19 April 2003 - Zac and Faith's first date

Zac

Diana eyed Zac.

"Where are you off to?" she asked.

"I'm going on a date," Zac replied, picking up the flowers he had bought.

"With who?"

"Caitlin."

This he could say without lying. After all, he was going to the date with her...

"And who's Caitlin?"

"A girl."

"Do we get to meet her?"

"Not tonight. Oh, and she's human, Mom, so when you do, no alien stuff."

"Hmm."

"And I have no intentions of sleeping with her either. I learnt my lesson with Julie."

A lesson which was entitled: "Why you shouldn't have sex with a human who knows nothing about aliens when you are one."

"I'd better go, or I'll be late," Zac said.

He headed out to his van and drove to Caitlin's. When he arrived, he got out and walked up the path to her door and knocked.

"Zac!" Caitlin greeted happily.

"Hey, Caitlin," Zac replied with a grin. "Oh, I brought some flowers for you."

"Oh Zac, that's so sweet!"

She took the flowers and passed them back to her mother, who was smiling.

"Would you mind?" She asked.

"Sure, honey. You be back before ten."

"Okay, Mom."

"And you, Zac, look after her."

"No problem."

Zac cocked his elbow and led Caitlin down to the van. They got in and then Zac drove up to the mansion.

"I'll just be a second," he said to Caitlin.

"Okay."

He got out of the car and hurried to the door to pick up Faith.

Faith

Faith opened the door to see Zac standing there. She smiled at him and reached over and grabbed her jacket from the rack inside.

"Bye guys!"

She walked out the door and closed it behind her. "Hello you."

Zac

"Hey gorgeous," Zac replied, kissing her cheek.

He pulled out a bunch of flowers.

"Here you go," he said. "I hope you like them. I wasn't sure what flowers you liked..."

Faith

"Aw, thanks baby." Faith opened the door and placed the flowers on the table, hoping someone would have the sense to put them into water.

She closed the door again and gave Zac's shoulder a squeeze. "So how are ya?"

Zac

"I'm great," Zac said, linking arms with her to escort her to the van.

He opened up the door for her.

"Faith, this is Caitlin, Caitlin, this is Faith."

"Hi," Cailtlin said.

"We're meeting Calitin's boyfriend Nate at the restaurant."

Faith

"Hey."

Faith greeted her and hopped into the car and sat down.

Zac

The drive to the restaurant was rather silent. When they arrived and got out, Caitlin suddenly when running.

"Nate!" She cried.

A guy (presumabley Nate) embraced Caitlin, and then they walked together back to Zac and Faith.

"Thanks for picking her up for me," Nate said. "Did you get my flowers sweetie?"

"Sure did. They were beautiful," Cailtin.

"I'm glad you liked them. I guess we should go in now? I did book us a table."

"Cool," Zac said, nodding.

And they headed inside.

Faith

Faith raised her eyebrow slightly at Nate. He wasn't bad looking. She scolded herself and looked at Zac, realising that he was the better looking of the two anyway. And he was here with her.

Zac When they got inside, they parted ways and were led to seperate tables. Zac gave Faith a menu before opening his own.

"Hmm, lots of yumming food here. What will I have this time?"

Faith

Faith and Zac ordered their meals after some procrastination on boh parts. Soon after they ordered, the meals came.

"So, did Mama Bear buy the Caitlin story?"

Zac

"Hook, line and sinker," Zac replied.

He grinned and went on.

"And I'd feel bad for lying to her, except I haven't told any lies. If I told lies she's pick me up on them straight away."

He took a bite of his pasta and leaned back.

"This is really nice."

Faith

"It is. I'm glad we finally got our first date, even if it took a little longer than we thought."

Faith took a sip of her water. "So, Caitlin... what's the story there? Should I feel threatened?"

Zac

"Well, for... so long I can't even remember," he laughed, "I was dating mutiple girls at once. And Caitlin was one of them. When we broke up I told her, and of course, she had been cheating on me - although probably not as much as I had been her. We didn't go into details. There isn't really anything for you to feel threatened by."

Zac studied Faith for a moment.

"I find it interesting, though, that you feel you have to ask..."

Faith

Faith paused before answering. "So tell me, any other girls you're currently seeing? And any other dark secrets about your love life that I should know?"

She looked at Zac back and smiled. "I don't know why I really asked if I should be threatened... well, yeah, I do... but it doesn't matter anyway."

Zac

"Mmm... nope I think you know everything," Zac replied.

He reached over and took her hand for a moment, a cheeky glint in his eye.

"Anything you'd like to tell me?"

Faith

"Hmm... nothing that's terribly interesting. For as long as I can remember I've workded on a strictly 'get some, get gone' policy. Which, if you've noticed, hasn't actually applied to you."

Faith picked up her water glass and sat back in her chair and stared into the glass for a second before looking back up at Zac.

"Ok, I hope... here goes. Um... well... while we're talking about all that stuff... you should probably know that, uh... well there are naked pictures of me on the internet."

Zac

Zac regarded her for a moment.

"Soooo, my Faithy is a porn star?" he laughed. "Do you have a funky porn star name too?"

Faith

Faith smiled. "Ok, thank god you didn't mind. Nah, I don't have another name, it was a one time thing."

She let out a giggle. "Besides, you've seen it all anyway."

Zac

Zac winked.

"Yeah, been there, done that?" he suggested. "Heh. And in my not so humble opinion, I think that those strange, sad people who get off on looking up porn on the net are privalged to get to see your beautiful body."

Faith

Faith smiled.

"Aw, well isn't that sweet? I could get used to this... something tells me I should spend more time with you."

Zac

Zac took a sip of his drink.

"No complaints here," he replied, smiling.

Faith

"So, what have you been up to, since we last saw each other?" Faith asked, tucking a loose strand of her hair behind her ear.

Zac

"Mmm... not much..."

A little further into the meal, Zac brought up something he had been a little nervous about.

"Hey, Faithy? YIRAAS are having this ball... they have it every year... and I was wondering if you'd like to be my date?" he asked hopefully.

Faith

Faith paused, deciding how long she could keep him in suspense before it was just plain mean.

"Hmm... ball? I'd love to... this means I'll need a dress." Faith paused before asking her next question. "Wait a minute... Mama Bear's going to be there, isn't she?"

Zac

"You will look gorgeous in anything," Zac informed her.

Then he sighed.

"Yep, Mom will surely be there. But ahh... maybe we can give her the impression that someone else invited you?"

Faith

"Aw thanks. Hey, this means I get to see you in a tux." Faith's eyes twinkled.

"Yeah, shouldn't be hard. The Halliwells are going, which means I can make it look like I went with them."

Faith sighed. "I wish we didn't always have to sneak around."

Zac

"Yeah," Zac agreed. "It's exciting at first, but after a point it really sucks."

He touched her face.

"I wish she would just get to know you. All she ever thinks about when it comes to you is sex. She has such a one tracked mind."

Faith

"Yeah exactly... I mean, why would she associate sex with me?"

Faith giggled.

"But honestly, nevermind about it. If she doesn't like me or if she doesn't wanna get to know me, it's her choice. Besides, I know I wouldn't be the best choice, if I was your mom."

Zac

Zac shrugged.

"Yeah, well, I have no idea why Caitlin's parents approve of me. If I were them, I wouldn't let her near me. So I guess that makes us even, huh?"

Faith

"True... but then again, you don't give off the 'bad guy' vibe, whereas I give off the 'bad girl' one." Faith frowned, thinking. "It's been that way most of my life, really. But I enjoy it most of the time, so it's nothing to get very upset about. So, tell me, how are we gonna hide feelings at this ball?"

Zac

"Mmm, I suppose," Zac then smiled and sighed. "I don't think I could hide from anyone what I feel for you. I guess our best best is to hang around other people as much as possible."

Faith

Faith smiled. "That's really kinda nice."

She paused. "Yeah, gonna be hard staying away from you though."

Zac

"I didn't mean us not be with each other," Zac said. "I mean when we're with each other to be with lots of other people at the same time."

A sly grin crossed his face.

"And maybe when we're dancing this time, we should keep our hands off erm, inapproriate places?"

Faith

Faith pretended to be offended. "Why, I wouldn't even dream of putting my hands inappropriate places..." She stopped and quickly added, "Well, not while we were in public."

Zac

Zac grinned at her.

"Ready for dessert?" he asked.

Faith

"Yep, sure."

Faith grinned back at him.
