was somewhat sad over his breakup with Miette. On the other, relieved, knowing that it was better this way.
At last he got out of the plane, and picked up the rest of his luggage, all the while looking out for whoever was there to pick him up.
Ash G
Ashley didn't bother rushing, even though he knew he was late.
Half an hour later, he walked through the airport doors, looking for his 'best man'. Soon spotting him, he headed over.
"Hey man, ready to go?" he raised his eyebrows.
Isaac
"Hey Ash," Isaac greeted.
He readjusted the position of his bag on his shoulder.
"Yep, let's go."
Ash G
"Cool."
Ashley grabbed a suitcase and led Isaac back out to the car. After putting his luggage in the trunk, they both got in the car, and began on their way.
"I heard about Zac, man. Sorry. First Tay, now him..."
Isaac
Isaac nodded.
"At this rate..." he sighed. "Oh I don't know... What is with this weird attraction trouble seems to have with our family, I'd like to know."
Ash G
"Whatever it is, I hope you keep it to yourselves," Ashley raised his eyebrows as he turned a corner.
"Assuming Zac's back, and everything's fine and dandy, your Dad's booked you in at The Church for a recording session on the 6th July. For the acoustic record. I've started booking dates for August around the States... just the Northern part."
Isaac
"Cool," Isaac said. "This is gonna be fun."
There was silence for a moment and Isaac sighed.
Ash G
Ash glanced at him curiously.
"What? Missing Miette already?"
He tried to keep his eye on the road.
Isaac
"In a manner of speaking," Isaac paused. "We broke up."
He rushed on before Ash could say anything:
"The whole long distance thing... I could see when I was there that, well, Mi wasn't handling it very well. And I know she was looking at other guys..." Isaac sighed. "Not that I haven't had wandering eyes myself. It just... it wasn't working."
Isaac stared out the window.
Ash G
Ash opened his mouth, then closed it trying to think of something to say.
"Oh."
He returned his eyes to the road.
"Sorry man. I uh... I hope this doesn't mingle too bad with the wedding plans. You know..."
Isaac
"No, no, it'll be fine," Isaac assured him. "We decided when we first started dating that if it looked like things weren't working we'd try to remain friends. I... I guess I was worried that if this relationship continued she'd end up hating me, because we couldn't be together and... well... I didn't want either of us to feel like we were cheating, y'know what I mean?"
He figdetted with his fingers for a moment.
"We're still friends. That's the important thing. I wish we had been able to... I wish we could have continued."
Ash G
"Well, when you guys started out you always said you wouldn't have a long distance relationship... hard on you, hard on the girl," Ashley remembered.
He began to pull off the highway.
"But yeah, you two did have something. It'd be hard for anyone to keep that going when you don't get to see each other that often."
Isaac
"Yeah..." Isaac agreed.
He sighed.
"Anyway, moving right along. Other than Zac, anything new I should know about?"
Ash G
"Well, you probably know that Jess went to New York... She took off the same day Mouse did. The acousitc tour's being scheduled for August, which I think I already said..."
He hesitated.
"We're going to get some Hanson 'netters in on that recording session on the 6th... make it a live thing. I've been working with your dad in organizing this whole thing. Apart form that, there's nothing much else," then he chuckled, "Tay's feeling lonely without you lot around, so I heard."
Isaac
Isaac nodded.
"Cool," he said.
Then he shook his head and sighed.
"Everything has been such a mess lately."
Ash G and Taylor
"Yeah, you can say that again."
Then Ash glanced at him.
"Not literally by the way."
They finally pulled up in the Hanson's driveway. Taylor heard the car and came running out.
"IKE!" he exclaimed, opening his door and hugging him before he could get out of the car.
"Oooooook," Ashley rolled his eyes, getting out.
Isaac
Isaac laughed and hugged Taylor back, before getting out of the car himself.
"So, I'm guessing you missed me?" Isaac laughed.
Taylor and Ash G
"Hell yes!" Taylor exclaimed, hugging him again, when he got out.
"That just looks wrong," Ashley shook his head.
"Shut up. Man, I need to show you a song I've been working on. I've been going nuts with no one around."
Isaac
"I see," Isaac said. "You only love me for my creativeness?"
He grinned at Ashley.
"And you have a dirty mind."
