Noah
Noah fidgeted outside the hallway of AJ's room. She'd been staying with them for awhile, her dad had gone away again, and seeing as he knew Noah's dad, he thought it would be ok to let AJ stay. After all, Noah and AJ didn't have feelings for each other. Well, not any feelings that their parents knew about.
He knocked on the door, feeling somewhat nervous for some reason.
"Uh, AJ?"
AJ
AJ looked up from the desk when she heard him.
Grinning, she jumped up and grabbed the doorknob, opening it.
"Hey babe," she chuckled, then grabbed his arm and pulled him into the room.
Noah
Noah let himself be wrenched into the room. He pecked AJ on the cheek and sat down on her bed.
"I have a question for ya, you can say no if you want..."
AJ
AJ sat at her desk again and started doodling absently on her writing pad.
"Well that's depends on what you're gonna ask, don't it?" she chuckled.
Noah
Noah gave a big speel on YIRAAS and what it was about and who it involved, and all that. He could see he was losing AJ, but he couldn't blame her. He wasn't exactly Mr Story-Teller.
Finishin up, he rolled his eyes. "Well, that's not the point. The point is that the YIRAAS Ball is coming up, and I was wondering if you'd wanna go. With me. Obviously."
AJ
AJ raised her eyebrows, trying to come to terms with what he'd told her. Marco had mentioned the YIRAAS before, but hadn't gone into that much detail.
"Um..."
She scratched her head.
"I mean, yeah, I'll go with you. Just gotta..." she hesitated, screwing her face up, "guess I have to get used to alien company, s'all."
Then she gave him a weird look.
"Do I have to wear a dress? Or a skirt?"
Noah
"Yeah, it's kinda formal... so maybe a dress. I guess you might be able to get away with a pantsuit thing. I don't know, at any rate, I have to wear a suit." Noah groaned.
He grinned at her, happy that she was going to come with him.
"Have I told you recently how glad I am you're staying here?"
He paused for a second. "Oh yeah, Lys and Adam and all the boys will be there, so it should be fairly fun."
AJ
AJ groaned at the thought of wearing a dress.
"You know what? I'm gonna try for the pants thing. If I can't get away with that I'm wearing pants under the damn dress. I can't believe girls have to wear that kinda..." she censored her words.
Then she hesitated.
"What's Lys gonna wear then? If she isn't wearing a dress I might copy her."
Noah
Noah let out a laugh.
"Every year, Lys comes up with some sort of punk style dress. She wears a dress, but it's very... her. You'll understand when you see it. But she does wear a dress. Just not a typical one."
He patted her hand. "I think you could get away with pants. Maybe. Just not like jeans. It has to be reasonably formal."
AJ
"Hmm..." AJ tapped her chin.
Then she grinned and sat next to Noah on the bed.
"Maybe I could go hunting for something with her. I think I have enough money with what Dad left me. If I haven't I'll just ring up and complain."
Noah
"Depends if she makes it or buys it. If she makes it, she usually shows me the material and I end up creating it for her. Just the material, she does the sewing. If you had something in mind, she can probably make it."
Noah put his arms around AJ.
"Give her a call, I'm sure she'd be happy to help. She's not exactly a girl girl."
AJ
"And thank God for that," AJ rolled her eyes, "otherwise I wouldn't be in any female company... that I wanted anyway."
Noah
Noah nodded and kissd her forehead softly.
"I better go practice guitar. See ya soon."
And with that, he left.
