Kirk and Chloe
"So come you're not at the ball?" Kirk asked, sidling up beside her.
"Me? At a social occasion? Please," Chloe shook her head, "why aren't you?"
"I have a feeling I wouldn't be very welcome after late happenings," Kirk rolled his eyes, looking up at the sky.
Chloe smiled and hugged him.
"It's good to see you again babe."
"Ditto. Told ya I'd keep an eye on ya, didn't I?"
"Well you didn't do a very good job. I've been off in NY for a few weeks and you never missed me."
"Well I've had alot on my mind," Kirk grinned, "I found who I was looking for."
"Who?"
"You know, the duplicate I told you about."
"You found them?" Chloe raised her eyebrows, shifting her position on the edge of the roof of an apartment complex.
"Yep, both of them. Thought one was dead for a while, but I've seen them together now. They're doing ok."
"So, who are they?"
"Taylor Hanson and Christian Thomas," Kirk replied smugly.
"Hanson? Thomas? Who's Thomas?"
"Christian was brought up by the Spider. You know, telepathic bad guy? Christian is the duplicate. I gave him to Doug and Anne Thomas soon after he was 'born'. Anne disappeared and Doug was killed, so Craig brought him up."
"Got yourself some famous kids or what?"
"Well..." Kirk considered, "Christian isn't a widely publicized person. Although that might change soon..."
"How?" Chloe looked interested.
"Christian slept with a stalker of Taylor's, and now the stalker's pregnant with his kid. Except she thinks it's Taylor's."
He pulled out a magazine from his trench coat and opened it to a 2- page spread. Then he handed it to Chloe.
She read it over. And chuckled.
"I'm guessing Taylor's not gonna let this go lightly."
