14 April 2003 - You have been cordially invited...

Zac

Zac grabbed the mail off the counter when he saw the familar YIRAAS stationary.

"Yes!" He exclaimed, ripping his open.

Inside was a beautiful white embossed invitation:

"You have been cordially invited to the Annual YIRAAS Ball!
It will begin at 6:00pm on May 17th.
Formal dress.
You may invite one person, provided they know about YIRAAS.
Please RSVP by May 10th."

It was signed The Elder.

Zac was half groaning, half excited. On the one hand, a ball? Formal dress? That would mean he would have to wear a tux. Dang. On the other hand, how could anyone not get excited about a YIRAAS event? And besides, before the ball started there would be another Challenge. After winning Challenge Champion at the tournament, it only made sense that Zac would eagerly anticipate the next.

Halliwells

Piper threw her bag down on the ground and started rifling through the mail. SHe saw three letters from YIRAAS and ripped her envelope open and scanned the invite quickly.

"Hey, Paige, Phoebe! YIRAAS ball is coming up! Come get your invites!"

Paige and Phoebe came charging through the house and grabbed their letters, opened them and started gushing about dresses and so on. Piper rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, you guys aren't excited."

Mouse

Mouse cradled Nevyn on one shoulder as she flipped through her mail. Bill, bill, junk, bill...all bills went into the post care of kitties pile, junk in the bin, and hellooooo, what's this? She opened the envelope. And sat down rather heavily. Nevyn squeaked in protest and fell to the floor before stalking away with affronted dignity. Mouse barely noticed. YIRAAS ball? She had to go to a ball? The thought of not going didn't even cross her mind. The question was, would Taylor be going or not?

She stared off into space and thought about how big a dent she could make in the cats's bacnk account on tihs shopping trip...

Clark

Clark smiled. He had been looking forward to this since he first heard about it. Not for him, but because he knew that Dawn was excited to go. He had called her, and they were definitely going together, and then she started rattling off who else was going. Aparantly Rachel and Tobias were going together, and Jess was going, though nobody had asked her yet. Rachel was thinking of inviting Julie as her guest, but she had np clue if her parents would even let her go.

Julie

"Please, may I go?" Julie asked.

Julie had recived a slightly different invitation on account of the fact of her current living situation. Now her only problem would be getting the permission.

"Honey," Mrs Williams said, "you'll most certainly be showing by then. Are you sure you actually want to go to a formal event with a fat tummy?"

"It's not like I'll be away very long or fraternising with the wrong people. Please? I don't mind that I'm showing."

"You might not mind. But other people will," Mr Williams said. "What are they going to think of a pregnant seventeen year old?"

Julie bit her lip to stop her from saying what she really wanted to say. She'd never be allowed to go then.

Somehow, she managed to con her parents. After all, as far as they knew it was a charity event.

Miette and Isaac

Miette also had a slightly different invite. Being in England, it was being held on the 24th instead of the 17th - a week later.

Naturally, she was going to accept. Rowena had also been invited - she had applied for an Honourary membership.

Miette called Isaac as soon as she got her invite. Upon discovery of the different dates, they decided to invite each other to their different balls.
