Cain
Cain managed to get away from all the police searching for him and went down into the darker depths of New York. The demonic ones. After some threatening, some pleasant killing of people and demons who refused or couldn't answer his questions, Cain found himself outside a grubby tenemant building. He knocked on the door. It creaked open and what he could only classify as an old witch peered around it.
"Yes?" Her voice was cracked and heavily accented.
"I'm here to pass through."
"Yeessss?"
"I'm here on quest."
"And you bring what?"
"Your life?"
"You'll get on well with the Master then. Come in." The door opened more fully and Cain stepped inside. The world screamed and disappeared. He looked around. A cave, dark with flckering torches on the wall, a bier with a body on it. Filled with a sort of tortured moaning and the sound of liquid dripping. He grinnned. He liked it already.
"Loki?"
Who asks?
"One here to cause havoc."
Come closer.
"You know, I thought the venom thing was a myth, but then again, I thought the whole god thing was a myth too." Cain picked his way over the slick paving stones. "I want protection. I don't think you like the people I hate, and I plan to cause a lot of death and suffering to them. Does this meet with approval?" Cain looked down into the tortured face of the Aesir, Loki.
Who?
"A cat named Nyx, daughter of Bastet. The Key, beloved of Januzs."
Ah. Yes. I know those names. You remind me of someone. Cain felt Loki riffle casually through his mind, and a smile appeared on the Aesir's face. You remind of Fafnir, my wolven son. He had your thirst for blood. He will eat the sun when Ragnorak comes, and I am free.
"Cool, so will you?"
Yesssssssssssss...
Cain screamed as a burning agony set in on his right hand, and lines of fire drew themselves across his back. He stayed upright however as a red and yellow fire-like gem appeared in the top of his hand and the Rune of Loki burnt into his skin.
You are strong. A worthy servant.
"I'm no one's servant, but I will be your ally."
Whatever you desire to call it, mortal. Go. You have distracted me from my agony, and that is reward in itself. Go and cause chaos in my name.
"Will do." The scene in front of Cain's eyes flickered and he found himslef once more outside the front of the tenemant building. Oh yeah. This world would burn. Let that cat and the girlie find him now. He'd be ready for them. Whistling, ignoring the throbbing in his back and the burning in his hand as the marks of his alliance settled themselves, he walked down the street.
