Lilah
It was around 7:30 in the morning when Wesley walked into Lilahs apartment. He knew yesterday had been a tough day for her. She today being her day off, he thought he'd bring her breakfast in bed (Bacon & Eggs. Not up to Lilahs usual health standards but he didnt care)
"Lilah?" he called as her closed the door with his foot, "Wake up! Ive come bearing gifts!"
He turned around to see Lilah standing in the doorway of her bedroom with a shocked look on her face. She loooked truly rattled. This made Wesley concerned.
"Whats wrong Lilah?" he asked as he put his groceries down & talked towards her.
"I just got a call from work" she said looking shocked at the floor
"Do you have to go in?" Wesley replied
"No, hmph, not at all. Instead i have to go to New York" she said looking at Wesley smiling
"What?" he replied genuinely shocked "Why?"
"The Senior partners want me to run the New office opening in New York. Supposably the is a high rate of Mutantcy there so they want to take full advantage of it" Lilah replied solemnly
"Well, isnt that good. You would be running a whole building Lilah! Isnt that what you always wanted? Power?" he said, lifting her head so she was facing him. "Well, yeah! But i had always hoped it would be in L.A." "Why? Whats holding you here Lilah?"
At that point Lilahs phone rang. She ran to answer it. "Yes?...Yes, i am Lilah....oh, she did? *sniff* ok sure, ill arrange it all. Thank You."
Lilah turned to Wesley wiping a tear from here eye. "Nothing any more Wes, nothing anymore" "What do you mean?" he asked "That was my mother nursing home. She died this morning. So to answer your question Wesley, nothing is keeping me here. Nothing"
Standing in the new New York office of Wolfram & Hart, Lilah now can remember here most heartbreaking moment. She wonders, why is it that her most triuphment moment had to be shattered by the death of her mother: & her rejection by the man she loved, Wesley who would not go with her. "Oh well" shes said outloud to herself. "I'll get over it. Time to show this town what im made off!"
