16 May 2003 - Tension

Gwen

Gwen glanced at her watch.

Damn, she was late for meeting Bobby.

And she was never going to leave alone, if Mordred had his way.

She looked over at him.

"Mord, I have to go meet Bobby... ten minutes ago actually."

Mordred

Mordred shifted on his feet, knowing she was angry. Damn, he hated being a telepath sometimes. He just couldn't seem to relax unless he knew both she and Vortigern were alright. Since Spike was with Vortigern, he could relax there. And he could always feel Vortigern in the back of his head anyway. "So, let's go then." He knew he looked a bit on edge. He'd been like that since Glory and Cain. Jumpy. Jittery. Prone to snarling and lashing out. Hell, he provoked Sabre as often as possible just so he could let some of the tension out.

Gwen and Bobby

Gwen opened her mouth to tell him she didn't need a chaperone, but decided against it.

"Yeah sure."

She stretched her arms out and started walking to the cafeteria to find Bobby sitting patiently at their usual table.

"Hey Bobby."

"Hey Gwen, Mord."

Mordred

"Hey Bobby." Quick reflexive scan of the area, blue eyes dark in suspicion. Things changed so quickly. Everything could...he shut the thought off and leaned against the wall. Still alert as he watched the surrounding crowd. "So. Food. Sounds good." He tried to smile, aware he failed miserably. More of a nervous muscle twitch.

Gwen and Bobby

As she sat down, Gwen tried unsuccessfully to disentangle herself from Mordred's possessive arm. Seriously man, the cafeteria was safe.

"Sorry we haven't been doing much hanging lately, Bobby."

Bobby noticed the tensions rising between Gwen and Mordred, but ignored it, acting like he wasn't noticing. "Oh no, that's cool. You've had other things on your mind."

Mordred

"We all have." Mordred let Gwen go, and they both sat down at the table. He drummed his fingers nervously on the table, noticed Gwen's glare, and stopped. "Sorry, alright?" He glanced over the crowd again.

Gwen and Bobby

"Honestly, it's safe here. Calm down, geez." Gwen rolled her eyes and cracked her knuckles in frustration.

Bobby gave a sympathetic smile and lay his hand on her shoulder, and gave her a look as though to calm her down slightly.

"So how you feeling after everything? You and I haven't had a chance to catch up..."

Mordred

Mordred almost growled, but stopped when he saw Gwen's face. "Yeah, here's safe." He bit his lip hard to keep the words in, drawing blood. He could taste the salty copper tang in his mouth.

Gwen and Bobby

Gwen ignored Mordred for a second, he was getting way too possessive. It was annoying her. She gave her full attention to Bobby.

"This and that, you know, snake bite, ex boyfriends, all the usual trimmings that come with being me. What about you?"

"Met the Olsen twins... can't tell them apart yet, but I'm seeing Ashley in a few days actually. So that's pretty good, I guess."

"Aww, no more moping over me? Well I'm hurt you don't wanna keep pining over me." Gwen giggled and Bobby playfully punched her arm.

"Ah well I can't spend my life wishing I was with you."

Gwen smiled and pulled Bobby in for a hug, while messing his hair up.

Mordred and Vortigern

Mordred's blue eyes promised death for Bobby. Long, slow, painful death. He tossed his head and looked away, aloof. Vortigern and Spike entered across the room, and he nodded to them.

What's wrong? Spike and Vortigern sat down chatting across the room, doing all the lover stuff.

Stressed. Feel like there's an itch under my skin.

You'll be fine. Relax a little.

Bobby and Gwen

Bobby noticed Mordred's looks and he pulled away, then reached over and mussed her hair.

"Hey, you did it to me."

Gwen grinned cheekily and created a spark in her hand. He froze it, smiling triumphantly.

"Oh you... I'll shock you one day, you know."

"Sure you will. And they'll discover that watermelon can fly."

Gwen giggled and slapped Bobby over the head. "You're so..."

"Charming?"

"Annoying. But it's why I love ya."

Mordred

Mordred froze. Twitched slightly while his mind scrambled to reassure himself that she didn't mean it. Couldn't. No. God, he was being so paranoid. He noticed Vortigern's worried stare from across the room, and nodded to show he was alright. "More twins. The mansion's gonna be full of us. What will you singles do?" He tried to force himself to relax, grinning slightly cynically.

Bobby and Gwen

Bobby shrugged. "Feel like half a pair of scissors? The Olsens aren't staying here, they were just scouting for locations for movies. Or something."

Gwen giggled. "Not terribly interested in the listening? Just wanting to look at them?"

He nodded. "Maybe."

"Ooh, makes me feel jealous." Catching Mordred's look, she rolled her eyes, and patted his hand gently. "I'm just kidding."

Mordred

"I know." Mordred smiled back, losing himself in her eyes again, letting her safe prescence soothe him. "Don't blame me, it's my paranoia talking. He's noisy at times." He caight her hand and riased it to his lips, kissing the back of it before letting go.

Gwen and Bobby

Gwen smiled and returned her attention to Bobby.

"So you still need help with Physics? We can be study buddies tonight, if ya want or just hang, you and me, like old times."

"Sounds good. I need ya, you're the best study buddy ever."

Gwen faked a blush. "Aw shucks. I'm not that good." She giggled.

Mordred and Vortigern

"Better then me at any rate. I'm just good with my hands." Mordred rolled his head around on his neck. "I'll leave the brain stuff to you lot." He thought he sensed something, and his head whipped up, ears pricked, eyes wary.

You alright, wolf?

Fine. I'm fine. Just...jumpy. He settled himself slowly again.

Gwen and Bobby

Gwen turned around and looked into Mordred's eyes.

"It's safe here. I promise you. We're all fine."

Bobby could see Gwen was getting a little annoyed and wondered if he had anything to do with it. He sipped his drink quietly as Gwen's eyes returned to his.

"Oh, I don't think I ever had the chance, but thanks for taking me to the hospital after the whole snake thing."

Bobby waved casually. "Nah, don't worry about it."

Mordred

"I should've been there." Mordred started when he realised he'd spoken aloud. Damn. He was really slipping.

Gwen and Bobby

"At least one of us was," Bobby replied reassuringly.

Gwen nodded. "Yeah, all that matters is that I'm ok. And still alive. And still remarkably wonderful."

"You're not wrong there, electro."

"Aww Iceboy is being all nice to me again. Guess I should repay the favour... but I'm not gonna!"

Bobby playfully pulled Gwen into a headlock and she struggled before lightly shocking him.

"Ha! Told ya I'd shock you one day!"

Morded and Vortigern

Mordred grinned uneasily. "Way to go, Gwen. That's my girl."

You want I should come over?

Nah, stay there and suck face with your vampire.

Oh, bloody brilliant idea, that. Right in front of Logan, I had sex with Scott and I still can't get over that, cos I'a manly man, and guys don't do that if they're *men*?

Mordred snickered, then looked up. "Vort. Twin thing." He couldn't keep the amused smile from his lips. "Debating the should he kiss Spike in front of Wolverine, who's just that little bit uncertain of his sexuality at the moment."

Gwen and Bobby

"He should go for it." Gwen grinned, looking over at Vort and waving.

Bobby waved too. "Yeah... if he wants to? I have no idea about what's happening there."

"I'll clue you in later. So how's about we go for a walk or something?"

Mordred, Vortigern and Logan

Kiss him. Go for it. Mordred's grin was pure teen malicous evil, as Vortigern leaned over the table and wet his lips, smiling slightly. "Walk sounds good. Catch ya later, Bobby." He didn't really mind the guy. Just competition, you know? Spike leaned over as well, and Vortigern kissed the vampire hard. "That's what's happening. My twin is sleeping with the undead. Can you say necrophilia? I know you can." He heard Logan choke something out, and a crash as the older mutant dropped his plate.

Now, that was pure evil fun.

You're kissing, and you can still think?

Barely. Oh god. Barely.

Gwen and Bobby

Gwen leaned over and gave Bobby a friendly hug and a kiss on the head.

"Catch ya later, come by anytime. See ya." She hugged him again before taking Mordred's hand and leading him from the cafeteria.

Mordred

They reached the outside and away from eyes of others. He knew he had to say something to try and make it right. "Sorry. I, just, I nearly lost you." He spun on his heel and ran a hand through his already wild hair. He turned back. "I'm on edge. I'm paranoid. I don't know...if either of them came back. You and Vort. I just, bloody hell!"

Gwen

"Calm down, nothing is going to happen to me! I'm sorry, I mean, it's real nice and all, you looking out for me, but after awhile, it gets a bit stifling."

Gwen sighed. "That wasn't meant to sound so callous."

Mordred

Mordred shook his head. "Sorry, but I can't change who I am. I love you. You do know that? The only reason I let my twin out of my sight is that Spike is there. I just don't want to not be there for you again."

Gwen

"I'm not asking you to change, I'm asking you to just back off a bit. I'm fine. Nothing is going to happen, honestly."

Gwen walked a few inches away and turned around. "Look, I love you too. I just... I need to have space sometimes, you know? I love that you wanna protect me, but you're forgetting that I can take care of myself."

Mordred

"I know. I know, I know." Mordred shook his head in frustration. "Bloody hell, I don't have the words to explain this. I'm...used to being the one who protects. Wolf, yeah? Guard dog. And I don't trust that nothing's gonna happen. I failed twice with Vort, once with you. I *don't* plan on being too late again."

Gwen

Gwen felt her temper rise and she shot some sparks in the air.

"You didn't fail me, ok? It doesn't matter that you weren't there, because Bobby was, so it all worked out. You can't always be there for everyone, there are bound to be times when you slip up. And besides, what are you going to do when I'm in LA? You can't watch me all the time."

Mordred

"I bloody well *know*, and it's gonna screw with my head like you won't believe." Mordred bared his teeth for an instant, feral. "And I did fail you. I *should* have been there."

Gwen

"Mordred! You didn't fail me, you didn't know that a snake was going to bite me! Sometimes things just happen and it can't be explained, they just do."

Gwen shook her head in frustration.

Mordred

"I should have been there to catch you when you fell." Mordred's eyes darkened, why couldn't she see that? Bloody hell, he wanted to hit something. Someone. Glory. Oh yeah, he wanted to kill that bitch.

Gwen

"But that doesn't matter to me! And it shouldn't to you, because Bobby was there! So I was ok. I was always gonna be ok. Because he was there, why can't you just be grateful for that?"

Gwen closed her eyes, counting to ten and taking a deep breath.

Mordred

"It matters to me, alright? It bloody well matters to me! You just, you were so still. I tore a punching bag apart, did they tell you that? The first night?" Mordred's hands were still sore, more then a week later. "Tore it into pieces with my bare hands and feet. So worried, so frightened, and so bloody mad at myself. I'm grateful that he was there..." Doesn't change the fact it should've been me...he kept that part of the sentance to himself.

Gwen

"I know you were worried, and I'm sorry that you were, but..."

Gwen peered into his eyes.

"Are you angry because it was Bobby instead of you?"

Mordred

Mordred bit down on his lip again. Not saying a bloody word, he wasn't. "I..." He closed his eyes, fighting for control, then opened them again. "Please don't go into this. Feels like I only just got you back, and I missed you. I don't want to fight." Why the bloody hell had he opened his bloody mouth?

Gwen

"That's it, isn't it? You're jealous of Bobby?"

Gwen wasn't going to drop this, the only way they could get through this was if they worked it out. Now.

Mordred

"Gwen, love, drop it. Please," Mordred pleaded. "I don't want to fight. Not with you."

Gwen

"No, if we don't talk about this now, then it'll just sit in the back of our minds. Why are you so threatened by him?"

Mordred and Vortigern

"I said, I didn't want to talk about it, love." Mordred's face was set in stone.

Wolf? What's wrong?

Shove off, Scathach.

Oh, ok. A sense of hurt as his twin withdrew and Mordred wailed inwardly.

Sorry, ok? Just...come back later.

Ok.

Gwen

Gwen rolled her eyes.

"Fine, whatever."

She started to walk away but turned around again.

"I just... I don't get it."

She turned to leave.

Mordred

Mordred stalked after her. He didn't dare touch her; he felt so unconnected to everything, he could hurt her by accident. "I don't have the words. Never was any good with the bloody things. I just...I don't want to lose you. Not now. From anything. And if I was so worried about him, he'd be out cold somewhere already." Yeah, he solved things with his fists. So bloody what? "Can't you just let it go that I worry about you? That I want you to be safe?"

Gwen

"You don't have to worry about Bobby, he's just a bud."

Gwen sighed and took a deep breath again.

"I just need some time alone sometimes. Is that ok?"

Mordred

"I know." Mordred gritted his teeth. God, he wished she was a telepath, or an empth or something...so she could feel what he felt, so he didn't have to use words. "I just...worry." He reached out and touched her shoulder. "I don't have the same link with you like I do my brother. I don't *feel* you in the back of my head. If something happened to him, I'd feel it instantly. If something happened to you...I could be too late."

Gwen

"But you don't have to. Mordred, I've lived my life just fine without you worrying about me before... you know, you're beginning to remind me of Angel."

Mordred

"Don't compare me to him." Mordred went suddenly still, and he pulled his hand back.

Gwen

"Well you are, what with the lurking and the worrying and the now brooding. If I wanted Angel, I'd go back to LA and have him."

Mordred

"So, why don't you go back to LA, and have him?" Mordred snarled, wounded and hurting and wanting to make her hurt too. "Gwen, hell, I'm sorry." He raked a hand through his hair viciously. "I shouldn'tve said that. I didn't mean it."

Gwen

Gwen took a step back. She wriggled her fingers, and sent a bolt of electricity shooting past him.

"You wouldn't've said it if you didn't mean it a bit."

Mordred

"Neither would you." Hurt and jealous anger in his eyes. "If you're gonna do stuff like that, hit me at least." It hurts less then my heart. He spread his arms wide, inviting the shot, twisted grin on his lips. Oh, this was too famaliar. I love you, Mordred. Step on the footpath. Shock as he came to her house too early. Love you. Didn't mean it. I love you! Running into the rain. Thunder rolling and the lightening lighting the skies. So, the electricty works in too.

Gwen

"Don't tempt me, right?"

Gwen made another spark and sent it shooting straight into the air.

Mordred and Vortigern

"Oh, I'm tempting, babe." He spread his arms wider, even lifting his head a little, making his chest as wide and inviting a target as possible. "At least this is above board."

Wolf, what are you doing...? Mordred ignored his twin.

Gwen

"Don't be an asshole."

Gwen shot a spark past him again.

"If you keep this up, I'll go inside and find Bobby and do the hell out of him."

Mordred

"Wouldn't make you the first girlfriend to do it, would it?" He laughed bitterly. "Not with me." The sound of raindrops thudded through his head. Gwen. He loved her. She hurt him. It was becoming a theme.

Gwen

Gwen let out a loud cry of anger.

"Mordred, I really don't get this, why are you behaving like such an ass? What is really going on here?"

MOrdred and Vortigern

"Why does a wolf do anything but bite? Why do I love you so much that if you shocked me it would hurt less then what you say? Why am I so terminally screwed in everything I do? Why, why, why?"

Wolf, what the hell are you doing? Vortigern was more then worried now. I'm coming.

No. Stay where you are, Vortigern.

Mordred, I'm coming.

Stay.

No. What's going on with Gwen?

Why do you think anything going's on with Gwen?

Cos you only hurt this bad when June-

Don't even say her name. "You gonna take the swing, Gwen?" He stared at her. "I'm game if you are."

Bobby and Gwen

Bobby heard the yelling and came out to see what was happening.

"Guys, calm down! Don't fight."

Gwen ignored Bobby, staring in determination at Mordred.

"I'm not trying to hurt you, Christ!"

Mordred and Vortigern

"Oh, do tell. Certainly doesn't look or sound like it to me." Hurt, hurt, hurt. "Why don't you just go and do Bobby's brains out, like you said you would?" He swung his head to look at Bobby. "Congrats, by the way." His eyes were bright. But not with tears. Never with tears.

Wolf, I am coming now. Vortigern pressed a repentant kiss to Spike's mouth. "I have to go, my twin is currently screwing up any chance he has with Gwen. He has a bad history, and he finds it hard to differentiate."

"I'll come with you, luv." Spike grabbed his duster, and the two set off quickly.

Bobby and Gwen

Bobby looked confused. He turnd to Gwen. "What?"

"Ignore him, he's being an asshole."

Gwen smiled sweetly at Mordred. "You know what, maybe I will take Bobby for a test drive, after all, anything's gotta be better than you!"

Bobby blinked. Well that was just uncalled for. "Anything's better? What is going on?"

Mordred and Vortigern

"Why the hell not? Of course, if what you want is Angel, I'm sure I could get Dru to turn me. Is it the lack of a heartbeat that does it for ya? The cold?" Mordred's face was pale. God, he loved her so much it hurt. "And Dem never complained that I was anything but good in bed."

"Bloody hell, Spike, run faster!" Vortigern broke into a flat out run now, knowing his twin was dancing the line and wanting so much to fall over it.

Gwen and Bobby

Gwen yelled out in frustration again and shot a spark of electricity at his chest.

Bobby stepped forward and put her arms down. "Gwen, don't. Gwen."

' Mordred and Vortigern

"Well, you know, that actually hurt a lot less then my heart does right now," Mordred said consideringly, and he cocked his head. "Why don't you do it again, lover? Convince that you hate me. Maybe that way I can stop loving you."

"MORDRED!" Vortigern took in the scene and strode over to his twin. "You stop it right now, you hear? She's not June-"

"Shut UP!" Mordred hauled back his fist and sent his twin crashing to the floor. "Dear god." He shook, and then dropped to his knees. "Oh god, Vort, I'm so sorry." Spike dove on him and Mordred let the vampire hit him, body jerking as the vampire did his very best to beat the boy senseless. Sosorrysosorrysosorrysosorry...

"Spike, stop it, please, stop it," Vortigern said shakily. "Spike, he'll let you kill him. Stop, Spike, please." The vampire did as Vortigern asked, eyes glaring feral yellow. Mordred spat blood in the vampire's face. Spike snarled. "Mordred, stop it."

Want to hurt, need to bleed, bloody hell, can't you just let him? I *HURT* you.

And I forgive you.

I hurt Gwen, and I didn't mean to. She just kept pushing and pushing, and then she said just the wrong thing. And I wanted to hurt her back so badly.

Gwen and Bobby

Gwen was crying now and Bobby moved to hug her.

"It's ok... shhh."

Mordred and Vortigern

"God, I can't do this." Mordred went to 'port, but found his tein's hand on his very firmly.

"No. You won't run. It's not raining here." A look of shared memory. Spike was still very reluctant to let Mordred up, but moved away as Vortigern pushed him. "Shh, wolf."

"I'm so sorry. So so sorry." Vortigern hugged his twin, rocking back and forth slightly. Mordred clutched at him desperatly.

"Let me have the words for you?"

"Yes."

Vortigern sighed and raised his head to look at Gwen. "I told you he had a bad history, yeah? This is part of it. He came over to his girlfriend's house early one night. She was...riding his friend into the mattress. Shall we leave it there?"

"You left out the bit where she yelled out she loved me. And that I caught pnuemonia cos I went running in the rain." Mordred's lips twisted up in a bitter grin. "I loved her. I love you, Gwen. Everyone has their hidden demons. This is one of mine."

Gwen and Bobby

Gwen nodded sadly. She looked into Mordred's eyes, but quickly looked away, unable to speak.

Bobby released his grip on her and she backed away silently.

Without speaking, she took off in the opposite direction of the school. She looked up and as if nature knew what was happening, it had started to rain.

Gwen felt sparks radiating off her body, she was unable to control them at the moment, her emotions were too strong within her. She was about to go back when a bolt of lightening shot from the sky and hit her, sending her flying into a tree.

"Damn..."

Mordred and Vortigern

"GWEN!" Mordred's head snapped up and he howled her name before teleporting. "Gwen, love, I'm sorry, so sorry, please, be alright, please, hell, I'm sorry, I love you, I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." He picked her up, tears running down his face.

"Crap." Vortigern heaved himself off the floor and ran for it. Spike followed him.

Gwen

Gwen opened her eyes slightly, her back was aching, she couldn't move.

"I love you."

Then everything went black.

Mordred and vortigern

Mordred howled the cry of the wolf, unbearable agony laced into every second it lingered in the air. He 'ported to the infirmary, tears running down his bruised and bloody face. "Shh, love, I got you." He laid her out on a bed tenderly. "Got you, I do, love. I'm so sorry, Gwen. So sorry. JEAN!" He put a finger on her pulsepoint...her heart was still beating, thank god. "Somebody who can help Gwen!"

"Bloody hell! Infirmary, he went to the infirmary." Vortigern spun on his heel and headed to the infirmary.

"Oh, this cannot be good." Spike headed after his lover.

Gwen

Gwen opened her eyes again and smiled weakly at Mordred. She sat up slowly, her head spinning.

"I'm alright, honestly. It happens all the time."

Mordred

"I'm so sorry, so sorry, forgive me?" Mordred looked at her with real fear. What if she couldn't? "I, I am so sorry."

Gwen

Gwen shook with cold. She reached over and hugged Mordred.

"It's ok, I'm sorry too."

She pulled away.

"Maybe we need to get away from here for awhile... how do you feel about coming to LA for a bit?"

Mordred and Vortigern

"LA sounds good. Anywhere were you are sounds good to me. You're cold. I think I can find a blanket somewhere..." Mordred looked around. "Or do you just want to go to your room?"

Vortigern appeared at the door, breathing hard. "You two are alright?"

"Might be going to LA for a bit."

"Oh, sodding hell." Spike looked disgusted, then brightened. "Don't think I could come along and rub it in peaches's face that my soul doesn't have a happiness cause? And ain't I glad it don't?" He grabbed Vortigern and kissed him hard.

"Oh yeah, me too."

Gwen

"If ya want. Angel is still... Angel, I guess. Still broody, but come along for the fun of it."

Gwen looked at Mordred. "We'll stay at my house, not the hotel, sound ok?"

Mordred and Vortigern

"Sounds good. We can figure out a place to put that painting." Mordred smiled lazily, not caring that smiling pulled at his cut lip painfully. "I can 'port us there. When do you want to leave?"

"I don't think the proffesor would mind if we all took off for a holiday. He's got enough on his mind, and let's face it, we all need the breathing space to put distance between us and the memories." Vortigern's mind eye travelled to the corridor where Cain had flung the knife into his chest, and shivered. "I know I could. And didn't you say Angel drew?"

"Yeah. But I don't want you to ensconce yourself with his brooding majesty all day. Clear?"

"Sure thing, Spike." Vortigern smiled back at his vampire. "So, are you two alright now?"

Gwen

Gwen nodded wearily. "Yeah... can we go now? I really don't wanna stick around anymore. I just need some stuff from my room."

Mordred

"Anything for you." Mordred kissed her gently.

"I'll go and get our stuff ready, ok?"

"Sure thing." Mordred teleported Gwen to her room. "Anything you want me to get down for you?"

Gwen

Gwen shook her head and collected her belongings and stuffed them back in her bag. There wasn't a lot to take, seeing as she hadn't intended to stay for very long.

A thought crossed her mind and she turned to Mordred, worried about his reaction.

"I think I should say bye to Bobby at least."

Mordred and Vortigern

"Go ahead," Mordred said simply. "I'll go get my stuff ready. I have some goodbyes to make as well. Tav and Dem are going to bitch." He smiled wryly.

Vortigern packed some clothes, but the most of his things were drawing pads, pencils and things like that. Spike watched in amusement. "C'mon, fang, you can help me move that painting." Wolf, when Gwen's ready, come to the garage. We can take the painting with us.

"Vortigern says to meet him and Spike in the garage. He wants to take the painting with us." He reached out and touched the side of her face. "I am so sorry. I just...ever been in a black mood where everything you say or do just makes it worse, and you can't find your way out?"

Gwen and Bobby

Gwen stroked the side of Mordred's face affectionately.

"We will talk later, properly."

She left and headed for Bobby's room. Letting herself in, she saw him sitting alone by the window.

"I'm sorry you had to see and hear that."

He looked up. "Gwen... don't worry about it. You're ok, right?"

"Yeah, I am. Thanks. Look, Mord, Vort, Spike and I are taking off to LA for a few days... I just came to say bye."

"Not forever though?"

"No. Never. Best buds, remember?" Gwen hugged Bobby, wanting to cry again, but pushed it aside. She kissed his cheek softly. "See ya soon."

She gave him a final ruffle of his hair and headed for the garage.

Mordred and Vortigern

Mordred packed quickly, throwing in some clothes and a few car mags that he was studying. Popped in to see Demetria and Octavian briefly, who bitched then told him good luck. Saw Nyx. Got a few spells set over the four of them. Saw the professor, and that didn't even need any words. He 'ported back to the garage and nodded. "We're set. Let's go. Need a picture, Gwen. Do you mind if I...?" He put his hands near Gwen's temples. At her nod, he delicately drew the image he needed from her mind, and they 'ported. The four looked around.

"Mordred, I don't think this is Gwen's house."

"Well, *shit*." They'd arrived at the lobby of the Hotel Hyperion.
