10 March 2003 - Dating the enemy

Mouse and Nyx

Mouse knocked on the door, then opened it slowly. She turned and glared at Nyx who was hovering over her shoulder. "I'll be *fine*! Not planning on going back to the bad bitey place. I'm here to find out how my boyfriend and his family are." Mouse put her hands on her hips and glared harder. Nyx put her hands up and backed away.

"Ok, ok, cool it, sweetie. Have your fun alone time. Don't do anything I wouldn't...actually, that gives you too much leeway. Don't do anything Priss- dammit!" Nyx looked frustrated and Mouse giggled.

"I'm not likely to. Rather crowded. See ya soon, Nyx."

"Be good." Nyx got back on her motorbike and roared off. Mouse stepped into the house and smiled at Diane.

"Hey. Is Taylor around?"

"Yes, Jane. He's upstairs in his room. Go on up." Diane smiled back and Mouse headed up the stairs. She knocked on Taylor's door.

"Tay?"

Christian

Christian looked up from where he'd been drawing on a pad of paper. He was very artistic himself, and instead of music he expressed himself through drawing. Luckily, he knew Taylor drew as well.

He recognized Mouse's voice through Taylor's memory.

"Come in," he grinned, remembering some things she and Taylor had done together in the past.

This could be fun...

Mouse

"Hey, feeling any better?" Mouse said as she stepped into the room and closed the door behind her. "Fafnir wanted to come, but he got burned bad. Nyx is healing him, and Nevyn. So, they may come over later." She walked over to Christian and looked at the paper. "Nice. You're pretty good."

Christian

"Well I hope he's ok," Christian frowned a little, more in thought than anything else.

He held the drawing up as she looked at it for a moment, then pulled it away, put it in a book and slipped it under the bed.

"Thanks."

He pulled her down onto his lap and swayed her a little.

"So... apart from worrying about me and the folk, how have you been?"

He leant his chin on her shoulder, breathing in her scent.

"I missed you alot."

Mouse

"I missed you a lot as well. Fafnir went nuts. It was bad and scary." Mouse leant back into him, almost purring. "Very bad. But it shouldn't happen again, cos the Spider's dead." Mouse grinned. "Bad, bad man that he was. Fafnir's annoyed that he didn't get to eat him after all, but wolves don;t like the taste of cooked meat."

Christian

Christian bit his lip and squeezed his eyes shut.

Craig couldn't be dead. He couldn't. He was the Spider! He had to...

"Are, are you sure? Did, did someone see him die?" he asked, his voice shaky.

Mouse would obviously take it that Taylor was afraid of him coming back.

Mouse

"Tanya, the telepath Master, says she saw him die. The cats can't find him, not even with Bastet's help. I can't feel him in my head. Pretty sure he's dead. You have no idea how worried I was when I found out he was the one who had taken you and Avery." Mouse felt a slight return of the fear, and then squashed it. "But you're back, and you're safe, and that's all that matters to me." Sheran a hand through his hair in a comforting gesture, soothing the turmoil of emotions she sensed in him.

Christian

Even though Christian was grateful for the soothing emotions she was obviously sending him, he couldn't stop his eyes tearing just a little.

If Tanya said so, then he must be dead. She had to be the most trustworthy person he knew when she wasn't on the job.

He took a shaky breath, then buried his face into her chest.

"I'm just so glad to be home," he said finally, "thank you for everything."

Mouse

Mouse felt his tears wet her shirt just a bit. "Glad to have you back. Missed you, so much, you have no idea, Tay." She ran her fingers through his hair, just basking in the closeness and the comfort. "You make me feel safe. I don't get that much." She hid her face against his neck. "Missed you."

Christian

"Missed you more," he grinned, finally leaning back and wiping his eyes.

He laughed at himself.

"Man look at me. So pathetic. You're the girl, I'm supposed to be the tough one."

He flashed her a grin, before feeling something jump onto his shoulder.

"Hey!" he exclaimed, sending the fuzzle flying.

"Oh my God! Flavian! I'm so sorry..."

Mouse

"Flavian!" Mouse gasped, and hopped off Christian's lap to pick up the shocked fuzzle.

Taytay? Why me fly? Flavian sniffed.

He didn't mean it, Flavian, sweetie. Mouse crooned to the fuzzle. Go play with Sidhe? Mouse felt the cat's predatory mind stalk into the house, and she offered this to the fuzzle as something to take his mind off what had happened.

Sidhe! Kittykittykitty! Bounce, she bounces me! Flavian squealed happily, all thoughts of his misadventure forgotten and Mouse smiled as she set him on the floor, and he moved towards the door.

"That's not like you. Still jumpy, huh?" Mouse looked at Christian thoughtfully.

Christian

"Yeah, very," Christian rubbed his arm, feeling bad for the fuzzle.

Then he looked around worriedly.

"Where's the other one? Meena?"

Then he spotted her asleep in their small bed. She looked a bit fatter than Taylor would have remembered...

Oh well.

Mouse

Mouse came back over and sat in Christian's lap again. "So, what do you wanna do? We could go out, if you think your parents will ever let you out of their sight again, or we can stay in and talk and stuff..."

Christian

"I'm not sure they'll let me," Christian admitted, swaying her from side to side, then reaching up to kiss her neck.

"We can do stuff..." he grinned, leaning so she fell onto the bed then getting on his hands and knees over her.

Then he leant in to kiss her.

Mouse

Mouse kissed him back, one hand on the back of his head. "Um, parents? Not a good look," kiss, "if they," kiss, "decide to come in and check on you." Prolonged kiss. "Not that I'm complaining or anything..." They smooched some more.

Christian

"Why would you be?" Christian grinned.

And they got into some... er... serious groping.

"Just as a... precaution... and because you're the empath... wanna warn me... if someone comes... toward the door?"

Mouse

"Mmm. Yes. Can do." There were hands in inappropriate places and everything. "Tay..." More kssing. "Missed you..."

Christian

Christian closed his eyes, just indulging. It wasn't as if Mouse wasn't hot after all...

"Missed you more," he insisted with a grin, again.

Mouse

Mouse suddenly straightened up and rolled off the bed, hands straightening her clothes. "Your mom's coming!" She hissed at Christian.

"Are you two ok in there?" Diane's voice came through the closed door.

Christian

Christian flew into a sitting position, wiping his mouth slightly.

"Umm... yeah. Thanks mom. We're fine," he replied.

He straightened his shirt and looked at Mouse.

'Sorry,' he mouthed.

Mouse

"Ok, dear. Just making sure you're bth still alive in there."

Mouse shrugged and grinned, as she felt Mrs Hanson move away. "Normal teenagerness. At least she didn't come in." Mouse laughed softly, eyes gleaming with amusement. "I think that is something I can live without."

Christian

"Indeed," Christian grinned, falling back onto the bed.

He reached up to play with her hair for a moment, before pulling the back of her neck down for another kissing session.
