Rogue and Gambit
Rogue awoke in the dark of night in a cold sweat. Damn nightmares. She hated Cain even more than those mutant haters.
"Liberty?"
There was no response. Quietly, Rogue felt around for her bed lamp. Liberty was no where to be seen, so her turned it off so as not to disturb her roommates.
She got out of bed then and tiptoed out of the room. Where could Liberty be? Before she knew it, she was in the kitchen.
"Isn't it a little late for yo to be out of bed, Cheri?"
Rogue jumped, then relaxed.
"Oh, it's you."
"Yo don' sound very enthused to see me."
Rogue was about to reply when she saw Liberty and Red playing on the table.
"Oh! There she is!"
"Red seemed to miss her. He came lookin'," Gambit replied.
"Is that why you're here then?"
"Mmm... yes..."
"Y'know," Rogue grinned. "I believe this qualifies as breaking and entering."
"Aww yo wouldn' dob me in, now would yo Cheri?"
"Ah'll think about it."
"Anything I can do to convince yo?"
"Ah doubt it, Shugah."
"Oh well. By the time dey come after me I'll be long gone anyway."
"How so?"
"I'm a trained thief Cheri."
"Oh!"
"Don' yo worry your perdy little head, Cheri, I won' be stealing anything from here."
"Ah'm glad to hear it."
"I never steal from a perdy lady, 'specially one who has a fuzzle my Red adores."
Rogue smiled.
"So, you're here because you came looking for Red. And Red's here because he missed Liberty, huh?"
"Dat be ma story, Cheri. Now, why yo be up this time o night?"
Rogue sighed.
"Nightmare."
"Oh. Wanna tell me abou' it?"
Rogue considered this, and then began to tell him about the nightmare, and the voice that had provoked it. Rogue didn't get to bed until the wee hours of the morning and undoubtably her roommates wondered why she was so grumpy when they tried to wake her up.
