Julie and Max

Julie stepped out of the car as Mrs Williams turned off the engine.

"Could I... could I go over to Izzy's?" she asked. "I'll be back in time for dinner."

Mrs Williams hesitated.

"You have just been out."

"Please?"<

"Oh very well."

"Thank you Mom!"

Julie gave her a hug and then walked next door. She would have prefered to run, but her parents objected to her behaving like that when she was pregnant.

Julie knocked on the door. Max opened it.

"Hey Julie," he said. "Come in."

"Thanks. Is Izzy here?"

"Sure, just a sec," he turned and yelled up the stairs "Hey! Izzy! Julie's here!"

Isabel

Izzy came downstairs, a real smile on her face. "Hey Julie, what's up? Nothing wrong with the baby, I hope?" she asked as she greeted her friend. Max was glad to see his sister starting to come back into the world of normalcy. He was so afraid she's never get over it, that she's stay broken. Jessi, however, wasn't doing so well, or so the Hansons had reported over the phone.

Julie and Max

"Well, ahh, I just came back from my check up and I met up with someone I didn't expect to."

"Oh yeah?" asked Max.

"Zac. Zac Hanson? He's my ex. And he told me something umm... rather... well..." she started stammering.

Isabel

"He told you he's an alien?" Isabel finished. "And that I am as well, and Max too? Good, it didn't take him as long as I was afraid it would. How are you doing, hun?" Izzy motioned for the girl to come sit down next to her on the couch.

Julie and Max

"Well... I was fine... up until about ten seconds ago," Julie burst into tears. "Oh dang, aliens? Aliens! And I'm having an alien baby? Oh man..."

Max handed her a tissue and looked at Isabel worriedly.

Isabel

"Just calm down, Julie, let it out. I know it's a lot to take in. But we're all the same people we were before, you just know a bit more about us now."

Julie

"I'm pregnant, I'm allowed to be emotional," Julie sobbed. "Oh man... how the... Zac, Dr Patterson, you guys, you're all aliens! And just how many more people I know are going to turn out to be aliens? Half the freaking planet?"

Isabel

Izzy smiled, "No, not that many at all. In fact, Max, Michael and I thought we were the only ones for ages. It's all going to work out, Julie," Isabel reassured the girl.

Julie

Julie stared at her through tear stained eyes.

"Michael's an alien too?"

"Yes," Max interjected. "He is too."

"Does the madness never end?"

"No, I don't think it does. But we can tell you everything you want to know, okay?"

Julie sniffed and then fished a card out of her pocket.

"Dr Patterson gave me this. What..."

"Ahh. That's the YIRAAS website. YIRAAS stands for Yes I'm Really An Alien Society. Someone's created a guest membership for you. That way you can check out everything. If you want you can apply for an honourary membership, but, ahh, we can get to that later. We can look at it now if you want, or we can go through the newsletter - they have a regular one you see."

"Umm... okay... Julie sniffed.

Isabel

"Here, Julie, why don't you go through the pages of registered aliens, and see who you recognize, so that we don't shock you by mentioning people, okay?" Isabel said, as Max led her over to the computer

Julie and Max

"Okay," Julie agreed.

Max pulled up the broswer and opened up his bookmark to the YIRAAS login page.

"Why don't we use you login?" he suggested.

"Okay."

Isabel

Izzy watched from behind as Max kindly led Julie through all the pages, helping her get used to the idea of aliens.

Julie

Julie stayed over as long as she could get away with before she would have to go home. But by the time she got to leave, she was feeling much better about the whole thing.
