Isaac
Isaac's last call from Taylor had directed him to Richmond Hill, York, Toronto.
He got out of his car in the middle of town. Now... where to look? Taylor could be anywhere, and he was defintely hiding out, so it would be no easy task.
He hoped Taylor would ring his again soon. In the meantime, he had to try his best without further directions.
Taylor
Taylor hugged himself as he shivered from the cold. This definately wasn't a good time of year to be out on his own, but he figured it was better than being back with the Eye either way.
He looked up and down the alley where he'd been coming back to for the past two days or so. There was an old bogan that lived down at the dead end by a rubbish bin, but he was always drunk.
Taking a deep breath, he pulled out the phone again and turned it on. He'd had it off to save the battery, of which there was only a little left.
Quickly, he dialed Isaac's number again, glad the phone account hadn't been shut off by the owner yet.
Isaac
Isaac heard his phone ring and fished it our hurriedly.
"Hello, Tay?" he asked hopefully.
Taylor
"Yeah, Ike, it's me," he said, his voice shaky as he tried to hug himself.
"Where are you man? I'm still in Richmond Hill if youo're heading for it."
Isaac
"Good," Isaac replied. "Because that's where I am. Richmond Hill. I have a road map here... can you tell me what street you're on?"
Taylor
Taylor felt his heart jump into his throat. Isaac was here!
"Ah, umm... wait a second."
He jumped up and bolted to the end of the alleyway.
"North something... North Terrace. I'm in an alley."
Isaac
Isaac checked the map.
"Okay, I know where that is," Isaac said. "I'm on my way. I should be there in a few minutes."
He hoped back into the car and drove a few more streets. At last he pulled into North Terrace. He got out of the car and started looking for the alley.
Taylor
Taylor stood at the end of the alleyway, hearing the bogan singing drunkenly at the top of his lungs.
One hand was in his pocket, the other shaking by his side as he became more nervous.
This was it. He'd finally be getting out of here. Back to Oklahoma. Back to Tulsa. Back home. He closed his eyes, willing the thoughts away. This was no time to be distracted. Isaac was coming!
He paced nervously at the end of the alley, not willing to come any further out.
Isaac and The Eye
Isaac trotted down the street, looking around axiously. Until... yes... there it was! The alley!
He almost ran to the alley and there Taylor was, dirty, ragged, but very much alive.
"Taylor!" He exclaimed.
"Stop right there!" A voice said.
Isaca had just reached Taylor. He turned to the voice.
"Who are you?" Isaac asked.
"I am The Eye."
Taylor
"NO!" Taylor yelled, grabbing onto his brother for the first time for longer than they could remember.
"Ike, please, that's him! Don't let him take me please I beg you," he pleaded at top speed, tears in his eyes as he stood behind him.
Isaac and The Eye
Isaac's first thought was for his brother. What he had gone through must have been truly awlful for him to respond like this!
"Don't worry Tay. He can't touch us," Isaac said firmly.
"Oh really?" The Eye cackled.
He reach out to Isaac mind. It would be so easy to... wait... what was...
Isaac was watching the look on the Eye's face.
"Yes, I have a telepathic shield," he said.
"There are other ways," The Eye snarled.
He send out bugs to the people on the street. They massed together and started walking towards Isaac and Taylor.
Taylor
"No, no, no..." Taylor shook his head, looking around warily at the people.
"That's what he did to me. That's how he followed me. He... he's controlling them."
Taylor couldn't stop his voice shaking.
"Ike, I know too much for him to let me go. I'm so sorry for bringing you into this," he shook his head.
Isaac and The Eye
The Eye laughed.
"Isn't that sweet?" he sneered as his zombies came forward.
"Tay? We're going to get out of this," Isaac said.
With a mere thought, he pushed the people back. He didn't want to hurt them, but he couldn't let them get near them either. Then he picked up Taylor with his mind (he wasn't sure how much strenth he had to run) and ran to the car.
The Eye saw this. He moved people to try and sabotage the car before they got there, but Isaac pushed them away. Somehow Isaac manged to get them to the car without getting hurt or otherwise hindered.
"Prepare for some crazy driving," Isaac said, getting into the drivers seat.
Taylor
Taylor jumped in the passenger's side as fast as he could.
"I don't care how crazy you drive, just get me the hell out of here before he does anything else," he begged, "he said my mind's damaged as it is."
He gulped, watching the people.
"I know this might not be a good time, but I love you man."
Isaac and The Eye
"I love you too," Isaac grinned.
He started the engine and began driving. He used his telekinesis to push the people out of the way and even to move traffic along so that he could get back onto the main road faster.
"I'm not in the habit of doing that, mind you," he felt the need to point out.
Meanwhislt, the Eye had gotten into a taxi and was following them. Once they got out on the highway, he took command of the mindso fht enearby drivers and attempt to have them ram into Isaac.
"Hot dang!" Isaac exclaimed. "He's trying to run us off the road!"
He pushed them back as much as possible but using telekinesis to keep cars from ramming into you on the highway going 110km/hr requires a lot of energy.
"Tay?" He said at last. "I'm going to need to to drive for me. And we're going to have to swap places while it's going. I'll keep her steady while we're doing it, but I'm getting to tired to fend off the Eye and his slaves and drive at the same time."
Taylor
"Me?! Drive?!" Taylor exclaimed.
The first time he'd driven a car since he'd been in a near-fatal accident ended up with he and Avie being kidnapped.
He scratched his head vigorously as he looked back at the taxi.
"Oh man..." he moaned.
Isaac and The Eye
"C'mon, Tay," Isaac said. "You have to do this, there isn't any other way."
Isaac took control of the wheel with his mind, and then started getting up.
"I'll get into the back, you move across," he instructed him. "And then I'll move into the front."
The Eye smirked, seeing Isaac shuffle out of the drivers seat. This would be the ultimate time to strike!
He commanded his people to all go at the Hanson's car at once.
Taylor
"Oh man oh man oh man," Taylor stressed, grabbing hold of the wheel as Isaac got into the back.
He finally slid across and let his feet touch the pedals. He was in control.
"Oh man..." he moaned again, not trusting himself with the car.
Then he saw the others closing in.
"IKE?!"
Isaac and The Eye
"Uuuhhhhhh uh!" Isaac grunted, the sheer effort taking it's toll.
The Eye watched, as if not the edge of his seat. All but one of the cars, Isaac manage to push firmly away. This once car was slipping sideways... would it hit them?
Taylor
"Oh my God Ike!" Taylor cried, swerving trying to avoid the one car.
Even though he avoided it as best he could, the car hit the tail of Ike's and they spun.
When the car came to a stop, Taylor glanced over his shoulder at the taxi, saw the look on the Eye's face, then floored it. He put it straight into top gear, got the car back on the road, and sped between the small amount of traffic out this late.
"Ike, I don't know where I'm going..."
Isaac and The Eye
Isaac was panting from the effort. He barely managed to get into the fron passanger seat.
"Get onto the 403 highway," he said.
That last burst had taken a lot, especially trying to steady the spinning. All he wanted to do now was go to sleep, but her knew he couldn't. He looked around for the taxi.
The Eye snarled to himself. How could they have gotten away in such an opprtune moment? He growled and urged the driver telepathically to drive faster.
Taylor
Taylor looked for any sign indicating there was highway. He finally found one telling him he was approaching it.
"Ok Ike, found it."
He glanced at his brother warily, he could tell he was almost completely worn out.
"Ike, hold on. We'll get there, ok?" he gulped, turning back to the road.
He slowed down slightly as they approached the highway.
Isaac
"The next turn off isn't for awhile," Isaac said. "But we need to lose him. I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to be able to fend off cars."
Then he spotted the next exit and got an idea, he twisted around in his seat and focused on the taxi.
Taylor
Taylor watched him.
"Ike?" he began, "what are you doing?"
He had to keep his eye on the road, but glanced in the rear-view mirror at the taxi.
Isaac and The Eye
"I'm going to steer his car to the exit," Isaac replied. "Catching up with us again will take him awhile, if he decides we're worth the effort."
It took him about all the strength he had left, but Isaac managed to push the taxi off the highway.
The Eye cursed and tried to steer them back, but to no avail. He spluttered in indigtion as the taxie moved down the exit.
Isaac turned back and slumped in his seat.
"If you don't mind, Tay, I'm going to go to sleep. Wake me if there's a problem."
Taylor
"Ok," Taylor nodded nervously.
He watched as the taxi drove out of sight, knowing the Eye would keep looking for him. He probably realized that Taylor wouldn't keep his mouth shut about the bomb.
"Thanks again."
Isaac
"Mmm... no problem man... no problem..." and Isaac drifted off to sleep.
