Vortigern and Mordred
Vortigern let go of Mordred as his brother finished teleporting them to the Hotel Hyperion. Vortigern had spent the morning and most of the afternoon with Spike, gone around and done some touristy stuff, looked in galleries and stuff. Now he just wanted to draw. "Thanks, wolf."
"Anytime. Call me when you want a lift."
"I'm not walking around in LA without you or Spike by my side," Vortigern said vehemntly. "I got shot in New York. *Not* Looking forward to repeating that experience anytime soon." His hand cam up unconsioucely and rubbed at his chest. "Go. Be with Gwen. Have fun."
"Too bloody right, mate. Bye, Scathach." Mordred teleported out. Vortigern looked aound at the Hotel and hummed happily. He could definetly do some good work with this. Angel walked out, a crossbow in his hands. Vortigern held up his sketchbook and his pencils and charcoals.
"You said I could come back and draw."
"I did." Angel turned and disappeared back into the hotel again. Vortigern shook his head slightly, and then decided to draw the ceiling first...it had interesting patterns and dimensions. He laid down on the floor, sketchbook propped up by his knee and started to draw.
Faith
Faith waved at the blue lights as Paige orbed away. She was once again standing in the lobby of Hyperion. She noticed a guy sketching on the ground and was immediately on her guard.
"Angel?"
Angel came out of his office. "Faith. That's Vortigern. He's alright. Don't worry."
Faith lifted an eyebrow but nodded, and made her way over to Angel for a hug.
"Sit down. I'll go get you something to drink. I'll be back."
Faith obediently sat on the couch in the lobby. She watched the sketching guy.
"I'm Faith, by the way."
Vortigern
Vortigern gave her a glance, and smiled slowly. "Name of Faith, friends with the brooding one, dark hair...the Slayer, right? Vortigern Llewlyn. Mutant." He started to colour in some of the shading on the arching ceiling. "Angel's letting me in to draw. This place has the best dimensions. Nit that he wouldn't be good to draw as well."
Faith
"Slayer, that's me."
Faith peered around at the hotel.
"Never been a big one for art. So, I'll take your word for it. What brings you to town then?"
Vortigern
"My twin and his girl. Gwen wanted to come down to the City of Angels for a break from the school. It's been...hectic." Vortigern sighed slightly. "Insane mutant, who's now thankfully dead, stirring up trouble. Threw a knife into my chest. I'm lucky Nyx is so good at the magic, or I'd be dead twice over. Gunshot before. Oh, and there's been the end of the world thing...as Dawn says, must be Tuesday."
Faith
"Must be. Apocalypses are gettin to be scarily common. But more than likely, we'll stop it. Maybe. Partly why I'm here. To find out what's going on."
Faith leaned back against the seat. "Gwen? The electric chick I've heard much about?"
Vortigern
"Yeah." Vortigern smiled slightly. "Loooove is in the air with her and Mordred. You know what has suddenly occured to me, and is almost scarily funny?" He turned on his side to look at her.
Faith
Faith looked confused.
"What?"
Vortigern
"You know Spike, right?" At her nod, he continued. "I'm going out with him, and that would make Angel family, or something." Vortigern chuckled slightly. "At least Dru is fun. Crazy, but fun in her own dark and twisted way."
Faith
Faith smiled.
"Yeah? Well, I guess we're all a little crazy in our own ways."
Vortigern
"Oh, we are, we are. Take pyscho crossbow boy. Very antisocial." Vortigern rolled back over onto his back. "Oh, hey Connor. We were just talking about you." Vortigern grinned almost nastily at Connor as he came down the stairs. Excuse him if having crossbows pointed at him tended to annoy him just a tad.
"What are you doing here?"
"Sketching. Drawing. Being creative." Vortigern rolled his pencil between slender fingers. "Thinking about how many ways me and Spike can shag." Connor glared. "He's good. Has over a hundred years of experience, after all," Vortigern said lightly, knowing he was really testing the other guy's self control. "He loves to top. I love to let him." He grinned. Connor's crossbow came up. "You kill me, Daddy will be *most* annoyed. And then Spike will come and kill you slowly, with Mordred to help him."
Faith
Faith stood up and grinned at Connor.
"Hey junior. I don't think you'll be hurting Vortigern. Unless of course, you're lookin to get anything whoopin?"
Connor sneered. "You can't take me."
Faith grinned evilly. "Really? Then come on, pick me up a switch son, there's about to be a whoopin."
Connor advanced on Faith and she made a big show of yawning as Angel came back.
"Connor, weapon down! Faith, no fighting."
Faith frowned. "Spoil my fun." She turned to Connor. "You're lucky I respect your daddy, or you'd be going down."
Vortigern
"You should let her. He's rude." Vortigern got to his feet easily and stretched. "Threatening to kill me right here. I've already taken a bulllet and a knife. Wonder what a crossbow bolt feels like?"
"You can find out." The crossbow came back up, and Vortigern flipped Connor off. Angel forced the crossbow back down.
"As I sad, rude. I'm going for coffee. Anyone want anything?" Vortigern asked, sliding one of his pencils behind his ear and closing his sketchbook in a descisive snap. Angel shook his head, and Connor stalked off after one last glare at Vortigern.
Faith
Faith sighed and settled herself back on the couch with a reproachful look at Angel.
"He's right, you know. He does deserve an ass kicking."
Angel nodded. "I know. But he's still my son."
Connor appeared at the top of the stairs. "I don't deserve an ass kicking, and I could beat you down anyway, Slayer."
Faith grinned and stood up. "Well, bring it on, bitch."
Angel shook his head. "Connor, go to your room."
"I'm not a kid."
"NOW!"
Connor skittered off looking frightened and Faith giggled.
"Way to go Papa Bear."
Vortigern
Vortigern laughed out loud. "Very scary. If I was crossbow pyscho, I'd be scared. Didn't even go gameface. Mmm. Coffee now, be back in a bit." Vortigern headed out of the Hotel in search of coffee.
Faith
Faith grinned at Vort's back as he left.
"He's nice. I like him."
Angel smiled at her and kissed her head lightly. "I have some work to do, we talk later?"
"Sure, I might throw down with your son."
Angel frowned.
"Fine, we'll spar. Whatever."
Angel nodded. "Don't kill him. Have fun." He turned and left.
"Hey, Junior!"
Connor appeared again. "Junior has a name."
"Right, kid. Feel like a spar?"
Connor jumped down from the balcony and landed in front of her. She kicked his legs out from under him. "Ready, kid?" She emphasized the word knowing it would annoy him.
Connor growled and went out the front, Faith following so they could spar in the courtyard.
Vortigern
Vortigern didn't know who or what, but he was being watched. Intently. He could feel the eyes on the back of his neck so he paid quickly for his cup of hot vanilla latte, and headed back to the Hotel. He was nearly there, finishing the last few sips of his drink when a guy stepped in front of him. Vortigern moved around, telepathy not needed to tell him this guy wanted a fight. He was grabbed and thrown.
"Dirty little fag, saw you last night at the club, god, how disgusting..." Low ugly mantra and Vortigern tried to call out, to do something as the man who was attacking picked him up by the shoulders and shook him, before throwing him again. He hit a wall.
"Unh!" Couldn't concentrate, couldn't call out. Vortigern gasped in air desperately, and lashed out. He got a punch in the face for his troubles. "Ah!" Vortigern managed to get a knee into the guy's groin and ran for it. He skittered into the courtyard of the Hotel Hyperion, and looked around, eyes a bit wide. "Sweet Jesus and all his angels. Thank god he didn't follow me." He sank down onto a bench and tenderly felt his eye. "Homophobes. Even in LA, right?"
Faith
Faith kicked Connor against the wall, beating him down for the millionth time that minute. She spotted Vort slip in and she held up her hands in time out to Connor. Connor grumbled and left, holding his ribs and bleeding all over the ground.
"Hey, what happened?"
Vortigern
Vortigern looked up, and smiled slightly, then hissed as the smile stretched his split lip. "Someone who saw me at the club last night with Spike, decided to express his righteous indignation at the fact that two men can find each other attractive." He looked down again. "At least he didn't go for my hands. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't paint. Threw me into a wall a few times, shook me around some, punched and kicked me, but thank you god, he didn't hurt my hands," Vortigern said with true gratitude.
Faith
Faith sighed.
"Nothing like being in LA."
She patted Vort's shoulder awkwardly, moving to sit next to him. "You want me to find him and beat the crap out of him?"
Vortigern and Mordred
"Spike would get jealous. I should call Mordred..." Vortigern tilted his hea back slightly. Wolf? I need Spike.
Sure thing. Mordred appeared one hand on Spike's arm and then he growled ferally when he saw Vortigern's face. Spike's demon came forward and he rushed to Vortigern. "I'll kill them."
"Not if I kill them first," Spike snarled, one hand caressing Vortigern's bruised face. "What happened, love?"
"A guy, recognised me from the club. Came after me because he saw me dancing with you," Vortigern replied softly. Mordred's upper lip had lifted to show his teeth.
"He is gonna wish he never was born. I'm gonna repay blood for blood, bruise for bruise, ten times over. I'm gonna rip his bloody heart out and *eat* it!" Spike's angry words were in direct contrast to the loving way he touched Vortigern's small cuts and scrapes.
"Don't kill him. Don't get arrested. But feel free to hurt him. A lot." Vortigern stroked the ridges on Spike's face softly.
"Thanks, love." Spike leant in for a quick kiss, which turned into a longer one.
"Let's go," Mordred snapped, fists clenched. "You can track him, right?"
"Yeah, I can find him." Spike stood and pushed his demon off his face. "You wanna come with, Slayer?" He quirked his eyebrow at Faith
Faith
Faith grinned at the affection displayed in front of her.
"Love to. But I can't stay out that long. Angel wants a talk later."
She paused and looked at Mordred. "Hi, I'm Faith by the way."
Mordred and Vortigern
"Mordred, or Wolf. I'm feeling rather wolvish at the moment." Mordred's grin was scary. "Didn't get to fight Gunn last night when I wanted to, have some agression I need to work out."
"Right." Spike's head swivelled slightly as he sniffed the air. "Let's go." The vampire unerringly set off in direction of the one who'd hurt his lover. Mordred barked a laugh and followed him, Faith by his side. Vortigern got up and went inside. Maybe he could find some ice in the freezer.
Faith
Faith cracked her knuckles.
"So where's Gwen? I still wanna meet this girl."
Mordred and Vortigern
"Gwen's sleeping. I left a note." Mordred shrugged. "She'll understand. When I tell her why I took so long."
"She's a good sort," Spike agreed, and then he pointed at an guy in his early twenties. "That one. Dark hair, grey jumper."
"Gotcha." Mordred nodded, 'ported, grabbed the guy, 'ported back, touched Faith and Spike, then 'ported to the lobby of the hotel. Mordred flung the guy away with an exclaimation of disgust. "Go for it, Spike."
"Ta, wolf." Spike cracked his knuckles and the guy backed away.
"Whoa, what the hell is this?"
"Spike?" Vortigern came to the door, holding an icepack to his eye, then he saw the guy and backed away slightly.
"*You*." Spike had had enough of this guy, so he drew back his fist and slammed it into the guys face, breaking his nose. "Nngh! You broke my freaking nose!"
"You hurt my lover. I plan to break a lot more then that," Spike snarled.
"And I'm gonna help. And so's she. Aren't you the idiot?" Mordred smiled slightly.
Faith
"She? She's just a girl!"
Faith grinned sweetly then roundhouse kicked the guy to the ground. "That's what I keep saying, but does anyone listen?"
The guy backed away. "Look, I'm sorry, I am. I am."
Faith shrugged. "You know what? Don't care."
Mordred and Vortigern
"You hurt my twin." Mordred punched the guy over and over in the stomach, eyes cold. Caught him when he would have fallen to the floor, then shoved him at Spike. "Catch."
"He's *mine*. You don't bloody touch what's mine!" Spike vamped out and the guy screamed. The vampire punched the guy under the chin, breaking his jaw. That put paid to the screaming for a bit. Reduced it to moaning, anyway. Vortigern watched wide-eyed.
Gwen
Gwen had woken up and found Mordred's note and decided to go see Angel and find out what was happening.
She stepped through the doors of the Hotel lobby to see Mordred, Spike and some girl beating up a guy. She extended her hand and sent a zap at the guy, knocking him down for a second.
"What's happening?"
Vortigern and Mordred
Spike snarled, then hoisted the guy back up onto his feet, before throwing him into a wall. Mordred prowled over to Gwen, blue eyes gleaming with passion. "Hello, love." He kissed her deeply. "He hurt Vort. We're making him hurt...a lot more." Spike looked up from pounding on the guy and grinned around his fangs.
"God, I could've warned you, you idiot. Maybe this will help you be a bit more openminded." Vortigern shook his head. Spike let the guy drop onto the floor again and stalked over to Vortigern.
"Mine." He kissed Vortigern almost savagely, fangs not quite slicing through the mortal's lips.
"Yours," Vortigern agreed breathlessly.
Angel appeared at the top of the stairs, and all the conscious people's head swivelled to face him as he asked icily, "What is going on here?"
"Nothing for you to concern yourself in, peaches. We're about done, anyway," Spike growled.
Faith
Faith smiled sheepishly. "Sorry Angel. The kid wasn't a big enough challenge for me."
Gwen turned to Faith for the first time. "You'd be Faith then?"
"Yeah, I'll guess you're Gwen."
"Mmmhmm, that's me." Gwen glanced at the guy and sent another bolt of electricity his way.
Mordred
"Nice, love. You're very useful to have around." Mordred grinned proudly.
"We'll spar, later, pet?" Spike turned his head to look at Faith. "Look, poof, you can't blame me. He *hurt* my boy. If I didn't have the soul, he'd be turned by now so I could take my time." Spike curled his lip up and snarled at Angel.
Gwen and Faith
Gwen smiled and kissed Mordred again.
"Mm you're not bad to have around yourself."
Faith shrugged at Angel's expression. "Sorry, majority rules here, sweetie."
Mordred and Vortigern
Mordred nuzzled Gwen's neck lovingly, and then strode over to the bleeding moaning man on the floor. He lifted the heavier man with one hand laced into the back of his hair. "I'm gonna dump him in some cold water. Hope you can swim, mate." Mordred disappeared.
"Love you," Vortigern told Spike softly. The vampire grinned dopily as he slid out of gameface.
"Love you too, pet." Mordred reapeared, brushing his hands against the other. Spike swivelled his head. "House. Now."
"My stuff..."
"He can bring it later." Spike licked up Vortigern's neck.
"Later."
Mordred smirked slightly as he stepped towards the two blondes and then 'ported. He reappeared minus them.
OH DEAR SWEET MOTHER OF CHRIST! Mordred flinched slightly, then turned off his connection with Vortigern.
"Ahh, Vort's very vocal at points." He rubbed the back of his head.
Gwen
Gwen kissed Mordred again. "He's not the only vocal one," she said, her eyes playful.
Mordred
"Your neighbours probably think you're running a brothel or something," Mordred teased right back. "You make me see sparks, and stars and touch heaven. Love you." He kissed her, tasting her. Angel coughed politely, and Mordred flipped him off with two fingers.
FAith and Gwen
Faith giggled.
"Ah love lifts up where we belong."
Angel rolled his eyes good naturedly. "Yeah, all we need is love."
Gwen kissed Mordred then pulled away. "I'm kinda curious about you Faith. We should hang out later." Then she returned her eyes to Mordred. "But we should hang out now, lover."
Mordred
"Ye think?" Mordred purred. "Right, we're off." He quickly picked up Vortigern's drawing materials. "Say your goodbyes, love." He wrapped an arm around her waist.
Gwen and Faith
Gwen smiled. "Bye. Nice meeting you, Faith."
Faith laughed. "You too." She turned to Angel. "Ya wanna go have that talk now?"
Mordred
"See ya, broodboy, Faith." He nodded, then 'ported to Gwen's bedroom. He put her down on the bed, placed Vortigern's drawing materials outside the door, then shut it with his foot as he turned around. "You were saying, Gwen?"
Gwen
"Who has time for talk?"
Gwen grinned cheekily, undoing her shirt as Mordred came towards her.
Mordred
"Who indeed?" He pushed her down onto the bed, hands already working on getting rid of all her clothes. His as well.
