18 April 2003 - Dating Again

Xander, Phoebe and Faith

Xander stood nervously outside Phoebe's room. He knocked softly and waited for her answer.

"Yeah?"

"Hey, it's, uh, Xander, can I come in?"

"Sure."

Xander opened the door to find Phoebe sitting by her window with a magazine, staring out at the sunset.

"What's up?"

He fiddled nervously at the door. "I was... you know... um..."

"Xander, spit it out. I won't bite."

"Would you like to go out with me tonight?"

Phoebe put down her magazine. "Um..." it was her turn to be nervous. She liked Xander, she really did, but she'd taught herself to be cautious. Being hurt sucked.

"If you don't want..."

"No, I'd like to." Phoebe made the decision suddenly, startling herself. "I really would. So, what's the plan?"

"I don't know, I hadn't thought you'd said yes... how about we go for dinner, then see where it goes? We could go to P3?"

"That sounds great. I should get ready... meet you downstairs in an hour?"

"Yeah, cool." Xander grinned and left the room, running into Faith in the process.

"Oi, watch it."

"Yeah, I do, coz I'm a Watcher." He smiled goofily.

"Funny. What are you so happy about?"

"Phoebe and I are going for dinner tonight, then to P3."

"Ah, I see, well I'll see you guys at P3 later on then."

"Patrol?"

"As always..." Faith winked and waved as she started down the stairs.

As they both hopped out of Xander's car, Phoebe and Xander were in hysterics. They'd both decided that it was too weird to be involved, when they were such good friends. Dinner had been excellent, and now it was time for some chilling at P3.

"I had a good time tonight, Xand."

"Same, thanks for coming out with me. Even if it didn't end up being the wild love story I was hoping for it to be."

"Well at least we're friends, and that's good enough for me."

They walked into P3 where Faith immediately asked them "Did you guys do it?"

"No, we didn't. We're just friends, Faith." Xander replied, noting Faith's cut cheek.

"Yeah friends... or 'friends'?"

"The first... I think. I can't tell with your tone. Where's Paige, why hasn't she healed you?" Phoebe said as she slid into the seat.

"She's at the Manor, trying to get some sleep. She went for a quick sweep with me."

"Why didn't she heal you before when she was with you?" Xander asked.

"Ah, this happened on the way here. Son of a bitch came from behind me, didn't hear it until too late. But, dust now."

"That's good."
